Route overview and lookround: https://youtu.be/q95g_6VHYg4 ========== Absolutely do I reccy! -Next best German route (or entire game route) next to Reisa-Dresden -Scenery is well placed and correct area looking from city, village to countryside. -The ballast and track side textures while still repetitive look like the correct color to the region -All new German DMU in the form of the DB BR 612 which sounds and feels fantastic ftmp -Railpool liveried 185.6 looks nice and adds some much needed color to all the German stock -363 in blue included as well as the 143, Dopplestock and freight wagons -Lighting retains the nice look done to the Dresden-Reisa look -Plenty of service variety, shunt, pass & freight -Chemnitz looks correct ftmp adding all the old rail depot areas as well as the roundhouse and service areas and rail museum -Dresden looks a tad different as this route is dated in 2012 and not current time adding some yet to be removed facility -Tharandt looks amazing nestled in the valley of the mountains along with 11th century castle ruins . -Some of the building assets look new and haw quite a bit more detail than usual In the few hours spent with the route thus far I'm impressed, as well as salty we can't have nice American routes on par with these... The only slight negatives are the fact that the rock faces look purple to me and the horn sounds for the 612 are looped poorly and some of the editing could use work **EDIT** - more time spent with the route and it's still amazing -PZB seems to work well as it should (as i get e-braked constantly for not paying attn lol) -The titling mechanism on the 612 works well, even does the little self tilt test when its activated. Also the speed sensing equip (forget the name) built into the tilt sys which will penalty brake you if over-speed occurs -The distant scenery and terrain look great in most areas, 2D trees when necessary help but there are a few bland hillside areas in the distant that break immersion -Maaaany level crossings are not guarded and look plain unfinished -Switcher/shunt duties are a bit sucky, there's like 7 and 6 of them are literally "stable the loco" which takes 4.35 seconds to complete. The remaining 1 svc is putting a short freight consist together, take 20mi or so. -The more I play the more i'm annoyed by the rail noise and flange squeal of the 612, BUT to be clear the sounds are great - - they're just too damn loud (which falls in the poorly edited dept as per usual) -There is some sort of green coach which look heritage sitting just to the west of Dresden in a yard, it's a new model to the game and they look great just not sure what they're called though? I'll likely continue to add to this because this is hands down one of the best new route/loco package that's been released for TSW. The scenery is simply stunning in some areas and the line side scenery/rails and textures on this addon reaaaally help with it. STILL a hard 9 / 10

I like the route it looks interesting, driving is challenging due to the steep grades and the weird way the power handle for the BR612 works. I like the tilting. There is one thing I do not like at all: It was too much trouble to include a GNT signalling tutorial or even add as simple leaflet to explain how it is supposed to work. In the HUD I see blinking lights, you seem not to need to acknowledge them, so it it is unclear what it means.Tilting is the key feature of this route, so it should get approriate attention but it does not get it. After a long period of promises regarding manuals the only thing they seem to understand is that it is complicated. Yes, it may be complicated but they may ask the community to help, but nothing is done in this area. I cannot recommend this route without even very elementary documentation.

This route is simply lovely, and is a proper challenge. You will be kept on your toes at all times with the grades and curves of this route. Combine that with the fact that the BR 612 Handles like a dream, and this is one of the best routes for TSW yet.

