I will change this to positive once the game gets optimized. But the really low performance makes it difficult for me to recommend it to anyone at all at this point. The rest is great, just small bugs and tweaks as well as general content and this game is good to go, AFTER they have optimized it. Not like this, not like this...

I really want to love this game but between the lag I get when flying and the fact I just lost progress because the save and quit function isn't working properly make me wish this had improved since last I played. SAVE SAVE and SAVE again maybe then your file will save properly. I wish there was a MEH for recommend section

I'd love to enjoy this game right now, but currently the tuning on combat and finding items is too frustrating, and as of the most recent patch it randomly freezes constantly even on low graphics despite previously working fine on high.

Aloft so far has been a pleasantly enjoyable game, I haven't had this much fun in an exploration/building game since Subnautica. The game has been extremely fleshed out and based on the size of the map it looks like it'll be at least a 50 plus hour game if you casually play through it. I know it's still early but the enemies need to be harder. Although at the start they're kind of hard they don't get too much harder as you get stronger through progression. There are definitely optimising issues but it is to be expected for an early access game. Large story based islands gives a drop in frames but it is still playable. I also found very few glitches.

I really wish I could have played this game more, but it crashed every time I saved and every time the game auto-saved! I even verified the integrity of the game files, which solved the issue temporarily (I was able to save twice in a row), but the game crashed again after I flew on my glider the first time and tried to save on the first island I landed on. I did get a refund, but I hope this issue gets resolved as the game did seem interesting at the very beginning.

I'm giving this game a positive vote because there are many elements that are well-realized and the building mechanics are top notch. There are good bones and potential here, a colorful and pleasing graphical style, positive feelz, and the whole turning a floating island into an airship thing is very original and appreciable. Also this is a rare example of a game that does not bother you with item durability. But other than that - at the moment - Aloft is a very shallow and kind of boring title. And i'm not a guy who gets bored easily. There are only faint traces of story or lore, a very vague trail to follow, and the things you have to do island per island are a dreary, repetitive grind that leaves you absolutely famished for anything new, which you never get until the very end (of the current content). With the exception of a few unique hand-crafted places, the islands all look alike. There's three biomes but the only difference between two of them is basically just the color of the grass and trees. I explored them all because of my own maniacal perfectionism, but i had zero practical reason to do it. After that there is zero post-game, and the challenge factor is almost non-existent, with kindergarten level combat against enemies that look and act goofy at best. So yeah, ì give it a try if you like the genre, but only on sale, and don't expect much.

I am running into an issue with lag. Windows is up to date. GPU is up to date. I will need to refund for now until the lag issue is fixed one day. Game seems fun for the two hours I put into it. So if you get it and there is no lag, nice. System specs that I have run more demanding games without issue. I'm not sure why my computer or the game is having the lag spikes every 25 seconds or so. Frustrating. 32 gigs of RAM, GPU has over 16 gigs. GPU is a Ryzen 9 7900x.

This game is my absolute favorite right now. I think I have "beaten" it but I love the random islands. Even the quest ones vary as to how big and diverse they spawn in for each world you create. I restarted 2 times just because I realized a mechanic I overlooked and did not regret the change to a new world. I believe this game has a lot of replay ability. I only wish they allow more than 3 shared islands as I find many that are unique enough for me to want more than that. Even if they require you only keep 3 active I would be okay with that.

The flying is delightful, the exploration is a lot of fun, and the combat is just interesting and challenging enough not to be boring. The base building and farming parts don't take a lot of time and are as fun as you want them to be.

I tried the game, its an awesome game, however I had issues trying to type stuff as the game bugs out, especially when pressing escape the game minimises? Not sure what really is going on. But I like the game a lot.

My husband and I have been searching for another game like Raft and this one is perfect! Take to the skies instead of the seas and simple, pretty design and easy, fun game play make this a winner for sure!

The game is enjoyable. It almost gives the same vibe as Minecraft's earlier days. Some cool things to build the game off of. Updates will keep the game going if done right. I would like to see 'Sky Pirates' with functioning (if barely?) islands (working sails, loot chest etc.) would give the game a more lived in feel. Like the movie Waterworld with the 'Smokers' but in the sky.

Honestly really fun to play. Flying feels really good, creating a base is super fun, the farming and ranching mechanics are nice. I haven't gotten super far into it but there's already SO much content to get through. The crafting and building is awesome, my only gripe is how you learn to build workstations and upgrades. While it's cool to learn them through exploring, it's possible to learn several stations/upgrades before learning the ONE station you need to access all of them. (ie: I've learned a ton of wool sails and workstations, but havent learned the loom, which lets me actually create the items needed to access them) So maybe some minor fixes to make progression a little cleaner, make it so you get certain builds after a certain amount of knowledge stones / anchors. Otherwise, ITS REALLY ADDICTING! I'm having a lot of fun! :D

20 Hours of content, you've seen nearly everything after 4. The rest is just unlocking different types of the same items for hours on end, on only a few island designs that repeat over and over. It has a cool core concept and the game loop is alright, but the content is just too thin for me to recommend. Wait for a few major content patches.

Surprisingly fun. Getting you're first island up and running is very satisfying. Core gameplay loop becomes repetitive very quickly, ESPECIALLY healing sick islands. Pleasantly surprised, went in with low expectations.

My husband and I have been playing early access and we've really enjoyed it so far. It's cozy, adventurous and we have been having a blast upgrading our islands to fly wherever the winds may take us.

