It is wonderfully chaotic, everyone just figuring things out as they go, except for that one friend who acts like they have trained for this their whole life. We love to hate them.

My earliest memories of "Worms" was playing Worms Armageddon for the Playstation 1 at a friend's house when I was in middle school. It was always fun hearing the witty one liners and using the wide variety of silly weapons to blow each other to smitherines. Worms W.M.D. returns to a more 2.5D aesthetic of Worms Armageddon but with higher resolution assets so it looks a bit sharper. It has a wide array of weapons, some old, some new, and is a wonderful family night or party game. It's always fun to hear your kids scream and laugh at the same time when you send a concrete donkey or a flying sheep or something after them. My autistic son was tickled pink at the little baseball park diddy it played when I used the baseball bat to knock his sister off the map and into the water for an instant kill. If you're looking for a fun game to play with your friends and family, this is a great choice. You can either pick one of the pre-made teams or build your own custom ones. You can play online or it fully supports couch co-op with multiple controllers. You essentially have teams of talking earth worms that spawn around a level of your choosing and you take turns attacking one another (and your environment) until somebody is the last worm standing. You have a variety of weapons you can use, from teleporters to ninja ropes, from air strikes to exploding bananas and farting grandmas. This is a classic series that's sure to be fun for the whole family. I highly recommend it, especially if you have kids or are young yourself and want to have a good time with your friends.

Worms W.M.D. is so much better with crafting in it because I would craft anything in it. Their pvp website is awesome. I broke my left medial phalange during covid 19 but thanks to josh & joe I found out how to ninja rope through cliffs with sliding it down W-s keys instead now it feel a lot better- thanks to josh & joe for making me keep playing it because my finger is a lot better now... also a lot of pro situations where I was bored as hell if we played this already would have went better so I recommend this to anybody who's wanting to play a bit faster.

It looks good, nice effects and graphics, but it's not as fun as Worms Armageddon or World Party, The gameplay is a bit off, doesn't feel right, the voices and the soundtrack depressing. Nice try but not good enough

The only thing Team 17 ever really did was Worms, so it's shocking that they messed up a remake. I never really understood why there were so many versions of Worms when none of them feel unique. The only thing that felt different was the irritating animated news feed on the menu that keeps bringing up "news" from years ago. The game bombards you with text explaining a gamemode before it lets you reach the menu, and then prompts you to customize a team, which is awkward because the drop-down boxes for things like cosmetics have many entries and aren't ordered alphabetically, and the box window is small. As if it was a free-to-play game, some of the cosmetics are promotional items that feel like advertising. I couldn't find a way to do a regular match, so I went into the campaign, which doesn't seem to let you play as your custom team. So not only was it tedious to make a custom team, it was also pointless. When trying the campaign, I couldn't find a weapons menu - you can only change to certain weapons with the F buttons, such as F2 being the grenade. The gameplay is unbalanced, as the AI has a weapon that you aren't allowed to use. The arrow keys do nothing. The force meter that appears when holding down the fire button has not been improved over the original, and could have been implemented more intelligently - Worms remains a casual game that was only interesting in an era when there were few games in the market, and mechanics were generally quite basic due to hardware limitations. The menu buttons and scroll bars are glitchy, and I can't find an exit button. Minimizing the game doesn't stop the audio, and some of the voicelines are too quiet. If this version of Worms was supposed to be unique, then I missed the point. It just feels like a bad remake. This is not worth £19.99. Even if it was good, I don't think an 8 year old novelty game should be £20. I didn't usually go for refunds, but the bar is so low these days, and it's so awkward managing to get a refund, that it might be time to start trying to get refunds for every undercooked game. This industry should go back to being a meritocracy.

Such a classical game... It bring's back memories from old days. Good price, and game is awesome. 10/10

Fun classic worms game, if you like worms (animal or series) you should probably get it. If you do not like worms (animal or series), you would likely not enjoy this game.

