A beaituful and emotional journey
Rating ★★★★☆ The art style and ambience of this game are truly top-tier. The music is haunting and really pulls you into the game world. Even the menu is visually stunning. The movement and traversal felt good, although the jumping seemed a little off to me at first but I eventually became used to it. The abilities are well thought out, with an easy to understand UI and progression system. The same can be said for the level design, with obstacles and challenges easy enough to overcome with a touch of logic and imagination. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3499345831 Despite all my praise for this game, I still have to admit I felt a little drained by the end. Not from the heartbreaking story, but from my countless deaths. ⠀

Ori and the Blind Forest, developed by Moon Studios, is a game that doesn’t just aim to entertain—it aims to move you. Equal parts platformer, exploration adventure, and emotional journey, this indie gem combines tight gameplay with jaw-dropping artistry to create something truly special. At its core, Ori and the Blind Forest is a story about loss, growth, and the delicate balance of nature. You play as Ori, a small guardian spirit separated from the Spirit Tree and thrust into a dying forest filled with danger and mystery. Without spoiling much, the opening 10 minutes hit with Pixar-level emotional weight, and the game never lets go of its strong narrative thread. The story is told with minimal dialogue, relying instead on sweeping visuals, haunting music, and expressive animation to convey emotion. It’s a masterclass in environmental storytelling. Ori is a “Metroidvania” at heart, emphasizing exploration, backtracking, and unlocking new abilities to access previously unreachable areas. But where it truly shines is in its controls. Ori is responsive, agile, and a joy to maneuver—whether you're wall-jumping through spiked caverns or performing intricate escape sequences. Combat is light but satisfying, and the game introduces mechanics at just the right pace to keep things fresh. The save-anywhere "Soul Link" system adds a strategic layer to the challenge, allowing players to control their own checkpoints in a game that can be punishing but never unfair. Simply put: Ori and the Blind Forest is one of the most beautiful games ever made. Hand-painted environments, fluid animations, and a dreamlike aesthetic make every frame worthy of a screenshot. The forest world feels alive, glowing with bioluminescent magic and shadowy depth. Complementing the visuals is Gareth Coker’s sweeping orchestral score. The music elevates every moment—whether it’s a quiet lull or a frantic escape—with emotional resonance and grandeur. Ori and the Blind Forest isn’t just a game—it’s an experience. It blends challenging platforming with a touching story and a breathtaking world. Every element feels handcrafted with love and purpose, creating a journey that lingers long after the credits roll. Pros: -Gorgeous, painterly visuals -Smooth, responsive platforming mechanics -Emotional, non-verbal storytelling -Masterful soundtrack -Memorable set pieces and pacing Cons: -Some difficulty spikes may frustrate casual players -Limited combat depth compared to other Metroidvanias A soulful symphony of light and loss, Ori and the Blind Forest stands as one of the finest platformers of its generation. It’s a game that’s as moving as it is mesmerizing, and a must-play for fans of meaningful, beautifully crafted experiences. Rating: 9/10

Game is beautifully done, but you're going to have to be okay with dying a bajillion times before you're successful in completing some challenges, which can be frustrating. Don't say you weren't warned

I enjoyed it. Metroidvania, 2D, exploration, interesting level design (somewhat) and the story was paced well. Part of the level design was a bit bland, but in the same way Metroid Dread is with those black insides to the walls. It is fine, maybe I am nitpicking too much. Get the game. Good time.

love this series it one of my favourites. i played the definitive edition first then came back to this and its still very fun. Not being able to teleport was interesting and made exploration and shortcuts that much more interesting to use.

The second game, Will of the Wisps, is a bit better, to me. But still, if you wanted to get the full Ori experience, Blind Forest is pretty good. It's a sad game, lol.

Good balance among difficult Jump-Jump-Fun (platform jumping), interesting interaction with various elements, and excellent art (graphic and music).
Ori and the Blind Forest – 100% Completion Review
All achievements earned, every secret found, every skill point unlocked, all map completion goals reached Ori and the Blind Forest is a masterclass in emotional storytelling and mechanical precision, wrapped in painterly beauty. Completing everything is not just a checklist. It is a full immersion into a world that bleeds heart and polish at every frame. You play as Ori, a spirit guardian thrust into a dying forest, trying to restore balance and light. The story is light on dialogue but heavy on impact. Wordless cinematics, gentle narration, and an unforgettable score create moments that hit harder than most games twice its size. The platforming is sublime. Every ability feels meaningful and perfectly tuned. Double jumps, wall climbs, and the signature bash mechanic combine into elegant movement that makes even backtracking a joy. Unlocking everything encourages mastery and rewards exploration. The level design is tight, with every zone looping back into itself seamlessly. The escape sequences are iconic. These handcrafted gauntlets push reflexes to the limit and never rely on trial-and-error. Finishing all of them without dying is a genuine accomplishment. Visually, it is breathtaking. Every area is hand-drawn and full of color, motion, and life. The soundtrack is equally powerful, swelling at just the right moments to elevate gameplay and story beats alike. Ori is not just a beautiful game. It is beautifully made.

Isn't worth the price and rage. You have to tell it 100 times to do 1 simple jump, and by the time you do it, the Ori thing decides to die on you. Monsters come back to soon so you get killed by them. You have to look up a tutorial in order to figure out where u need to go since the game isn't in English. It shouldn't be hard to jump from the ground up to 1 ledge. Never playing this game again until its fixed! NOT WORTH BUYING! DON'T BUY THIS GAME!!!!

I think Ori1 need great operation. If you are tracked in a place, you may exit the game and return to play after several hours or a day. Also, I think the relationship of Ori and Naru is very emotional, and the friendship of Ori and Gumo is also soft. Another, Ori and Sein fight togerther that make me exciting. It's important to metion is the BGM, which is so powerful. Especially, the part of Silver Tree leave me an unforgettable impression. At the end, Kuro was touched by Ori and Naru, and returned Sein to the tree, so that is a happy ending.
