I'll start out by saying that I'm a sucker for "alone in an abandoned world" adventure games. And The Abandoned Planet certainly meets that criteria. That alone was enough for me to give this one a try and I am so glad that I did. The alien planet is beautiful and the puzzles inventive, but it's the story that gripped me the most. Especially when you find out why this world was so empty with pretty much nothing but ruins and vegetation. Highly recommended for fans of first-person exploration games.

I'll admit this right from the beginning. I have no idea how this game got into my Steam account. But I'm glad it did. Really great game. Some of the puzzles were hindered a bit by the retro graphics. Sometime it was hard to tell if it was just some scenery, or a bush you could click on to reveal a part of the puzzle, so click on everything. But the game was far better than a lot of point and click escape room style games I've played. Great story to. Props to the developers. You people made a great game!!!

A nice Point & Click with a great artstyle. I love the incredibly detailed pixel art, and the use of cutscenes when solving puzzles or finding items. The puzzles were good, with each act ramping up in difficulty.

Really beautiful game, the pixel art, animations, sound design, and voice acting are all incredible. There's lots of love clearly put into it. I got stuck at times but reliably was able to find the solution by thinking within all of the mechanics at my disposable for that delightful eureka feeling. The code book is maybe my favourite touch. I'm really tempted to go back and try and fully crack it. Short and sweet. I love adventure games but haven't played them in a while and this was a very appreciated welcome home.

Tight little point & click adventure that whips along nicely; good retro style graphics give it the feel of a classic, but the sound & music is a little more modern. The first three or four acts have plenty of logical puzzles for you to solve with your wits and imagination, but the last act does devolve into a lot of arbitrary button pushing. The inclusion of the journal was a nice touch, giving you an extra in-game artefact to mine for clues & codes.

I really enjoyed this game. The puzzles were challenging, but not impossible, and they get a little bit harder as you go. It's a mix of logic puzzles, hunting for clues in one location to apply to another, and object gathering. I managed to get through the game without a walkthrough, but I was stuck a few times and was tempted to find one. The real highlight of the game is the setting and story. It reminded me a little of Lucasarts' The Dig, but better in so many ways. The art and animations are impressive., and I was immersed in the world despite it being a pixel graphic game. The pixel cutscenes and animations had a style I really appreciated. Fluid and with a limited palette...reminded me a bit of the game Another World The game uses compass navigation (first person with N/S/E/W options on each screen). I don't usually like this, but the volume of locations (and artwork) more than makes up for it.

Pretty good! It felt like most of the puzzles were on the easy side. A few puzzles are solvable through pure guesswork because the possibility space is too small. A few are off-the-shelf puzzle types are used, but they are at least well integrated. Also, Act3 had some refreshing complications. Exploring is great. The art in general and multiple animated cutscenes really make this game. I loved the alien notebook and the subtle world building in the different locations. A bit of a shortcoming: We learn nothing of our protagonist, her commentary is rather sparse. I would have liked some more exposition in the beginning and more thoughts on the environments. In comparison, it feels like in the End, we know more of the alien. The ending is a little too twist heavy... Overall, a good experience for adventure game fans.

This game is absolutely fantastic! I was hesitant to pick it up because I wasn't sure what to expect, but I really wish I picked it up sooner. This is my favorite point and click game. The environment is beautiful. The sound design was peaceful and ambient with lots of lovely beeps, boops, drips, whirs, and hums. The character design was intriguing. The puzzles were accessible when I gave it an appropriate amount of thought. The level of polish the game presents is impressive. The pacing is better than any point and click I've played. I got it on sale for $5 which was an absolute steal. The Abandoned Planet deserves an overwhelmingly positive rating.

I had a lot of fun with this one! - Great atmosphere - Nice "chunky" pixel art - Satisfying puzzles - Good sound design Small criticism: - Would have enjoyed it more if it was completely low-res pixel art (including UI) - The UI is a bit inconsistent (especially regarding movement) - There were a few visual glitches in the UI Overall: clearly a labor of love! 💜 Well worth the money! Thank you for a few hours of great entertainment!
