Not as good as the first one. I wish they had added more Plasmids. Playing as Big Daddy is cool though. The best thing about this game is the multiplayer if you can find a lobby to play.

Surprisingly fresh and better than expected. It might be not as good as the original game , but it still earns solid 8 out of 10. Remember to save frequently as this loves to crash, crash, crash, cr...

hi 2k games can you stop spying on me? there's government agents outside of me house. this game is beautiful though, I like this and the remaster, but it does crash alot. Even with me on Windows 7, it barley runs. you should still play it, but perhaps on the XBOX or consoles, for me, it never crashed. only on computer.. 2k please the government is after me

First off, this game has an issue of crashing all of a sudden but was able to be fixed by setting the custom command -dx9 when launching the game. Other than that the story is pretty good and I love that I get to play as a prototype big daddy. Combat is greatly improved with the introduction a dual wielding weapons and plasmids. It's also highly recommended that you play Minerva's Den after the main storyline.

BioShock 2 is a decent game. I know some people liked it more than the first one, but I’m not one of them. I do enjoy the ending, and fighting the Big Daddies felt different this time around. There’s another boss-type enemy that shows up early on, and while I get what they were going for, I just found them more annoying than anything. The gameplay formula is still the same and works fine, and the story has its moments; but it just doesn’t hit the same as the first one.

Very cool to play as one of the Big Daddy ... BUT ... despite being a hulking creature with an armored diving suit, you suffer around 20% of your hp if you get smacked with an iron pipe ... Still, a solid sequel with a few new game mechanics to experience and more details added to the game's lore

All Bioshock is amazing. I think 2 is my least favorite of the three (Infinite then 1 being before 2). The game crashed after only 8 minutes. I'm going to try the Remastered version. But still, I'm leaving a positive review because the game is great!

Following the critical acclaim of the original BioShock was no small feat. With the original developers at Irrational Games stepping away, BioShock 2 could have easily drowned under the weight of its predecessor. Instead, it resurfaces as a surprisingly thoughtful sequel — one that trades shocking twists for emotional depth and refines the series’ combat while returning players to the haunting ruins of Rapture. Playing as a Big Daddy changes everything. In a bold move, BioShock 2 casts you as Subject Delta — an early prototype of the lumbering, iconic Big Daddies. Far from being a mindless brute, Delta is agile and emotionally tethered to a specific Little Sister, offering a fresh perspective and an unexpected sense of vulnerability. Combat is faster and more fluid than in the original, with the ability to dual-wield plasmids and weapons, making for a more dynamic and responsive gameplay loop. Combat is more refined. Where the first BioShock sometimes stumbled with clunky encounters, BioShock 2 makes moment-to-moment action more engaging. Hacking is smoother, enemy variety is improved, and the ability to lay traps for incoming splicers during Little Sister protection sequences adds a strategic layer that actually works. A more personal story. Though it lacks the revolutionary narrative twist of the first game, BioShock 2 tells a more intimate and morally nuanced tale. The relationship between Delta and Eleanor (your Little Sister) becomes the emotional core of the game, and your actions throughout genuinely influence her development. It’s a story about parenthood, identity, and sacrifice — told through plasmid-charged chaos and quiet moments of compassion. Sophia Lamb makes a compelling antagonist. While she doesn’t quite reach the iconic stature of Andrew Ryan, Lamb is ideologically opposite: a collectivist utopian who believes in the sacrifice of the individual for the “greater good.” Her calm demeanor masks a ruthless fanaticism that gives the story a chilling edge. Rapture is still Rapture — and that’s a good thing. The environments are beautifully detailed, eerie, and immersive. New areas like the decrepit amusement park "Ryan Amusements" or underwater segments that show Rapture’s desolate majesty help expand the city’s lore in meaningful ways. It feels safe in some ways. While BioShock 2 deepens its world and mechanics, it doesn’t take the bold narrative risks that defined its predecessor. It sticks closely to a proven formula, which makes it more consistent but less surprising. Multiplayer is forgettable. The addition of a full multiplayer suite — while novel — feels unnecessary. It’s not bad, but it doesn’t match the tone or sophistication of the single-player experience, and it’s largely been forgotten. Some pacing issues. The middle section of the game can drag a bit, especially if you're thoroughly harvesting ADAM or searching for upgrades. It can create uneven momentum between the story beats. BioShock 2 might not have been the sequel people expected, but it turned out to be the one Rapture needed. With tighter combat, a touching story, and deeper moral nuance, it stands tall in its own right. It may live in the shadow of the first BioShock, but it brings a human heart to the cold steel of the diving suit — and that’s something truly special. If you loved Rapture and want more than just a return trip — if you want to see it through a new lens — BioShock 2 is absolutely worth your time. Rating: 8/10

Here is my take First off I have been playing the Bioshock series ever since the Xbox 360 days, I practically grew up with them and they have a special place in my heart. The game DOES NOT have spyware/malware. People complaining about "They take your personal information..." Steam requires an email to sign up, it requires a credit card to buy games off their platform. Facebook, Tiktok and other social media sites have your email details, some even require your phone number like Whatsapp or Telegram you guys are fr beating a dead horse... Now the actual game itself, do yourself a favor a don't get the remastered version because you will crash every 5 minutes (tabbing out the game, cut scenes, going near little sister vents,,etc). I know a lot of people don't enjoy this game or think the original Bioshock is better but I honestly think the opposite this game feels more dark and sinister to me yes the original bioshock had an AMAZING twist to the story and was well written but I think Bioshock 2 is just as good story wise. I like the game play of Bioshock 2 more, I felt like the first game always felt cloudy for some reason idk lol, and the fighting just feels better in bioshock2 in my opinion. Anyways i love this game, and reccomend it highly.

As an addition to my review also left on the BioShock Remastered page. I now will leave one for BioShock 2. I am typing this mere moments away from finishing Minerva's Den. I for the most part enjoyed this game as a whole, but Minerva's Den was the standout. I enjoyed the atmosphere and the story much more than the standard campaign. I will probably change my tune if I play the remastered version. I hope that version fixed alot of the crashing problems that plagued this version. But that was the huge turnoff for me with this version, as well as some really freaky audio problems that I had. I am unsure what the problem is, but the audio has this very strange effect almost like the game is processing audio for surround sound but the speakers aren't there, even though it was set to Stereo the whole time. As such it was much harder for me to hear simple things such as enemies behind me or even next to me without turning to hear them. Any sound effects had this problem, from cameras to enemies even NPC audio just acted bizzare and really detracted from my experience. I was mixed on the revisions they made to the plasmid and heath systems. I liked that a eve and heath pack no matter what filled their respective bar fully compared to the original. But to be fair I didn't hate that design in the first game. Then to change the "expert" perks to add another slot to your inventory felt really boring. Better off to have left those 2 perks out completely, then make another hidden pickup to increase the holding capacity. Plasmids now are bundled into 2 different categories, compared to the original's 4. But in order to accomplish this, the price for adding more slots increases the more you buy, it caught me off guard once I noticed the price jump. It almost felt like ideas were running thin on how to add or change plasmids between the 2 games. Some of them I really felt like they should have been removed or re-worked to fit the environment better. Namely the bug one, no bees anywhere in this story so context is strange if you haven't played the first one to figure out what it is. There is a ton more little details that put me off compared to the original. But for now i'll just end with this. I still need to play the remastered version and Infinite to get a proper comparison between all the games. But my rating lineup is as follows. Bioshock 1, Minerva's Den, Bioshock 2. Still a good game, but not as good as the first one. When the time comes I still need to figure out if the achievements for the online mode are still possible to get. Yikes. Rating with the DLC 7/10.
