The visual novel plays out like a typical shounen action manga, and how the game ends with a cliffhanger, I rather enjoyed Ne no Kami. All the other features made up for these shortcomings and made for a pleasant experience. I just highly advise players to put this game on hold until part 2. As far as the story goes the front half are relatively slow pacing with not much happening at all it takes its time to set the stage but the pacing felt a little to slow because I did get a little bored while reading the front half. But once you made it though the halfway mark and go into the back half of the story it becomes one hell of a roller coaster ride. Which made the read through really exciting and engaging all at once with the combination of visual effects and more. There is a huge amount of typos. I honesly do not know how it got through the QA team The art, however, is pretty. Len certainly does make a lot of expressions, Uzume’s passion for Len is very vivid, Shinome has an excellent smug face, and Ruka’s “ice queen” expression during Shinome’s story is really cold. The girls all look beautiful. Though it ends with a cliffhanger and is showed that Ne no Kami – The Two Princess Knights of Kyoto Part 2 will be coming winter 2016.Though do not be held back by the cliffhanger because these type off cliffhangers are good as it does not leave a bad instead it left me with the excitement of wanting to know more of the story with the well timed character role twist at the ending. My Verdict : I would recommend Ne no Kami – The Two Princess Knights of Kyoto to people who love yuri and romance and of course action. It is relatively short and enjoyable game. 3/5
Review with accompanying screenshots and video at Sinical Network
https://www.sinicalanimenetwork.com/post/2020/05/02/ne-no-kami-the-two-princess-knights-of-kyoto-review Ne no Kami: The Two Princess Knights of Kyoto is the second of Kuro Irodoru Yomiji's visual novels that have been translated to English by Sekai Project and Denpasoft. This is a fantasy kinetic visual novel in the thriller genre that has optional adult yuri content. The game features a young girl Ese Len, who is brought into a hidden village near Kyoto by her childhood friend Sarume Shinonome. At the village, Len is introduced to Shinonome's sister Sarume Uzume, Shinonome's good friend Himemishi Ruka, and several other supporting characters. Len discovers that she has supernatural abilities and Shinonome brought her to the village to learn to fight under a secret organization. She now has to defend the world against an ayakashi (monster) invasion who has plans to bring their master into the human world. Len will find out that Sarume Uzume is madly in love with her, and the monster invasion will change everything in their lives. Having played Kuro Irodoru Yomiji's earlier visual novel Sacrament of the Zodiac: The Confused Sheep and the Tamed Wolf, Ne no Kami: The Two Princess Knights of Kyoto is a huge improvement over their earlier titles with more background scenes and CGs, a longer and better plot and storyline, and a stirring OP. The characters from Sacrament of the Zodiac make a cameo appearance at the beginning of the game in Ne no Kami, yet despite the different settings and genres in both visual novels, they tie them into this story in such a way that it doesn't feel overly tacky. For a visual novel that covers ancient Japanese folklore, mythology, and landmarks around Kyoto, this visual novel is well translated with a helpful glossary and highlighted keywords to help readers follow the storyline. The thriller elements are also brought out well with many behind the scene developments gradually being revealed in small amounts and events which serve to cast doubt and uncertainty during the battle sections between humankind and the ayakashi. The stirring OP Waltz of the Princess Knight brings out the main themes of this series very well and are the main highlights of the visual novel. The artbook DLC contains NSFW concept art and spoilers, so players are advised to finish part 2 of Ne no Kami before reading the developer notes and light novel in this DLC. There are a few cons. Firstly, the fan service and adult content feels tacked on in a similar way again as in Sacrament of the Zodiac without developing relationships properly. Although the humour is brought out more, and the adult CGs are an improvement compared to its earlier title, most parts of this visual novel focus on the thriller and supernatural rather than the adult content. For those looking for a game with meaningful yuri content, it will be a disappointment. Second, I bought the adult DLC at Denpasoft and tried it on the GOG and the Steam versions. If the Denpasoft adult DLC is manually copied over to the Steam version, the OP will not play properly in-game and show a black screen instead. Although the OP can also be viewed anytime in the game folder, it is still annoying and the Steam version feels like a defective game. This will be more obvious in part 2. Third, this game ends on a cliffhanger which might be unsatisfying for those who don't have part 2. Part 2 will have a more satisfying ending. Overall, Ne no Kami: The Two Princess Knights of Kyoto is a large improvement over Sacrament of the Zodiac in terms of having a longer and more engaging plot and storyline, better artwork, and engaging background music. This game breaks away from the typical school setting and reduces the amount of adult yuri content to bring a more interesting storyline featuring ayakashi and the supernatural in a modern Japanese setting with some amounts of humour and cute dialogue in-between. At the same time, this game suffers from censorship problems when certain DLCs are bought at different platforms, a somewhat rushed pacing in the relationship among the main heroines in the game, and a cliffhanger ending. After finishing parts 1 and 2, and the light novel in the artbook DLC, I can forgive the faults in this game, and recommend this game with the soundtrack DLC when it is in an attractive bundle offer with part 2 of Ne no Kami. I gave it a good solid chuck of time - 7 hours - which by most accounts was about the amount of time needed to reach the end, and I just couldn't find it within me to bother getting there. The art IS good, the characters have several different expression variants, the soundtrack is solid, the smooth text transitions give it a polished feel. So, where does this game falter? For one: as far as I'm aware, there are no choices to be made. This is essentially a manga presented as a VN. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but it woud've been nice to know ahead of time. Second, and perhaps most importantly, the writing is.. Maybe it's best if I just summed it up as being "incredibly animu." Cringey jokes, shallow fanservice, hilariously awkward combat scenes, and an infuriating inability to continue a line of conversation for longer than five sentences all gradually wore away my ability to believe in the characters or anything that they were going through. Aaaaand finally, the third point: the yuri. Due to the absence of choice, we are forced to simply wait for our blissfully ignorant main character to realize 'oh, hey.. That girl who calls me a goddess and waits on me hand and foot - I kinda wanna bang. Yolo.' Now proceed to skip all foreplay, and cue one image plastered with an hour of text. I didn't make it to the ending, so maybe it gets better.. I mean, the Shino/Ruka kiss was actually hugely adorable and was one of the high points of the game imo, but I've heard that relationship goes downhill as well, so who knows. Either way you slice it, the flaws were too numerous to keep me on board for this one. Close, but no cigar.

