The game is really fun and realistic. The only bad thing is the DLC pricing, but I think it'd be a great idea the devs merge the lines that share the same infrastructure to add some sort of freedom to different lines. Don't hesitate to buy it. You'll love it.

I don't think it is worth it. Although I play it a lot, it has a lot of issues, and there are almost no explanations of why certain things are happening, or how to handle different safety systems. Also performance issues, I have a Radeon rx 6950xt and I still get frame drops on medium settings. Now some more hours playtime later, I still stand by my point. Some locomotives aren't explained at all, or different signals aren't.

I try to play and on nearly all routes the game crashes, refuses to close since a fatal error happens every time it loads and I need task manager just to shut the game.

Awesome game, yes I know it is overpriced, but that shouldn't stop you from getting the game, if I was you, save up some money and get it! The graphics and gameplay are good. And if you are to lazy to save up money, wait for it to go on sale, it can go as low as $25. Hope you read and use this comment for others!

Great game, incredible graphics and smooth gameplay on my Lenovo Legion (i9. 32GB RAM + nVidia 3070 graphics card). I would LOVE to see Dovetail Games indulge in MTA New York City Transit Subway routes (e.g., (A) to 207th St, (C) to Euclid Avenue, etc.) + subway trains (e.g., R46, R160, R211) and releasing these contents as DLCs. That collab would be EPIC, and I know Dovetail Games can DELIVER! I'd be the first in line to purchase. :)

Lovely experience, great optimisation for low end devices (such as mine), while still maintaining a certain level of quality, some sounds and models are slightly inaccurate, but for a casual train driving simulator it is worth the money, I'd recommend getting the Delux edition as it comes with the same stuff as the Special edition, but for less money (or at least it was last time i checked which was when i bought this)

bought this game cheaply, I really like the game but biggest problem is optimization. Love to buy the next train sim game if they made the optimization better. I enjoyed the game and planning to buy their next games.

The game itself is fun and great for educational purposes. However, it is also one of the buggiest games I have ever played. There are strange lighting bugs with train headlights and non-progression bugs during scenarios. When driving some British rolling stock, you can literally get teleported to the top of the train when you try to stand up. The passenger carriages are poorly modeled, and you often get stuck in them.

Lot of bugs in this game the trains won't even run have the time. Limited routes and details. Excellent details on the train and locomotive cab. But horrible routes rolling stock and sound. I was not happy it costed me so much money and I barely get trains to run and the routes didn't have much detail.

I like that this game has so many options to how you want to play it. Free roam, scenerios, and journey as well as just being a passenger and enjoying the scenery make this a good choice if you are looking for a laid back game. I have 2 problems with it, however. First, documentation sucks, if you can find it. Secondly, the price of the add-ons and which ones go with what area without looking at each one individually.

Still the odd bug here and there, but Train Sim World (TSW) has come a long way. It’s now genuinely enjoyable to drive, with immersive sounds, great graphics, and a wide variety of routes. Whether you’re into driving, conducting, trainspotting, or just riding as a passenger, there’s plenty of fun to be had. That said, it’s not perfect—and I say this as someone who really enjoys the game. One of the biggest weaknesses is the tutorials. They’re painfully basic and only cover the bare minimum: how to start and stop the train. That’s fine for total newcomers, but there’s very little guidance for players who want to dive deeper into realistic operations or learn the specific onboard systems of each train. Take the ICE-T, for example. There’s no tutorial or documentation explaining how GNT works—a completely new system that’s never been simulated before. Yet for some reason, features like this are disabled by default, with no real explanation of what they do or how to use them. And this isn’t just a one-off. Across many trains, key systems that should be active by default are switched off, and they’re either ignored entirely in the tutorials or only touched on in the most basic way. It breaks immersion and can be frustrating for players who want to follow real-world procedures and understand the full depth of the train’s functionality. Diesel trains are another example—while I haven’t tried every single one, I did notice issues when driving the BR642 German diesel multiple unit. The engine shutdown buttons didn’t respond, and many cab features seemed non-functional or purely cosmetic. This appears to be a broader issue across various trains in TSW, where onboard computers and other systems don’t actually do much. It gives the impression that these functions are just for show, which is disappointing and makes the trains feel a bit lifeless compared to what they could be. Still, despite these limitations, TSW has improved a lot and offers a solid experience overall. I’m posting this in the hope that someone on the dev team sees it and considers adding more in-depth guidance for players who want more than just the basics—for those of us who really want to get stuck into how these machines work. What makes this more frustrating is knowing that more realistic systems can be done—other simulators have shown it’s possible, even within technical or performance limits, and even some TSW addons manage to do it better than others. That inconsistency suggests it’s a conscious design choice to keep things simplified, likely to appeal to a more casual or arcade-leaning audience. But with TSW now dominating the train sim market—and with Train Sim Classic left behind and largely non-functional for many long-time users—it’s reasonable to ask for more depth. If you want us to stick with TSW for the long haul, there needs to be more realism and respect for the hobby’s serious side too. P.S. It would also be great to see working EBuLa systems on German trains. These add a big dose of realism and are far more engaging than relying on HUD overlays.