I grew up playing Worms World Party as a kid and lost interest when the Worms moved on to 3D. Here is the middle ground, a nicely designed game that gives a Newgrounds-like vibe. The game is really extensive with more customization, unlockables, new vehicles and a Workshop. Ranked matches are also interesting for those who seek it, but not interesting to me who only plays with friends. Some shortcomings is that CPU players seem to have been entirely scrapped (in Multiplayer) and the vehicles tend to be unbalanced. Still absolutely worth what I paid for it. Still runs great, plays great, and looks great. Peak worm.

Always amazing with friends. I don't have much time in this version, but We've played Worms games since around 2003, back when it was two people using one keyboard. They are consistently good. I suggest you try it. Lobbing a Holy Hand Grenade at an enemy worm only for it to bounce back and blow you to tiny bits will never stop being funny to everyone concerned.

F*ck you Team 17 for taking down the independently uploaded older Worms soundtracks on Youtube, and replacing them with inferior versions. As far as indie game developers go, i am starting to think you should have died with the Amiga.

Do not buy this game if you're using a mac. The game has long-time unresolved issues with using a keyboard input which renders the game unplayable. The developer promised fixes to this problem years ago, but produced nothing. This game should not be available for sale.

BUY THIS GAME NOW! 9.5/10 Score The spiritual successor to Worms Armageddon but better graphics, new vehicles and mounted guns in the scenery all of which adds another level of strategy. As an old player of worms in the 90's and then Armageddon there will always be some who prefer the earlier versions especially as you could add custom soundbanks etc which you can't with this one, but regardless this is without any doubt the definitive version now. I had been out of gaming for over a decade, got back in recently and was amazed to see the new titles, DOOM Eternal, Kingdon Come Deliverance, Dead Space, Darkest Dungeon.....all good in their own right but the one game that has brought me back the most and most addictive is worms WMD. The single player campaign is great for adjusting to the new mechanics but where it really shines is of course online multiplayer or with your friends if you have local. There are always games in the lobby, and few things in gaming surpass a close match with 4 or 5 teams going to the wire. Are there any minor faults? Yes, the hidden building thing adds some more nuances but it will take a while to recognize this as part of the scenery and can be confusing but overall implemented well. TEAM17 did a great job and worms is a true classic, we only need an update every 15-20 years or so this will stand its ground for the forseeable future.

Feels incomplete many of the features when setting up a match.

Has to be some of the worst controls I've experienced in any game ever, they are extremely janky and unintuitive. Some weapons require you to fire twice before actually firing, some require to hold down the fire button to fire, some require both, some require just point and click, and some are just a mystery; you almost never know which weapon is going to do what. Another thing, grenades are completely garbage, they have the worst physics ever, sometimes they stop after hitting something and sometimes they bounce like crazy, so it almost always does nothing. On the topic of bad physics, the grappling hook has terrible physics, its stiff and your character bounces off everything... not very useful. Just simply jumping is also a pain in this game, if you try to jump up something you're too close to you will bounce backwards. Jump height is also pretty limited but its good enough. Once you get used to all of that, the game is pretty fun. I would change this review to recommended if the controls are fixed, the rest of the stuff is easy enough to deal with.

Worms W.M.D is pure chaotic bliss. It's like your childhood strategy game got drunk, stole a tank, and started launching sheep-shaped bombs across the battlefield. The weapons are insane, the matches are full of glorious, stupid deaths, and the trash talk opportunities are endless. Grab some friends, load up on bananas (the explosive kind), and prepare to f*** each other over in the most hilarious ways possible. Beautifully dumb fun.

Now if this doesn't contain all the evidence we need for WMDs in Iraq and Iran, then I just don't know what does. I give it a 90 percent enrichment rating, for sure.

Its a little over priced. But, if you get it on sale I'd 100% say buy it.

the only one truly worth recommending outside of Armageddon. Great modernised menus and controls with good customisation and mod support

Back in 1999 I was amazed by Armageddon. I wondered what this series would look like without certain hardware limitations. I'M STILL FUCKING WONDERING 26 YEARS LATER. Why is there a limit on the amount of custom teams you can create and why in the fuck are 6 of the slots perma-filled by the shitty default teams?