This Visual Novel is split into two Parts, so watch out when buying that you get both from the Beginning as only this one will leave you with a Cliffhanger. The Game itself will take you for sure 5 hours to complete, but most likely longer and features a Supernational Story with some cute Yuri Romance Action. If you like old Japanese Ideas like Ayakashi and Stuff then this VN has a really interesting and quite exciting Plot. I originally bought this Game since it has Yuri in it and thought that it would be its main focus, however this really is more of a supernational, fight Ayakashi and interesting Story Evolvement type of VN. It also has great Art and I like the Voice Acting. The only Thing that I have to point out, is that the extra R18+ DLC is nothing more then 2 Scenes that arent really that great. They also dont really add anything to the Story, so I dont really think that you need to buy them. Just enjoy the Story and some cute Moments. If you do decide to want to see them, just dont expect too much from them. I also dont like that the Way it shows the Text changes for those two Scenes, as it looks more like a Manga. In the End, this VN has a good Plot with some cute Girls, a pretty good Development and for the 4 Euro it costs on Sale you really cant get much better. Overall Score: 9/10 Check out my Currator Page: https://store.steampowered.com/curator/34401214/ for more Reviews :)

I really, really want to like Ne no Kami. There's a lot going for it as a kinetic novel. Great art and music, part of what drew me here in the first place. An interesting premise with plenty of potential conflict. Cute character designs. Where it fails is in the writing department: the make or break aspect of any visual novel. Len's waffling on her new life situation doesn't feel logical despite her occasional internal conflict. Uzume's pathological obsession with our aforementioned protagonist is neither attractive, nor in line with the rest of her personality. The humor is... juvenile at best (women—gay or straight—do not compare bust sizes every hour of every day of the week); it's also out of place in an otherwise serious storyline. While some of the romance is good (Shinonome and Ruka's kiss on the gate steps was just lovely), the sex scene between Len and Uzume feels like it was written by someone that doesn't understand female sexuality whatsoever. Conversations shift subjects more often than Lady Gaga swaps through stage costumes. That's not to say that Ne no Kami doesn't have its moments, either, but no amount of intriguing plot reveals can help me overlook everything else that's frustratingly wrong here. RATING: ★★½

This is part one of what I believe is a two part series. Excellent visual novel for yuri lovers! The game contains fantasy elements and is pretty reminiscent of other yuri games like Akai Ito and Aoishiro. This game is a kinetic novel meaning that there aren't any choices to make and its a straight read through. Length-wise it took me around 7 hours to finish the novel. There is a patch for ..."extra content...". It does cost a decent amount of money relative to the cost of the game, but I found that the scenes (3 of them) were pleasantly written and enjoyed them thoroughly. Overall a very pleasant read.