It actually relaxing game. I bought this sim cause I love sim game. At first it really bored me, since so many tools in it. But after played so many hours I found it fun. My best train so far is BNSF, since it manual. PS: I hate german's train (it's extremely safe train so that hard to operate

I am a professional passenger train driver, and found this game highly entertaining. No, it isn't as detailed as the train simulators we use at work, but it can be used to learn all the basic systems.

enable DX12 for higher fps and more stable gameplay !!! i have been playing TSW since the CSX Heavy Haul days in 2018 ,and something which didnt change over the last 7 years is the random shutters and jitters especially when running a route for the first time i highly recommend running a route from end to finish as secondman or passenger to load up things properly this way you will get the least stutters and fps drops ,and ofc do enable -DX12 in steam properties

If you have a raildriver, you will be disappointed. DTG has paid very little attention to fully integrating it. The settings go in and out on a whim and each setting cannot be fully trusted to remain calibrated. The travel of the levers is not spaced correctly and do not travel to the full length available. Everything is different each time you play the game. I can also blame the raildriver itself! It has not been updated or cared about since it was first released. At best, it is a toy and not to be taken seriously. All that said, the raildriver was developed for Train Simulator and worked well in that environment. But it's almost useless in TSW.

I normally play TSC 2024 but purchased this on a whim as it was cheap. I'm not technical and I'm not even an experienced gamer so all I can say is It's different, the graphics are more realistic, I like the HUD, nice scenery, startup procedures give it a bit more interest, the sounds seem Ok. I have an average spec machine but have no problems running it, trees and things pop up here and there as you are going along but that doesn't bother me. Two things bother me. Spending forever at a standstill (Class 350/1) staring at the red box throttle lock. I read the manuals, do the training, check the help lines, go on line, You Tube, scrape the internet, try at least ten different recommended ways to get the thing moving, exit and reload etc etc then decide life is too short and give up. I mean, why is it such a mystery? It's supposed to be fun but this ain't fun. I tried getting out and kicking the wheels but that didn't help either. Also, the price of the DLC is crazy, 39€ for a route? Yes people say wait for the sales so maybe i will and maybe i won't. Edit. Seems a thumbs down was a bit harsh so thumbs up but buy when on a sale.

Ok so first up I do recommend, but only if you are careful. btw its showing 82hrs played but thats bc of yearly releases. i have over 600 hrs played in this franchise. I have been part of this community for a few years. 1. Tip. Only buy the game versions after easter with heavy discounts. then you can usually get 3 routs for 13€ which is a good deal. 2. wait for reviews before buying stuff, and think about what you want to do in that route and if it is worth that price to you. I recommend DC 4260 productions for reviews, he makes some good points. (https://www.youtube.com/@DC4260Productions) 3. most dlcs will receive a discount of at 30% usually 50% or more at some point. if you are willing to wait, you can save a lot of money 4. don't have hope this game gets better. treat it as it is staying like this forever. This wasn't really a review, just a few tips for if you really are interested. I hope it helps. I think if you follow the tips this game can be really enjoyable and i recommend. Also sorry if my english is bad, im not a native speaker. gl ppl