I can tilt and be horny at the same time, I love it! You know that I am quite strict when it comes to the quality of DLCs. I tend to have an eye for bugs. Perks ( or defects ) of being a game QA Tester myself. I am rather satisfied with DLC. Fantastic work for all the teams involved on putting this one together. :) Congrats! The route itself looks very nice. I think it is nicely decorated. The track layout seems to have been done properly and it feels "natural". Driving this route with trains without AFB proves to be quite the challenge as you have to pay attention where the track is going up or down hill and the BR 612 really makes that whole operation much more fun. I have focused mostly on what's new: The BR 612. Yet another excellent piece of rolling stock we've got here. The cab looks accurate, I really like how you need to go to the passenger compartments to switch on the safety systems and others, physics feel just about right, and - a very surprising positive change for DTG - the sounds are excellent! Sounds have always been a problem in the past, but this one positively surprised me. It sounds good in-cab, it sounds good in the passenger compartments, it sounds good outside and it sounds good even with the AI drives it. A brand new feature for TSW2 we've got with the BR 612 is the tilting technology and I think this has been executed pretty well. It is quite lovely to see and "feel" how the DMU tilts through the many curves throughout this route. Hopefully this opens doors to many other tilting rolling stock, which I do look forward to see! Variety of services are on-point. It is definitely nice to see that if you own more loco or other route DLCs, you get the locomotive replacements for them. BR 155 is a must for this route in my opinion, as it fits well with the whole East German setup. I did find few bugs, however. But I didn't find them to be disrupting my gameplay experience, but I shall report those to DTG. There's also a few level crossings without actual level crossing gates. But yes, in the end, I do recommend this DLC. I'm sure I will be having fun with it. And here's to hope that in the future we'll get replacements or some sort of new timetable with BR 232 - that for sure will be great fun to use on this route. ;)

Yes, this is a good one! First of all: The actual route itself is very nice and dense with detail. The stations look great and it's obvious that great care has been taken to avoid line side scenery from looking bare as tends to be something of a problem with many other routes. Time has been taken to even add details to the embankments of rivers and other water features, such as rocks and foliage clutter, bundles of weeds and small bushes between the track at junctions, clutter around yards etc and the whole route looks all the better for the extra attention to such things. It isn't 100% perfect as there are some little odd things such as some bushes clipping up through platforms and some floating trees. The distant scenery (hills and whatnot)... Well, it is what it is, this isn't a particular strength of TSW, but most of the time on this route you won't see it anyway because of all the trackside trees and other scenery assets, so it doesn't really matter and certainly doesn't detract from the experience. I'm sure that there are people out there who know the area intimately who can point out a bunch of inaccuracies, but you're going to find this with any route, no matter what. Performance wise, it runs more than reasonably on my particular setup (i7 9700K, 2080Ti, 32GB RAM, running off of an SSD) but obviously your mileage may vary depending on your hardware... At least it runs much better than Sherman Hill! So, credit where credit is due, whoever at DTG worked on the scenery for this route, well done. To go with, there's the usual selection of tutorials, a handful of scripted scenarios and the timetable mode with a selection of passenger, freight and shunting activities... And here is another criticism, the timetable seems... unrealistically tight. I'm not sure if they used the real world timetable or not, but it doesn't seem right... it's not game breaking by any means, but it is noticeable. Personally I would like to see an update for this. Now, onto the stock, you get the 143 and the Dosto to go with it, the 363, the 185.6, the 612 DMU and various freight wagons. Most of these we've had before so I won't go into details on each of them, the 143 and the 363 are pretty much unchanged, the 185 has a new livery (The Railpool livery does look nice. Very sharp, indeed and a welcome change to the same old traffic red) and some other minor cab differences but it's essentially the same that we've had before, including the same old sounds which are not the best to be honest. The star of the show, however is the 612. The first German DMU for TSW which has been worked on by Maik Goltz of TSG who has previously brought us the much loved 101 and the recent G6. The external and internal modelling is spot on, and I have to say, the passenger compartment lighting is really nice, it has more of a yellow tint to it rather than the usual bright white that looks rather washed out and unrealistic, so that's cool. More of this in future releases, please! The sounds, both internal and external are very good, too. Power application, braking... going over rail joints, flange squeal (You will hear a lot of flange squeal on the tight curves of this route!), it all sounds good. I'm particularly fond of the sound of the passenger doors opening, it has a rather satisfying "clunk" that I really do enjoy. I've never been anywhere near one of these units in real life, but seen plenty videos and the sounds seem pretty legit, there are a couple of small issues where the sound looping could have been done better, most notably the horn but considering how good everything else is I can forgive them for that. The driving experience itself feels good, too. It takes a few moments for power to build/dynamics to apply as you may expect so you have to pay attention, in particular on this route due to its steep gradients. My only complaint here, is that driving with a raildriver doesn't feel good... Due to the way the 612's power/dynamics behave with a notched, spring loaded lever it doesn't translate well onto the raildrivers combined lever. Probably would have worked better to have mapped the power/dynamics to the raildrivers two way horn which returns to centre in a similar(ish) kind of way. This isn't an issue for most people because raildrivers are not massively common, but it's worth pointing out. The controls do work perfectly on the keyboard, at least. I can't comment on how it works on a gamepad as I don't use one for TSW. The 612 also has a new feature to TSW, which is tilt. For people who don't know this basically allows the train to go faster around curves than would otherwise be permitted by traditional stock. What can I say other than... it works. It looks pretty cool, too, both from inside the drivers cab and watching externally. You as the driver get the information for the enhanced speed limits via the Ebula, which is blank in all other German stock, so it's nice to finally see something... Anything, on there. Hopefully one day we will get a fully functional Ebula, but for the purposes of the tilt feature you get the information you need. So, yeah... I can recommend this one. It could easily be argued that this is the best German route to date, so if you're into driving in Germany then it's a no brainer.

