I've played Wild Terra 1 for quite a while and liked it enough to give WT2 a try. But it just is no fun. I am a casual gamer so play on PvE. And the PvE server is a very generic flat landscape full of camps. One next to the next to the next. And the map is zones, so there is animal and trees etc x and y in this area and animal/trees etc abc in this area ... It feels sterile and artifical. So you can't as in in WT1 spend your time leisurely exploring the landscape and hunt animals and maybe run from the bear or such that pops up. No, you spent almost all your time trying to walk around camps and in between camps and buildings. The space is so limited and resource gathering so boring/tedious as there are so few empty spots with resources that I don't feel at all like expanding my camp. The higher level zones are flat and boring as well, no camps but still ... sterile/artificial. The "quests" are utterly generic "bring/chop/kill ...". Most things are behind grind-level-barriers. Which means I need to grind by walking around all these camp buildings trying to find free spots with resources to then grind more of that. Don't get me wrong, in WT1 it is already grindy. But at least you have space and wilderness. WT2 feels like you are in Tokyo or Hongkong or such, every spot is occupied and there are only scraps. This is NO FUN.
As a casual I appreciate it that now you don't loose your camp when you where gone for a while as in WT1, that was my main reason for not playing after a while, I have too much things offline going on for that. Now it is packed together, which is nice. But I log back in, see it is still all crowded and log right back out again.
