UPDATE: I do feel a little annoyed that the developer promised features and did deliver on them but they are completely broken. I.E. the player editor. A lot of the negative reviews are mad that the game didn't come with tons of new features in early access. It did launch at the full release with those features but only some of which even work. I still recommend the game to people who don't already own the previous iteration, but do NOT buy this if you already own the 2022 version. The developer could fix 99% of the issues if they just added workshop support. I know it isn't as easy as clicking a box, but the community will do the work to fix the problems with the game if you just allow it. My review will remain negative until the player editor works.
Just off of launching it and playing for a few minutes, it's very clear that there are some huge upgrades over last year's version.
The new UI is much better
The new scouting system is very interesting and fun despite being broken at the moment. (although it might be better if it were optional to have enabled like other team management games do)
New teams added to the China region to make it more realistic, and new champions added.
The games and stat lines are much much more realistic now, especially when two equal teams play. It's not just a blowout every game, it is actually intense now.
The balance patches and ability to check pick, ban, KDA, and win rate of champions is a fantastic addition.
That being said, there is still a lot that needs to be improved on.
The new in game map is very unappealing.
[strike] The rosters still need to be updated and are from the 2022 split. [/strike] FIXED
Teams and players are too willing to transfer anybody.
Minor U.I. bug where the advance day button is in the top right corner even when in draft.
T1 signs any player you put on the transfer market.
There's also a very rare bug in champ select that makes it so you cannot pick/ban a champion unless you leave/enter a different sorting to find that champion. Not sure what causes this but it's very minor and not a huge deal.
[strike] For whatever reason some of the ratings just don't make sense. Just using BLG for example, Elk and Bin are both bad in the game and ON is good when in real life ON is the player that holds the team back, Elk is an elite ADC, and Bin is arguably the best player in the world. [/strike] POTENTIALLY FIXED WITH PLAYER EDITOR ADDED HOWEVER EDITOR IS BUGGED
I'd also love to see a simulate option added at some point. Sometimes I am not always interested in coaching and taking the time to go through every single game and would just prefer to manage a team.
I look forward to giving this a more positive review as development continues, but in the current form, I only recommend this to people who haven't already purchased the previous iteration.