A sweet game. Although I haven't finished reading it yet, I am very optimistic about it. There are both clear plot and sweet love of girls, why not appreciate it? If your life is happy, you might as well add another spoon of sweet ice cream If your life is not satisfactory or you just played a game like 素敵な彼女の作り方, then you should heal your heart with a sweet story! Life won't get better if you are always discouraged!

Overall can't recommend in full price $10. There are other games out there with better writing which allow you to indulge in f/f romance that doesn't make you feel icky by the end of it. Let me be clear, I have zero issue with yuri or yaoi for that matter, it's the execution that I have issue with. I bought Ne No Kami when it's half-price. I'll be honest though even with the half price I'm not certain if it's worth it. It's not exactly super horrible but it's not exactly without a hook either plot wise. If I have to summarize, this game suffers identity problem. The best part of the Ne No Kami part 1 (yes this is part of a series), is the opening soundtrack. P.s: If you are interested to read more explanations, read below. Beware of minor spoiler. ====================================== Minor spoiler warning: ======================================= I personally am looking for a mature f/f centered characters with promising plot that isn't centered fully in romance. While Ne No Kami does cover some of my expectations, it does so poorly. Ne No Kami has potential to be really good. Its downfall was wasted on juvenile jokes and plot holes throughout almost the entire story. Example, whoever decided to create Uzume the way she is right now really done her character a diservice. She could really be an interesting yuri character but instead she turned into (what another reviewer aptly described) a predator. Its like watching male perverted creeps who confused lust and obsessions to be the same as love come up with a game. The other f/f relationship between Shino and Ruka is also somewhat a failure. They have promised to be heartwarming and cute but the executioin just isn't there. This one I believe is mainly failed because the romance build-up is rushed. It's as if the ppl making this game can't decide what they want this game to be. Should this be a cute story that tug players' heart? a yuri for predominantly male players? a parody? something for male teenagers vs adults? or maybe an action adventure with "male definition of a strong female lead"? I do give this game credit for trying to portray f/f love as less of an issue of gender but more of who you happen to fall in love with. Also as mentioned I like the soundtrack.

I was drawn to this title due to the concept - namely the promise of action and yuri, as well as the good character designs and musical score. Truly, the anime opening had me sold, so I picked this up on sale. Yet, I can't find it in myself to recommend it as a purchase, and after a couple of hours of reading I requested a refund. The writing leaves much to be desired. The plot opens on what is effectively an abduction, and over the course of the exposition dump the story shuffles its feet with getting the main character Len to buy-in to the promise adventure. Tone is all over the place, there's juvenile jokes, talks of bust size, and none of the characters seem to understand how to communicate serious concepts, even with high stakes looming on the horizon. Characterization is deeply flawed bordering on creepy, and personally I cannot stick around for the yuri if I simply don't like any of the characters.

As a crowd sourced game the part 1 moniker missing from the title I'd feel robbed if I didn't buy this and the part 2 in tandem and go through them back to back and given how it's split apart and comments below I'll give this one "No" and "Yes" recommendation for the part 2, a package deal of sorts if you will. Part 1 here really feels like massively outstretched prologue where nothing of real importance happens. And as you can see from the game time I kept losing interest and alt-tabbed to do something else when the game has enough length to be a 6~9h thing at best. The background art is okay but the monster and enemy spritework is just downright early 2000s, not to mention kinetics for sprite work/action vfx is really dated and at times even rely on fmv that scales really badly from the native resolution the game runs at. The relationships between the cast members are also not given any time to develop and are just slammed in, no surprise as you need to deliver what the crowd sourcing probably was paying for, a payoff for their expectations. At least the "flower gardening tips for adults" content is pretty decent but not free which is another minus, but a bonus how it actually connects with the characters growth after and before the scenes. The comedy and antics between the cast members, the decent soundtrack and promise of part 2 waiting in the backlog are the reasons I forced myself through this. So yeah if these types of games are of interest to you, buy the games and the dlc in a bundle/sale.

