visually appealing game and i like the game design, but i just can't get into the message behind it. despite some of the comments calling this game introspective and thought provoking, I personally found it nothing but a horrible example of fetishising a girl's suffering. it's very clearly tailored towards a male audience, with the player character being gender neutral but heavily implied to be male through subtext (Ame repeatedly states her attraction towards men with no mention of women or other genders, and the intimacy option represented by very clearly gendered colours). yes, the representation of bpd is realistic, but rather than "here is what someone with severe mental health issues goes through" the game is more like "here is all the things i can do to this mentally unstable girl - and she's obsessed with me". the game is not much about her suffering and her experiences, but rather the player's authority and power over her. the devs build this image of the perfect and super hot girl, and then decides she's too perfect and out of their league, so they give her bpd in an attempt to make her seem less perfect and also conveniently obsessed with the player character. the only good ending is where she stops streaming for her mental health and prepares for a certification test irl - but even so, the game frames it like it's a bad thing.. as if it is bad that she is no longer constantly on the verge of a breakdown and posing an active risk to herself and the people around her?? it truly seems like the devs wanted a manic unstable pixie girl to fit their biggest wet dreams rather than a happy and healthy human. if that's your thing, fine! But for the girls who are potentially reading this - instead of romanticising your suffering through self objectification, please consider getting real help like therapy and medical assistance. you are special and gorgeous without suffering, and you deserve to live a good life! your suffering is benefitting no one but the people who get a kick out of manipulating and abusing you in a vulnerable state, which a lot of the players seems to do. men - if you've enjoyed this, please consider why and what that says about your views on women.

Great commentary on Internet issues and how chasing numbers affects one's personality. With each "run" I've encountered something new and I'll definitely come back one day for a replay. 4/5

this is basically what it feels like to be a teenage girl. all you really wanna do is post silly things on the internet, question existence and be loved but you just end up being extremely mentally unstable and seeking outside validation. i loved the game, which at times felt almost too real for me. please take only the recommended internet dosage. This game is kind of scary—but in a quietly unsettling way. Needy Streamer Overload pairs a cute, nostalgic aesthetic with a dark and emotionally intense story about internet fame and mental instability. The art style is beautiful, channeling the look and feel of the early internet era while blending in the hyper-modern obsession with streaming culture. You play as the protagonist’s partner, helping her rise to fame as “KAngel,” a chaotic and deeply unstable internet idol. Gameplay revolves around stat-building and management, trying to keep her mentally and physically stable while chasing internet clout. There are multiple endings, but it can be tough to reach the final day without everything spiraling out of control. The game doesn’t hold your hand, and that’s part of what makes it so fascinating—and disturbing. 🔻Important note: For anyone who’s impressionable or struggling with mental health—please understand that the behaviors shown in this game are not something to emulate. The relationship between the protagonist and her partner is deeply toxic, featuring manipulation, emotional dependency, self-harm, drug use, breakdowns, parasocial obsession, and a detachment from reality. This is a critique of internet culture and mental health, not a blueprint for how to live or love. If you’re into dark visual novels with branching paths, psychological themes, and a deceptively cute retro style, I’d definitely recommend this. Just be prepared: this game gets real heavy, real fast—and it doesn’t glamorize what it shows. Edit: don’t play this game on both steam deck and PC because endings do not save between the cloud so once i had got all the endings and should have gotten file 0 (the true ending) did not appear and I actually had to go and redo 7 endings this was very time consuming and disappointing. Also the way to fully beet the game is actually by completing all 17 other endings so please keep that in mind as that can become repetitive beer the end of this game.

really great game! one of my all time favorites, every ending is great, the game is replayable and the story is interesting. i could really resonate with ame, and those who are mentally ill like her can as well. i would recommend this game to those who like psychological horror and/or want a mentally troubled character to relate to :)

It does what it's trying to do, and that's cool. I think it's a good game. If you think you are ready for it, go play. Sadly it's not as good as I thought it was gonna be. I'm IN LOVE with the aesthetics, I think the gameplay is good, but the fact that it's more of an ending grinding simulator sucks. To make it worse, it's not as random as you think, even if such a high number of endings makes you think you have a lot of freedom, 95% of the players who got all the endings most likely did it the exact same way because there isn't much variety to that, as a result, the freedom is not really there, instead, it feels very scripted and linear. It's still good like I said, I don't have any other problems with the game itself.

