Songwriters will know, of course, that while sometimes you can get a song to sound exactly how it sounds in your head, other times, the song turns into something completely different. The difference between ODDADA and a DAW like Ableton is that it celebrates this notion, rather than just allowing the musician to create whatever they want. In this way, ODDADA is kind of like a training ground for creativity, forcing the musician to be happy with a lack of autonomy. That being said, I would be lying if I said that the lack of autonomy wasn't, at times, frustrating, and I would absolutely love to see these devs apply these fun graphics to something more open-ended, like a cute modular workstation with fun sequencers. At the end of the day, that's just not what this game is.

A fun casual tool to play with. I would like to see a mode where I could select the instruments I would like to try for my song, and though I realize this is probably counter to the whole aesthetic of the game, I would like to see some presets for some of the instruments (aside from the default preset that a given instrument shows up with). If you're a dabbler with no real clue of how to make music, yet you have a burning desire to 'make music,' ODDADA can be a fun experience. Other things I would like to see, is let me dictate how long I'd like my song to last, instead of one preset. (I've only played a couple of hours, maybe this is something you get later when you've unlocked everything available.) I would recommend this as a diverting pass-time with some creative aspects (as opposed to a casual puzzle game).

So devices need to be running in order to save?? I just spent about 20-30 minutes creating a tune on the second device (houses), pressed the train save button and moved on to the next device, and now nothing is coming out of the second recording.. SO DUMB!!!