Amazing story, great art and well done battle scenes. The characters bring life to this game world with all their different personalities and reactions throughout this story. Even though the story has no choices in it; I still find my attention taken by this game, due to there wonderful use of music, fights scenes, characters and the bits of animations. I not even done with this game but I feel it's was more than worth my money. I always find myself saying just one more over and over again through this amazing story. Will you also follow the adventure of these amazing characters.

Visual novel with yuri content? Sign me up!
Introduction
Ne no Kami - The Two Princess Knights of Kyoto is a linear romance VN with some action scenes. The thing that makes this game different from other visual novels I've played is the total absence of heterosexual romance, and that's fine by me. I love yuri, and I originally bought the game for its yuri content, but I was pleasantly surprised by the strength of its writing. That said, let's jump into it.
Worldbuilding
The story is set in modern Japan, but it has supernatural elements belonging to Japanese folklore and mythology. It's interesting to note that the story mixes traditional Japanese elements with modern ones (shrine priests using night vision goggles and satellite phones is a curious juxtaposition). The rules established by the story, especially the ones related to the divine sword wielders are consistent and don't clash each other. There are some unanswered questions though, but, since this game has a sequel (which I'll play after 100% Date A Live: Rio Reincarnation), I won't pass judgement until I completed reading the story.
The plot
The story is about a normal girl who is forcibly involved in abnormal circumstances. There is a group of warriors called The Kunai Organization, whose job is to stop an ancient evil god to return to the world. Like I said in the introduction, the writing is solid, but it isn't anything I haven't seen before. There are small conveniences here and there, but the setups and payoffs are on point. Plot contrivances are nowhere to be seen, let alone plot holes. The pacing is solid and tonal shifts were spot on. The dialogue, though, is a bit cringy at times, but I bet this is a translation issue (more on that on the related section). I am also glad that smart characters don't lose half their IQ pool just to facilitate certain payoffs or plotlines, which is very common in western media nowadays.
The characters
I liked very much the main character of this game, Ese Len. She experiences an extension of the Hero's Journey, but I won't say why, because it's a big fat spoiler. She has clearly defined traits and flaws, goals and motivations, which change depending of what she experiences. I find great that her core flaws create actual conflict, tension and drama, making her make bad choices and paying the price for it, and ultimately changing her completely. She completely steals the show in terms of character writing. The supporting characters, like Uzume, Shinonome and Ruka are mostly static, but static characters doesn't translate necessarily into bad characters. Uzume, for example, has enough flair and personality, and she is very relevant to the plot, aside for being a love interest for Len. Shinonome is Len's closest friend and comrade in arms, so she also has some relevancy. Ruka, on the other hand, appears to be there just to be a love interest for Shinonome, so I wonder why she was included. But, again, I won't be too harsh on this until I read the entire story.
Artistic and technical elements
The art direction is a bit iffy, because some elements are rich in detail and others aren't, like trees or grass. Character design is a bit different from what I'm accustomed to, but it isn't bad. Sound design is decent, albeit not spectacular and the visual effects are surprisingly good for a game that doesn't have animated sprites. The voice acting is really good, and gives extra personality to the characters (note that this game has a voiced main character). But one of the best things about this game is the music. It fits the setting and the context perfectly, and there are some heavy/power metal themes thrown out for good measure in training/combat scenes. The translation is far from perfect in some instances, because what's been said and what is translated doesn't match. This game also has some H-scenes (via paid DLC), and I am here to tell you that there is no mosaiques. You heard it. No mosaiques whatsoever, so you can enjoy girl on girl action in the best way possible. In conclusion: Pros: -Solid writing across the board. -Amazing main character. -Great music (especially the metal themes) -Non-mosaiqued H-scenes. Cons: -Not-so-great art direction. -Imperfect translation work. -Some characters (like Ruka) need more development. If I have to summarize my experience with this game it'd be with the following sentence: "I got here for the yuri, and I stayed for the story". Seriously, the story is worth reading and Len is a great example of how to write a good female character. The issues with this game can't outshine the positives, not by a long shot, and, at 18 hours, offers far more than other recent VNs for the price. So, if you like solid storytelling and you love yuri, I wholeheartedly recommend this game.

A very enjoyable game, and even though it was not as interactive as other visual novels and read more like a book rather than a game, the overall experience was great and the storytelling did a good job of immersing me in the romance of the two main characters and to some extent the game's lore. The writing is fine, but the way it jumps between comedy and seriousness sometimes is jarring for me personally. The visuals are great and certainly has a memorable style, but the designs for some of the weapons were very confusing to me, especially the heroine's strange sword+shield weapon that made me wonder how exactly it worked as a weapon anytime it appeared on the screen, also there is a clear lack of detail for the sprites of the supporting characters. Overall it was a very good experience and now I will be moving on to the second part and hoping that the story maintains its quality and of course to see how the heroine's relationships pans out.

