I'm kinda surprised at all the negative reviews. I like bullet hell and survivor-like games quite a bit, and I thought this was fun. It's not a super deep game, and you aren't really playing this for a bunch of progression. This is more of a quick pick up game that you play from time to time. If you pick this up on sale, I think it's a great game to have for some times when you aren't sure what you want to play, but you know you want to do something that doesn't require a ton of thought. This is much more frantic than most of the survivor-likes on the market. You are running for your life at a high rate of speed and rocking out to the booming synthwave soundtrack. A run consists of multiple waves. Each wave is very quick. I'm talking like 30 seconds quick, maybe a minute on longer ones. The 10th wave contains a boss. My only gripe with this game is that you cannot remap the gamepad keys, and they put dash on A. They also gave you an option for manual aim and manual shoot in the settings menu. I really like manual aim, and wanted to play that way but now my thumb is on the right thumbstick, and since I cannot remap dash I have to stop aiming to dash and then go back. I would have preferred dash be on RT or something like that, or better yet just let me remap the keys. Eventually I just turned off manual aim and played on full auto. It still works, but like I said I wish I could use the manual aim. The spell crafting I thought was fun. Very cool little idea, and definitely has repercussions. You need to understand what you are doing, because the more stuff you add, the less frequently you trigger... so it becomes a balance of effects vs spell count, and all of it has to fit on your board. Anyway, if you like survivor likes, jamming to synthwave, and letting your mind wander for a bit while you run in circles, this is your game. It deserves a better rating that mixed, if you ask me.