While I did have fun going through it, getting a 100% was a bit of a pain in the ass, especially with some lazy achievements/endings. Ame really reminds me of someone I used to know who also had bpd, did drugs and had extremely similar behavior, but the game feels very fetishy about Ame a lot of the time and that felt kinda wrong while playing.

OMGGG!! this game is an experience to say the least, NSO is an incredible distillation of mental illness, addiction, and internet culture blended into one fucked up psychedelic smoothie that hits a little to close to home. 10/10 would recommend.

I fix her, but it's more than just that. After collecting all the achievements and endings, this game really made me feel what it’s like to experience mental illness. You become the only person she trusts, but the choices you make directly impact her fate. Whether you support her or make things worse, some ending really deliver a impactful message. Definitely very well psychological game experience, especially for gooner out there. If you play this game, I really highly recommend to achieve all the endings, read some guide if it needs.

The Developers Are (Probably) The Kind of Soulless Garbage Cash Grabbers That KAngel is, But That Just Makes it Funnier in My Opinion. Oh, The Game Itself is Really Good Though. Themed My Whole PC Around it.

The game is amazing. It has loads of endings and you can't finish it in a short time. But at one point, the gameplay can become repetetive. Altho it may be amazing for me, it may not be for everyone. The dark themes and endings may disturb some players, therefor I recommend you do a bit of reaserch about it before buying it, especialy if your sensetive to such content.

I'd say that while I would quite honestly consider this game short purely because the micromanagement really isn't that bad especially considering each day counts as a save state, it's short in a way that you don't forget purely because of how much goes on in such little time and how much there is to do even if doing said things doesn't last all that long. It has it's impact, and I would say this game has a few good endings. The True Ending is what makes this game legitimately worth it, although I am yet to reach it and I may not out of laziness.

it was unironically very good with nice story play, background details as well small bits of lore when pieced together make sense and that unlike what it seems like to the outside view from video's it is not a gooner game and is very well written as I was one of those people who thought was and wanted to see what the fuss was about. its anagrams, philosophy, narrative actually paint a well made picture of the world of the main character and how the internet as well self loneliness hurts the self in all perspectives as well as the fact we pull a doctor strange with it but that pretty cool, 10/10 mfs are right its a depressing game meant for people with depression with a clear sign of anyone who plays this game is sad. Would forget and play again also side note favorite comment was "I cut myself too! now we're matching!"

wish i could play this again, sort of gave me the same feeling that playing ddlc for the first time did. great art, intriguing endings, amazing music, handles a lot of topics i haven't seen in other games and does it with ease. captures internet culture surprisingly accurate and really leans into the kawaii/sort of vaporwave aesthetic very nicely. this is not an average visual novel and really has a lot of passion put into it. keeps you interested with really only one character leading it (unless if you count the player). kangel/ame are such cute and unique designs, i used to draw them a lot in my classes only complaint is when getting more achievements/endings it starts to feel just a little bit grind-y. also i wish there was more endings 🙏 BLESS 🙏

you know...for the first 10 minutes of the game it was pretty fun, just clickin shi and listening to the wacky sound track this game has to offer, until i realized that this game was TERRIBLE mechanics wise. this game and me questioning why i was even playing this shit just because of how awful the mechanics are. the whole point of the game is to see how many times you can destroy this mentality ill girl's life up and you have to do it in the most specific manner possible or you will not progress at all. i mean this game had me lookin up yt tutorials, literally holding my hand thought out the whole game. shi was not fun gng. Pro's: Drugs DONT PLAY THIS!!!!!! YOU'VE BEEN WARNED!!!!

The game is like a mirror. Whether you see yourself clearly or not… that’s the real game. It doesn’t ask you to win — it asks you to reflect. A mirror held up to the internet… and to yourself.