Bought this as soon as it popped up on my store page because I loved the concept, finally got around to playing it for the first time yesterday and stayed up too late playing for 4 hours straight. It's Early Access, so expecting that (and having played a TON of EA Survival games) I'm really excited by the potential this one has. Very cozy feeling, love the graphics and art style, flying feels good and easy to get the hang of. Obviously content will be a bit lacking having had only 1 major update, but again that's to be expected with EA titles. Overall I recommend grabbing this game to support its development because it's a really fun and unique concept. I'm excited to see how it continue to develop!

Great for playing a relaxing crafting RPG, where you can come home after work and not have to think about anything. Only drawback is that some of the Islands are just recycled, so it can get repetitive. Just waiting for more content!

Just no. Don't waste your money like that. Nothing works well. I understand it's early access but I feel like I am playing a beta test. Items in this game are ridiculously hard to find. Resources are scarce. It's super fun flying around from island to island but if you stray too far, you will die and lose all your items. can you imagine? Dying mid air and not having a death bag. Ouch. I enjoyed certain aspects of the game, such as flying around, decorating any island you land on, sailing around on an entire island as your ship. If you want a deco, base building game, sure go for it. Otherwise. Just no.

PROS: Good survival game, good home building and farming, satisfying flying and jump base and transport. CONS: Death doesn't give any penalty and you just can die and come back and continue the fight basically, no hunger system, not many character upgrade options for the very first hours (I don't even know if I can upgrade my armor, weapons, tools, but I have a huge ship with all the animals).

Not sure why you fly islands, it's the biggest drawback in this game. Flying an entire Island should be something for end game. An Island where all your ships can dock but you need some massive sails to fly it. Because it's that heavy and slugish But here you put basic sh*t on it and off you go... There is no sence of flying also because you fly a big *ss rock. If every thing on you island breaks, it stops. Riviting game play If you fly a ship you can have all kinds of things happen. You can also make different kinds of ships. It would be more fun to have to crash land on an island and repair your ship. Be attacked by pirates or what ever and having your friends franticly build an extra engine/sail just so you can escape. But wait, how can you then farm I hear you say. I can't plant everything on an island and just have it stay there. It's called a base in any other game, but here it's doesn't make sence to fly that base around. Why would you make anything else? To explore? Worlds Adrift was far better then Aloft.

Ok, while I still recommend this game, I give it 3/5 stars. Pros: Absolutely gorgeous! Interesting spin on the survival genre Love love love flying my own island around! Crafting and building are solid Cons: Controls feel...mushy (don't know how else to describe it) Crashes VERY frequently--never the same thing twice, either Honestly, the crashing is what really drags it down for me. I don't run a potato of a PC and can handle the game on the highest settings no problem. There's never one thing I can point to and say, "Yep, that thing crashes my game every time." I can sit and play for three hours no problem, then the next time I'm crashing every 5 minutes on things I just did in my last session. GREAT game, and if you can get past the crashing issues, then totally do yourself a favor and pick it up.

I have really enjoyed this game when it works. I will get maybe an hour of gameplay before the game will crash and fully restart my computer. The last save file will also be corrupted so I lose progress. I have stopped playing all together because of this issue and do not plan to play further if it is not resolved. Game devs do not seem to be doing anything about this issue either so I've been super disappointed.

I wanted to like the game but its just stupid. I am gatekeeped at first by the wool cloth station. I have 2 big yellow POIs i cant get because in the end I am gatekeeped by not able to coat my weapon with something and cant find the coating station on the third outer zone. This is just stupid. Even if I find it I have to go back to the 2 yellow POIs. Also fighting is just too irritating. Zero fun. UPDATE: Gave it another 9 hours and figured how to proceed. This gatekeeping I understand but the progress is just too little to be satisfactory. It has a long way to be in a league with Valheim. Currently I am just trying to speedrun it but even this is tedious. Also it runs really really bad - all low 2k with 30-60 fps with 3070 & 5800x.

Out of all the sky exploration games, I found this to be the best of its genre in its current state. I really enjoyed the exploration and building elements. Other than the lack of multiple horizontal/vertical building, this also has one of the best build systems I've experienced and I was quite impressed with it.

I LOVE this game! It reminds me of Subnautica but with Air instead of water. You can design a GORGEOUS island and then FLY it to all the other islands looking for new animals, plants, foods and supplies. I have made some incredible tree houses with walk ways in the air to the next tree. If you like to explore, search & build, then this game is a MUST!!

I've been playing Aloft for a several hours now, and I have to say—it’s one of the most refreshing survival games I’ve tried in a long time. Instead of the usual grim, gritty survival experience, Aloft feels calm and creative. The floating islands are gorgeous, and the fact that you can literally turn any island into a flying ship is such a cool mechanic. Building is where the game really shines. There are tons of parts and customization options, and the sketchbook system makes discovering new blueprints feel meaningful. I’ve spent hours just designing my perfect sky-base. Co-op with friends makes it even better, especially when you're all working together to restore corrupted islands. That said, it’s definitely still in Early Access. Some of the exploration feels a bit repetitive, and I've hit a few bugs and crashes here and there. Combat is pretty minimal too, which might be a pro or a con depending on what you're looking for. Still, I’m really enjoying it overall. If you’re into chill, creative games with a unique twist, Aloft is worth checking out—especially if you have a few friends to float through the skies with. Looking forward to seeing how it evolves!

This is such a beautiful game. The music is amazing, the ambiance is captivating, and it just tickles a little itch in my brain for base building. It's definitely something I'd recommend playing, well worth the price. It has a certain meditative property that just soothes the soul. Sure, it can feel tedious at first, and there are definitely some things that cause more stress. Early game resource management isn't amazing, and restoring ecosystems can be difficult, but I think that's just because of the unexpected learning curve that this game has with base building to exploring ratios. You really do have to balance them, and take in the whole world. I wish more people would play this game, and I wish it was a recognizable title. It certainly deserves it.