Wow. If DTG could keep this standard from now on, and not accept any 3rd party addons that don't meet this baseline of quality, they could really have something here. Well done. Pros: Everything Cons: Not all routes meet this standard.

Nice track, I'm just little bit dissapointed with 2 depos round control bridges what working but texture doesn't change correctly. Also on some freight little tracks are not completed scenery (ramps are not fully modeled, uncomplete) and rails comming under them. Shame but track is nice and also new loco DB612 is also fine. Looks like some scenery objects are missing as was already reported here from TS free scenery what I can also confirm. What I've discovered also, on DB612 introduction is impossible continue drive without use mouse, I play with keyboard and after emergency with key initiated, nothing was happened. I needed set emerg. with mouse and control of brake. On next introduction with loco all was ok.

I have to say that after a long time quite a good DLC. 4 locomotives is ideal for me and the scenarios are quite pleasant. Pros: - The landscape around the track finally looks fuller and in more detail. Diversity of terrain textures she is also successful. - The track is lively and busy. - Overall, a step in the right direction. - The BR 613 unit is beautiful and sophisticated. Cons: - THERE IS STILL NO TUTORIAL ON SECURITY PZB SYSTEM AND NEW TO GNT. - As a colleague said here, there is no HUD tutorial need!!!! I would be less knowledgeable welcomed the complete acquaintance with the locomotive and its systems. - There are graphic jams here and there when the image freezes completely. - I DON'T KNOW THAT. At the BR 363 shunter fine contole valve does not work. - And as a huge minus are cars and road. Do it with that already something!! The roads in the city do not have sidewalks and there are no people on them. Cars drive through road texture and and have SHOCKING PHYSICS and AI. Please work on it. Overall, I think 7/10. It's the right way to go, but there's still a lot to do.

I've done a single dawn run with the 612, but just from that single run, I can recommend it. The gradients are all over the place, making driving far more challenging than other routes. The 612 is also a joy to drive, and it's nice to finally have a tilting train in TSW2. The variety in stock is nice, and both Dresden and Chemnitz feel busy and life-like - this is far from a dead route. Also, the scenery - Wow. It's absolutely incredible. There weren't any underdone areas which broke the immersion, and the only small flaw I've seen so far is the lack of properly modelled level crossings. Again, I've only done one run, but just from that this route has engaged me more than any other route I've played in TSW2, and I can't wait to get back to it.

