Heart of the Woods

Hello everyone! Just your friendly neighborhood Himejoshi lesbian here! Spoiler alert on this review: I rate it 5/5 stars. Now onto why I give it 5/5 stars... This is one of the first yuri VNs I think of when people ask me to recommend one. For one, I am a huge fan of supernatural/fantasy elements in media I consume. Yes, I'm a nerd, but so are most Himejoshis. Without revealing too much, I love how the initial characters Tara and Maddie play off each other personality wise. Maddie is a skeptic, and Tara kind of drags her into her "Taranormal" show. Tara is very funny, and Maddie tends to be quite stoic. I also love that the game is entirely voiced by the voice actors and that Tara (who is trans*) is voiced by someone who is also trans*! But I digress... The yuri couples that end up together have a lot of chemistry and it feels very natural, but it's also not the main premise of the story. I really like when yuri VNs have an amazing plot and the yuri couple(s) just end up together without it feeling forced. I also liked when you see the relationship unfold after the characters officially get together, instead of the story just ending afterwards. Another aspect of the game that deserves to be mentioned is the fact that the choices made at the end have a HUGE impact on the ending you get. It makes the game feel that much more interactive. To summarize: If you are considering buying this VN to play, you should've done it yesterday!
