It's eerie how the events in Orwell mirror the events in America. Great game! It made me think. The storyline was good, pretty decent. A bit too much reading at times, but that is the nature of investigation. A worthwhile experience!

Orwell is a remarkably well made story game that was a cross between a pick your own story and a walking simulator without walking. You have meaningful choices throughout the game that do change the later portions of the story which was well written. The setting was believable and it was satisfying to piece together the information on the characters in the game. I would very much recommend this game if you can spare the 4 or so hours required for a whole playthrough. Pros: -Well Written story -Simple and effective User interface -consistent and well done art style Cons: -The game gives you most if not all of the information on a platter. I think the game could have been better if you had to search for information or had it be a more active experience -The replay time for achievements was a tad longer, I wish I could have made the text display faster or fast forwarded past the parts with no variations

Played through once so far and really enjoyed it. The game was really well thought out, I would have liked abit more control over accessing the information for myself to get all the details before selecting peices of information especially when conflicting but I suppose that is also the point. I'm definently going to be playing the second game. if you enjoy choice based games, this is a good one, it directly affects the characters you observe and the character you play and I'm keen to see what the consequences are in the next game

╰┈➤ Orwell: Keeping an Eye on You . . • ☆ Time Played at Review: 7.7 hr (100% Achievements) Orwell: Keeping an Eye on You is an interactive visual novel in which you play as a digital detective, working to uncover the truth behind a suspected terrorist attack in The Nation's capital. Scour webpages, social media, and citizens' personal devices for information to share with your superiors. While not the most exciting game, Orwell managed to keep me engaged and questioning until it's (amazing) ending. While the story is relatively short, taking me around 4.5 hours to complete my first play through, there are a few alternate story paths that can be completed if you really enjoy the game. While I'm not sure there is enough content to justify picking this game up at full price, if you like visual novels and are looking for a good mystery to unravel, try grabbing Orwell next time its on sale. Other Similar Titles: Papers, Please; Death and Taxes ˚₊‧꒰ა . ——— ˗ˏˋ ✮ Checklist ✮ˎˊ˗ ——— ˖ ໒꒱ ‧₊˚ Performance: ☒ Stable, no issues ☐ Occasional bugs/glitches ☐ Crashes/freeze issues ☐ Poor optimization Audio: ☐ I’d buy the OST, and I don’t say that often ☒ Fits the tone and enhances the atmosphere ☐ Fitting sound design, but nothing special ☐ Turned the music off and played my own playlist ☐ Repetitive/annoying audio ☐ Voice acting present Note: Unfortunately there is no voice acting, which does take away from the immersion a little bit. However, the soundtrack/effects are perfect for the mystery/thriller vibe Orwell is going for and is used in a way that helps enhance the reading experience (e.g., sound effects going off when shocking information is uncovered) Visuals: ☐ So pretty I stopped to stare at the trees ☐ Clean and polished, fits the game well ☐ Distinct style that grows on you ☒ Basic visuals, but nothing to write home about ☐ Some nice moments, but rough overall ☐ Inconsistent quality across areas/scenes ☐ Graphics? No idea, I turned everything to low Note: The graphics are minimalistic and clean, suiting the game's style. One thing to note is that there are no customization options for the onscreen text, which may be an issue for people who have challenges with reading certain fonts/colors considering the game is essentially an interactive novel. Controls: ☐ Fully customizable ☒ Intuitive & responsive ☐ Requires getting used to ☐ Fighting the UI is half the game Replayability: ☐ Send help, I forgot what sunlight looks like ☐ High ☐ Moderate ☐ Low ☒ Fun once, now I just stare at it in my library Note: I really enjoyed my first play through of Orwell. The story is captivating and getting to uncover new/conflicting pieces of the puzzle bit by bit is a really interesting concept. Unfortunately, I found my subsequent achievement playthroughs to be quite tedious, since different story routes are basically identical except for minor variations not uncovered until the very end of the chapter. Worth the Price?: ☐ 110%, without hesitation ☒ If you can get it on sale ☐ Not really ☐ Wait for updates/DLC ☐ Bought it, played it, refunded it :,( ˚₊‧꒰ა . ————— ˗ˏˋ ✮ ˎˊ˗ ————— ˖ ໒꒱ ‧₊˚

I don't know why I took so long to finish it. It's rather short but entertaining nonetheless.