This is the baby of what happens when DTGs actually give a dam about what they are making ! The scenery is sooo good why can't it be like this on all routes? Look the far away hills look like poo but believe me you won't notice them, this dlc just looks amazing and so well done I yet to find any really bugs which is a first for a DTG product on my side, the new train that leans is nicely done and the leaning works very well with no bugs. I got all German dlc so I seen unique set ups like trains subbing in for the 101 at Dresden for example, the service s could have been more but it's still enough as said the ai layers at Dresden makes the station very busy. The route feels alive too , with noises in towns and while in the woods. Overall DTG hit this spot on ! And a must buy if you like German routes, I hope they continue the good work in the future on other DLCs.

There's no let up in concentration level required as the track twists and turns and the gradients change quickly. Add to that the way the drive system of the 612 works and by the time you reach journeys end you will feel like you've had real workout! Noticed a few discrepancies in HUD speeds and track side boards which was confusing but overall I was impressed by the content and player experience of this dlc.

The best made DTG route to date. Ample detail and nice scenery. It can chug a bit more than it should even on higher end systems, but it's more than playable. Varied landscape with much to see and do.

Great DLC, the route is scenic and challenging due to the rapidly changing (and often steep) gradients and speed limits. The 612 is a very interesting DMU that provides a good challenge. I'm not normally a huge fan of German routes but this one is worth it full price.

Very brief review. This DLC route and the tilting train, the 612, is a TREAT. The 612 is a challenging joy to drive and the route looks very good. Lots of changing gradients and curves is the perfect match between route and train. Only tiny thing is that the introduction to the 612 does not mention the tilting function of the train, (duh!) and how to turn it on. If it is not turned on, you will have to obey the lower posted speedlimits of the tracks, and the train will not tilt. When it is turned ON you can enjoy higher speedlimits (allthough these higher speedlimits are only visible in the HUD speedometer and in the HUD advance speedwarnings), and the train will do it's lovely tilt. But turning the tilt function on is just a matter of flipping a switch on the dashboard in the cab, so not difficult. If would have been so easy to mention in the introduction wouldn't it? And I have travelled on this train in real life between Augsburg and Nürnberg some years back. That was also a lively treat.

I have personally been to some of the stations in real life multiple times and they were all instantly recognizable. Specially Chemnitz Hbf was almost like a perfect copy of how it looks in real life. The trains are fun to drive and the route is fun too. Finally a route that is not a high traffic, high speed route somewhere in the south or west. We need more of these routes.

the route has nice combination of industrial and scenic scenery ... too bad there is only one industrial train scenario because i get bored of stopping at every train station ... usually i give the base game bad reviews but the scenery is good ... good for the people who designed the scenery bad for the fact that four out of five scenarios are passenger trains

Bought this route only for unique DB BR 612. Need some practice to drive this train because train control is kind of complicated like the BR 101 series.

I have only done the DB BR612 training and the Traffic Jam scenario so far, but what I will say this: Wow what an amazing and challenging train to drive, Whilst as others have noticed theres a few graphical issues to iron out, but the route runs like a dream, I've had no stuttering or freezes so far. I asked Matt on the Road Map stream if he was confident of a smooth release and after a little coaxing from Sam he replied he was. Well on PC at least he has been proven correct. What a route and I know I am going to have hours of fun mastering and learning this route. Its a resounding yes from me. Love it

Scenery : 9/10 Performance : 7/10 exept Dresden HBF Trains : 7/10 New BR 612 has a game breaking bug which power cuts out suddenly and cannot recover if you dont restart the game. New tilting feature is nice also route is a little challenging for freight operations due to high slopes.