I came for the yuri, I didn't become interested in the story. I couldn't finish the game because of how bored I was. I like Uzume's character design, but that's the only thing I liked. If you're looking for a yuri game, don't play this. The romantic aspect is very small, I tried getting through it but I really couldn't.

Quite a good kinetic yuri VN, but I wouldn't say that the yuri in it is its main appeal. Actually, the main pairing is a bit boring to be honest and quite flat emotionally speaking in this first opus, but things improve in part 2. The real fun is more in the story itself and the romance makes for 10% of the experience, no more. There is some decent action and twists and the universe and creatures are original. The music is good, so the art is, but twice as much drawings would have been perfect as it feels a bit rigid as it is. I'd still recommend it, but only if a fantasy merging traditional Japanese myths with our current world sounds like a call to you. Take the yuri as it is, a side kick, and you will be in for a pleasant travel.

This is an interesting game. This also is apparently Part 1 of a larger narrative (apparently Part 2 has been translated, just not released). Two sets of girls appear to be in love, but the main character may well be Len... who also might not be all she seems. Also, I cannot seem to figure out who is the good guys in this game... and neither can Len (who appears to be able to understand both sides). There are a few twists and turns. Anyway, an interesting game that I would recommend. There also appears to be an 18+ patch, but... I cannot see where it would add anything...

Truly fascinating and recommendable Visual Novel. The storys talks about an all day normal girl suddenly being involved in a secret organisation, named the "Kunai organisation" and she get asked to participate on a possible outbreack of an ancient evil god currently sealed away. With alot of History added into it, alot of involvment of old japanese gods and beliefs, and with a very detailled process of events, it give this game a part of the japanese culture to read aswell. In addition to the process of the story, it would feel quite alike to as how we would react in a real matter just as surprised as in this story, first the chock, then the confusion, shortly followed by the undecisiv thoughs till to the complete sadness, pumping again to guilt and also love as the main driving force, but still in a acceptable way of pace, not an abused amount, this Visual Novels contains anything to make a reader dont want to stop reading it. At least, i couldnt stop myself from continue reading further and further. Definitely a MUST READ!

I liked the game, but not the best for me. I liked the story, nevertheless not what I was expecting. There are more parts that could have been better to have a deep story and probably engage the player. The drawings are okay. I liked a lot the design of Ruka more than the others, just my preference. Yuri is ok for me, i liked it, but i felt it could have been better. Gonna play second part
REVIEW
What a fucking story, sad, interesting. I cant wait till i see how part 2 will play and see what's instore for that one. Though im curious what song is playing when Len and Shino faces off with Tsuchigumo at the imperial Palace as for me it sounds very viking like though i could be wrong but it 100% caught me off guard and it sounds epic for a battle. Though the whole battle at the imperial Palace got me, i love it. Len has become scary in capture: Recounting, seriously this game is amazing! Emotional, and other sort of emotions at the same time. All the music used in this game, perfect places set... I love this game, developers you deserved my money for this game.
DISAPPOINTMENTS
None.

This is a very well done and wonderful (apparently Kickstarter) Visual Novel that uses a lot of Japanese culture, heritage and religious ideas. It is a multi-part project and I was hoping to do it all in one go, however there is more than just parts one and two. This will be a review of the first two parts and I will finish up the whole review when the rest of the parts come out. Cons: There is really not too much to complain about with these visual novels. Sure there are some slow moments and a few events that could have been removed from the whole story and still allowed the reader to understand what was going on. Pros: This is a very well done visual novel that will interest a lot of people and bring enjoyment to people who might want to try something new. The art work, music and story are all well done. The company did a very good job at expressing tense moments with some darker music, while giving light, heartfelt music to the pleasant moments in the visual novel. They also used a mechanic that I have only seen in one other visual novel before. You will get words that are highlighted and you can go into their glossary to learn what that word means or is so you will not feel confused. This is a good idea since it will keep people who are not in that culture to be able to understand what is going on and where events are happening. Yes I know that was a bad sentence, I am still keeping it. There characters are all well-defined and have wonderful voice acting. While it is not all voiced, some characters are lacking in that, it does cover the main characters that you will be getting attached to as you read. I especially like Haku’s voice since it covers a character who is not accustomed to speaking in another language and shows her slight immaturity with her speech. The visual novel also goes into a lot of Japanese history and culture. You learn about different kinds of spirits, events and people that were influential in Japan. This is a good read for people who want to learn more about some of Japan’s culture and heritage or even explore some new ideas of the world abroad. While there are other ways to learn more about Japan and this is not a complete education on the place, it does still bring some educational moments to the story without overwhelming the reader. This is a very well done multi-part project that I will keep an eye on in the future. The company has done a very well done job so far with these two episodes and I would gladly recommend for people who may like Japanese culture, ideas or just want a good visual novel to read. While there is a lack in choices, they do switch between characters so you can learn more about the story and what each person is doing at what moment. It is a well worth read if you want to give it a chance.

