This game is perfect in its simplistic design. - Toilet humour reigns supreme, The game never feels too serious or too sh*tposty, it finds a great balance between the two. - The artstyle adds a soulfull, rich and vibrant atmosphere. - The combat works incredibly with the Jump King system. - Incredible weapon variety, i haven't found one that isn't unique in its own way. most have unique skills which add an extra amount of variety of play. - The music is really catchy, joyful and goofy. Each listen brings a smile to my face. - The game keeps being updated and cared for after launch. - No boss feels samey, the times where they reused enemies i can count on my fingers. The enemy variety is incredible. Thank you devs for bringing me such an amazing game, i really hope it gets more media recognition because it deserves it. [EDIT] I'm proudly announcing this the best game i played in 2025, the Redcrown update added so much, i'm genuinely amazed at the quality of such an underground title

I never write reviews but this game deserves more attention. I loved Jump King and was definitely sceptical when I first saw this game, but the combat is really fun and the art style change has grown on me. If you're on the fence about it, you should definitely try it out, and if you've never played Jump King but like platformers and souls likes, you'll have fun with this game.

This is one of those you really admire the idea behind it. Suprisingly jump as a dodge really works well in souls-like as a main mechanic. And do not think this as a frustrating game. It is much more forgiving than original jump king in ways of punishment since you dont lose most of your progress with just one fall. Definetly give it a try if you are hesitating to try.

This is a good game for fans of soulslikes and difficult platformers, who don't balk at loss of progress. I just don't have the patience for it at the moment.
Such an insanely fun co-op game and unique game overall.
Expected half baked combat mechanics and a relatively short experience but the devs cooked! Great game design, boss battles, fantastic artstyle and charmy animations! Though it pains me theres zero animation blending between the weapon attacks to the idle animation.. While I wish there were more classic jump king platforming sequences, Jump King leans more towards a action adventure rpg this time around. It works great as a bit more of a casual experience and the world is a blast to explore along friends! My only real complaint is that the shield surf mechanic feels pretty underused and that the after a couple hours the servers accumulates some lag. However we seemed to solve it by just quitting to main menu and starting another session. There are some other quite minor unpolished visuals and bugs, but the game is in a surprisingly polished state already. Given It's an early access I assume that they'll get on that sooner or later. With that said I'm looking forward the full release! I'm sure this game will become a hit by then, It's honestly just that good. All the best wishes to the dev team!

It’s really nothing like I’ve played before. There is quite a lot of content for a game in early access. I suggest at least trying it while it’s on sale if you’re on the fence about getting it.

It's jump king x dark souls and getting steadily improved. There's some things I personally dislike but this game WILL entertain you - if you are strong enough

I just bought this on a whim. I've played Jump King before, but Jump King never peaked my interest enough to complete it. When I found this one that merged Souls-like combat *and* jump king's platforming, I was in. I may be in the honeymoon phase with this game, but its been great fun so far. It wasn't until repeatedly going up against the Warden boss did this game really start to click with me. At first the genre fusion kinda clashes, but when it clicks it really finds its footing. Jump King Quest manages to keep its own personality, despite the slew of 2D souls likes that already exist. I'm not really one for online play, so I can't comment on that aspect of the game, but I like what's here.

Fun game to play with friends. Hopefully both of you are equally bad tho. Otherwise, you will have to wait a lot

EA Preliminary Impressions: Wow, they really went and made a whole game based around the most infuriatingly addicting mechanic ever conceived. From what I could gather, half the game utilizes the 'Worms' movement scheme (if you had infinite turns) while the other half plays like a more straight forward souls-borne. Either way, I'm either complete and utterly terrible at jumping or QWOP levels of hardship was really their artistic vision all along. Dear developers, if you're reading this, please consider adding a jump height/distance assist for those who would rather cut straight to the action. Call it 'accessibility mode' for all I care. On a more somber note, I feel a sad sort of sympathy towards my guy Stomping Tom's tireless attempts for the top, springing up just before plummeting to the ground face-first time and again, almost like he's either unable or unwilling to learn from his many fumbles. Watching him repeatedly suffer the same painful punishment despite having only the best intentions is in a way, cathartic and disturbingly close to home.

- Babe, can we have dark souls? - We have dark souls at home. I don't typically write reviews, but this one deserves a recommendation. For an avid soulslike player with no proper platforming experience - it's an interesting mechanic learning curve, with a favourable appreciation-to-frustration ratio. There are a few spots that might hinder the progress for a moment (chugging bog water after a Trusty Patches cameo and [strike] jumping [/strike] falling back to reach Zanzibart), but once you get in the rhythm it gets easier. Played offline for solo experience - so I can't say much about online functionalities - but I was pleasantly surprised with how well it is built already. It can be punishing but it's well scaled and reasonably easy to learn. Boss fights aren't too gimmicky (nor too spongy) and were the most enjoyable part of the game for me. Progression makes sense and despite somewhat metroid-driven map discovery (which I personally usually dread over), there isn't much backtracking necessary. Silly humor, good pacing. It's a surprisingly robust game for a reasonable price, even at a current state with just one act. Give it a shot.

As someone who loves the weird movement of Foddian games but doesn't have the patience for retrying the entire map every time I fall (such as in Jump King 1) I'm having a great time so far with this game! Fast travel, combat, and RPG elements help break up the usual level-climbing pace, I don't know that I'll every be so great as Percy, or win the heart of the smokin' hot babe, but I've definitely been enjoying this unique mix of gameplay elements

Maybe I suck, but the controls to jump are very unresponsive/unpredictable
