Woke Up in a Mansion With No Memories and Immediately Started Collecting Trauma Butterflies
I don’t know what I expected.
But it wasn’t this.
Psychedelica of the Black Butterfly throws you into a haunted Victorian murder house with five emotionally unstable men, a ghost voice telling you to shoot butterflies, and zero warning.
Day one?
No name, no memories, but plenty of vibes. ✨
It’s like someone made an otome game, then panicked halfway through and rewrote the whole thing as a tragic group therapy session with floral overlays.
Highlights include:
✅ Beautiful art and UI so pretty I forgave half the pacing issues
✅ A soundtrack that deserves a Grammy and a long hug
✅ Soft boys with swords and abandonment issues
✅ A friendship route that lowkey wrecked me more than the romance
✅ Genuinely painful death scenes. Like, “I’m gonna need to stare out a window for a while” painful.
BUT—
❌ The pacing is pure chaos. First act: banger. Second act: nap. Third act: *trauma lore dump in all caps.*
❌ The romance is less “fall in love” and more “you trauma-bonded in a murder mansion, good luck with that.”
❌ You will spend 70% of this game opening the flowchart like it’s a crime scene.
❌ Emotional damage delivered via butterfly fragments. Absolutely feral design choice.
This isn’t a dating sim. This is a tragic fever dream dressed like a visual novel.
You *will* cry.
You *will* fall in love with boys who need therapy.
You *will* wonder if you accidentally joined a cult.
Final Thoughts:
It’s a mess. A beautiful, broken, overdramatic mess.
6/10 if you’re here for romance.
7.5/10 if you’re here to get emotionally steamrolled by friendship and guilt.
Would I recommend it? Not to normal people.
But if you’ve ever looked at a broken mirror and whispered, “same,” then yeah. This one’s for you.