The way NSO is so colorful really makes it stand out. Ame/K-Angels designs are adorable which makes the sad nature of this game pop out more. It deals with heavy topics like mental issues and drug abuse in a disturbingly real way, There are so many various possible endings which show Ames personality from different angles really well. I love the whole cutesy vaporewave and harajuku design of everythig in the game! The gameplay is simple but fun. Awesome game overall! 🙏BLESS🙏

Sometimes the days glitch and I'm not sure why? Besides that I think it's a good, interesting game, even if it can feel a bit repetetive at times, I suppose it's just how every day must feel to real streamers as well. Update: To be fair I think the amount of hype that was around this game is what made me have false expectectations about it. I don't think the game is bad, but I think the final ending was a bit predictable (unlike the others). I like the idea, it's a new idea, something I haven't seen before. Is it replayable? no, it isn't meant to be. Did I have fun overall? Yes, I think I had some fun

it's good but very repetitive , the whole game is very cute and i like the way it looks and gameplay is unique however i do not like replaying it. i didn't really care about ame-chan/kangel either, something about her character and the mental health representation just is off to me and i can't exactly put my finger on what is causing that feeling . anyways yea it is a cool game but i honestly should've refunded when i had the chance because i will never play this again

This game is one of my favourites ever. I found this game a few years back but never thought of playing it, recently I actually bought it and not even as an understatement. This game has changed my life. The endings are all amazing, the character of Ame-Chan / Kangel is wonderful, the gameplay is addictive and most importantly the story moved me. I saw myself in Ame-Chan, I was mentally ill, and due to this I find myself not thinking I could have a real job. When I found out about streaming I aspired to do it, the only job I thought I could get, a way for people to love me. I found myself wanting to be Ame-Chan at times no matter how dark she got. But while playing this game I found myself also getting better, I took care of myself, I took my life into my own hands and not my disabilities. This game really inspired me to live a better life for myself, for Ame-Chan. This is a wonderful portrayal of the internet and streaming sphere and helping people empathise for those who fall down these paths, thank you to everyone who made this game I would truely recommend it to everyone!! (P.S sorry for the rambling and weird grammer, this is also my first ever review!! >w<)

Great game, worth playing all the way trough, is really depressing. I almost cried in more than one occasion. Behind a "cute" game with lot of modern humor, it lies the story of a young girl with a lot of unhealed trauma. She deserved better. 10/10 worth every penny.

While it does provide good commentary on the intersection of streamer culture and mental health, one major design flaw is that the psychological horror element losses effectiveness if you are required to do multiple playthroughs of the game. Otherwise, best ending is the Nymphomania ending

I love this game soo much I love how unique and re-playable this game is, the amount of endings in this game is genuinely unreal, and the requirements for them make it challenging for the user All of the dialogue and events are really interesting and make the user have think about on what to do, which is just really fun, and events being tied to some streaming options is a great concept and further adds thinking about each decision i also like how interactive this game is with the messenger and the twitter feed of the game, the messenger can be annoying at times but overall its a cool aspect of the game I heavily love the soundtrack and the music for some specific endings, one of my favourite soundtracks oat i also like the appearance and the visual effects of the game a lot overall this game is incredibly worth spending £12.39 on, such a well thought of and built game which will remain in one of my favourites

I can't possibly recommend Needy Girl Overdose if I take it as face value. And since I'm not good at "reading between the lines" (words have meaning no matter how many layers you are imagining as an attempt for playing devil's advocate). If you forget what the game is about, it's just a pretty decent and good looking sanity management game. But everything about the story (at least in the only ending I did), the character, the relationship with you, the comments, the activities, is gruellingly lacking of any form of empathy. And it totally obliterate any will in me in seeking a good message in all of that. There is too many hints that it has not been made with humanism but like a twisted fantasy. You are playing with a fetishized doll. Most of your interactions is deciding what to do with the doll. During the course of the game, the rather submissive girl will almost never take initiatives and just obey to you. Which results in an extremely umbalanced relationship where you are just playing with the life of someone so it doesn't turn Doki Doki. It reminds me a bit of Oshi no Ko in its satirical aspects. But OnK is really touching, because the writing demonstrate the gravity of the events happening in it and the characters are acting like humans. Needy Girl Overdose fails miserably at that, intentionally or not. It's just a massive "This girl want to suicide, lol ! Help her and who knows what will happen !!!". I'm not that much into streaming. I saw some female streamers and never saw the equivalent of the game of twitch conversations. I'm not sure which kind of stream you're supposed to watch to have an equivalent of the conversations the game provide but I haven't meet those. Even that just doesn't work, satire or not, it just fails. I don't really care about meta garbage and the shit people are imagining, this game is a race to the bottom . A failed Doki Doki power trip for males.
