TLDR: Imagine Pokemon but with seggs and a lot of QoL improvements and yeah thats it. Quite a hefty content if you wan to 100% it and DLCs are present to increase the playtime if you like.
Yarimono is a monster battler/collector with Hentai. The game takes us back to Gen 1~3 vibes and the biggest difference is we can bang the trainers once we defeat them. the H-scenes themselves are really hot but on the "yucky" side with liquids being set to 15 and just liquids everywhere, I'm not into that but not really a bother to me. Might be regarded as "disgusting" to some so a heads up is necessary. Story is on par with other Pokemon games with some side quests that takes it to the extreme (cult stuff). Yarimon levels are capped by you trainer level requiring you to fight trainers around your level first before fighting other trainers. AKA You can't grind for levels since you need to fight trainers to raise your level. Every battle you earn EXP shards which can be used as exp for mons you want to level up. This is really good rather than fighting a patch of grass 100X. A lot of QoL improvements to those who min-max (like me) will have a breather here each yarimon species fave the exact same stats at the same level. Lets say a level 100 Pikachu evolved to Raichu will have the exact same stats as a Level 100 Raichu evolved at level ten. You can switch out Yarimons on the spot. No shiny mons. Cheat tackle is also a good fallback plan. Other than trainer levels you Yarimons will also have "Star rank" just use them regularly and that will also go up, Bond star also exist to increase this. Also weaker Evolutions will still be useful due to "Soul boost", that can raise stats of "cuter" mons to their evolved forms. Evolved forms can also use them.
Gameplay: 10/10 - Captured the early Pokemon vibes and is actually really challenging and fun at the same time.
Grind: 9/10 - A lot of QoL improvements you can switch out Yarimons on the spot, The only problem I deemed of some attention are trainer levels, but other than that its good. Also cheat tackle 10/10 a great fallback move.
H-scene: 8/10 - They are good and plenty with some repeating characters to be invested in. again a bit on the "eek" side but I'm jaded to that stuff already. Probably the only problem is most scenes will only have 1 position, but it is animated so it gets a plus.
Kink: 10/10 - I think they got everyone of them???
Story 10/10 - It's on par with other pokemon games the only difference is you can skip with "Left Control" so you can skip characters you don't like or want to skip all the dialogues.
Length: 6-9 hours - Just for the Main story and most H-scenes without getting 100% Yarimon. Can be faster if you skip dialogues and spam cheat tackle.
15-20 hours - easily if you plan to 100% everything (DLC 1&2 included) normal dificulty~
Overall: 9.5/10 - Except for the trainer levels everything is really good and straight forward.
DLC 1 Review
It expands on the available content from the base game such as returning chracters to battle (and bang) Overall its cheap enough that I wouldn't mind paying for a few more mins of additional content. No new Yarimon or location, not a problem for me.
H-scenes: 10/10 improving on the base game. It adds 2-3 animated positions per scene. With emphasis on repeating characters
Grind: 9/10 similar to before you will have a time where you can't fight most characters and forces you to fight characters around your level first. But provides a really nice challenging battles. Where you are always behind levels forcing you to use your brain.
Overall: 10/10 - must get
DLC 2 Review
DLC 2 gives us a new, but small, region to explore (and ravage). It also adds new characters to fight (and bang) also adds new Yarimon 50 from the base game of 151 to a total of 201. Probably the only thing of note that most H-scenes here are back to the 1 position scenes compared to DLC1 but other than that it's still really good and an excellent place to grind for EXP Shards.
Story: 10/10 - expands on the game's story and adds a region.
H-scenes: 8/10 - Some returning characters and a few new ones added. I just hope there were more varieties to the positions.
Grind: 10/10 - provided you finished DLC1 to completion then you will have an easier time over there. If you didn't you might be boned.
Overall: 9/10 - It was still fun and more scenes for Best girl Flare ;) is really welcome for me.
Powerful early Yarimons
Messa > Mesalassa - Dark type Yarimon that can learn "Lamenting Spite" the most broken move especially on later levels. Imagine Poison but deals it 3x per turn.
Wink > Tears > Glare - Normal type Yarimon. A quite tanky typeless unit with 2 of the most hard hitting typeless moves. Means 100% damage no matter what and no weakness. Also deals more damage against buffed enemies, which is a lot on later more difficult enemies.
They are powerful for me but stick to whatever you want and just have fun. Thats it for me.