Nothing interesting. 1. Very laggy. I run BML with hundreds o trains smoothly. This route freezes hard when a second train appears. 2. Catenary is awful like on all other german routes. Nithing changed from Ruhr-Sieg Nord - missing parts of wire, no any other objects instead of poles and wire. 3. Sounds of DMU are bad. There are some V/A meters in MCB box in first carriage - all of them shors zero. 4. On my first try to drive DMU i couldn't leave Dresden Hbf because of stupid AI stucked on the station entrance signal. 5. Boring. I ride half of route and half of route is going up. In one way you must to keep power all the time, in other -braking all the time. 6. --:-- instead of arriving time in timetable mode. You know that you're late only after approaching at the station.

So we have the railroad that is basically the rally track. It is very demanding, it takes all your attention, curve after curve, 2,5% uphill and then 2,5% down. The real challenge. And of course we have the vehicle prepared specially for this track. The BR 612. The sluggish, dopey and inhibited barge that requires minutes just for the accelerator lever to go up. 1...2...3...4...5...8...12%, you will count that numbers in your head all the time. In addition we have the 'dynamic' brake that is as fast to react as the accelerator so you get the picture: the perfect harmony. Is it possible to play football with your left eye closed, jumping on your right leg and holding two buckets of water? Technically, yes. But should you? Would it be interesting? No.Would it be entertaining? No. And as the icing on a cake, with a diesel train we have the decade old bug you can see on British Class 166 and many others: the disappearing exhaust. You start the ride with visible smoke going out of exhaust pipes but after several minutes of travel and several switches between external and internal view the smoke disappears completely. Nice to see some things are never changing. Verdict: try it if you are absolutely bored with your life, in any other case - avoid. P.S. Performance wise it's nothing new - I have some traditional stuttering but not much. The scenery is very nice but sadly you don't look at it much as the track takes a lot of your attention. If you've bought it and don't like the pace try the other trains with more traditional controls, if you haven't and just want a good German railroad - go buy the Nahverkehr Dresden from the Rush Hour. P.P.S The rail squeaking is unbearable. Was it necessary to make it so loud?

There are a few glitches with the scery, like crossing gates missing and some switchyards looking a bit bland, but all in all, this is a fabulous add-on! The 612 is fabulous and a really unique thing to drive, the route is long and scenic. Bought it day 1 and didn't regret. Oh, and it bare has bugs too, nothing significant I could spot so far!

This is an outstanding route for TSW2 and continues the steadily improving quality of the DLC's being produced in the last few months. Thanks to everyone involved with producing this very high quality addition to the German routes available for TSW2 its just brilliant.

This route is just lovely! I am utterly speachless at the amount of love and care that went into making this beautiful DLC. The DB BR612 is a real pleasure to drive, and I have always wanted to see German DMUs in game since there have not been any other German diesel passenger trains made for TSW 2. With the release of this DLC, DTG has absolutely blown this out of the water in a beautifully scenic route with many steep grades of up to 2.7% and very tight curves through the rocky and picturesque valleys of Saxony. This is by far the most scenic German route for TSW 2. Way better than Ruhr Sieg Nord and Main Spessart Bahn and any other German route in existence to this day. I am just amazed. 100% recommended! Score: 11/10.

I have done the route intro, half the 612 training, and a full service with the 612, though not any of the other stuff yet. So far, I highly recommend this route. The new DMU is a very unique train to drive, and it's a challenge managing the sluggish acceleration and braking, complex control scheme, and do all of that while winding up and down steep inclines. I did it with PZB as well, but I had to turn SIFA off because it was too much of a distraction. The sounds are pretty good with this one, and the tilting is a fun mechanism. It was hard to pay attention to the scenery, as the constant grade changes and speed management require you to spend a lot of time looking at the HUD, but it looked really nice from what I could see and I plan to take a slower service to get a better look at it. The variety is nice, though I'm not a fan of the 363 or 143 nor am I much of a freight person. I just wish we could see this kind of quality on US routes for a change. My biggest complaint would have to be that I experienced far more stuttering and frame drop than I do in nearly all other routes besides HMA, and a couple of stutters hung for more than a couple seconds. It seems like some optimization is in need.