Well, I bought this VN because of the positive review, and well mostly because good Yuri VN is still rarity out there. The first half was slow-paced, but it managed to drop the bomb which made me curious about how things will turn out. Hints dropped here and there during the read was able to hold the suspense and made me keep reading. So when I got the cliffhanger at the end of the read, I thought: what the...? I didn't know this VN was supposed to be part of a series. Fortunately, the second part was already out and it was on sale! And the second part was really worth it! The art is good. At first glance, most of the characters might seem stereotypical. But after reading for a while, those stereotypical traits definitely work for the story. So, I have no complaint there. What I find kinda lacking is the fight. It definitely could use some CG for the fight, instead of just jotting down some rather vague narration on how it went. I'm not expecting something like Aoishiro, but well, the writing of those fighting scene still left something to be desired. And another thing: the H-scene and its CGs. Well...I can't say I like them. Both were kind of awkward, made me regret purchasing the DLC. Still, all in all, I found the rest of the read very much enjoyable. If I have to give a score, then it would be 7/10. It is recommendable if you want some suspense with Yuri which is nice to read.

Great VN, lots of plot twists, friends turned foes, enemies turned allies, there's no telling where the story lead us to. Recommend to buy. Will take around 5~7 hours for each part. This review serve equally to both part 1 & 2.

Story: Not very interesting and drags on for way too long. In short what happens is: Len, an average high school girl, is recruited by a group of people who hunt ayakashi (demons) where one of her childhood friends, Shino, is already a member. The demons want to bring their gods back into our world, which is bad. Len just wants everyone to be friends. The main story is around 5 hours long, while the side story (which is just parts of the main story seen from Shino's point of view) is under an hour long. However. the game feels much longer, and it took me more than 3 months just to get through it... Characters: None of the characters are very likeable (except for maybe Ruka). I also thought 3 of the 5 voiced characters were quite annoying with subpar voice acting. To make things more frustrating you have conversations where only 1 of the 3 characters talking is voiced. To add to this, the writing is bad, and it's as if the writers tried their hardest to be as unoriginal as possible. Art: The art is fine, but nothing special. 18+ patch: If the scenes had been included with the main game they would have been fine, but they are not worth paying extra for. In short: If I had to describe this game in one word it would be: boring[. Instead of making me want to play part 2 (the game ends on a cliffhanger) it made me remove part 2 from my wishlist instead. GG. Although there are not many yuri visual novels on Steam, I still recommend you try finding something other than Ne no Kami to fulfill those needs.

This visual novel just makes you feel like an onlooker the whole time. Its hard to connect to the characters due to the odd logic they tend to use and lack of choices to feel like your doing anything but reading. Not to mention the last chapter that at the moment is the recap chapter. Its dumb. I don't really care about Shino or any of that becuase you have made Len the main character. You spend all this time making me connect with Len when shes litterally just being pulled along by the story this whole time. Then she gets an attitude of her own and for some reason you decide to recap EVERYTHING. Waste of time and I feel sorry for the backers that probably should feel ripped off that they backed a recap chapter. That is just filler. Its not interesting and it bearly brings to light any new or relevent info until the very end. I would have rather the whole recap chapter never existed and just move on wtih the story with the person who is supposed to be the main character but honestly with how shes been treated throught the story she isn't. Tl;DR Main character is pulled along just like the audiance and the only time it gets interesting instead of getting to the good part we just get a recap chapter.

I just red through this VN and I'd like to share my opinion on this one. I am no VN connoisseur but I can appreciate a good storytelling. This story had me confused the first few minnutes, thought I am missing something, like a game that came before this but no, right after chapter 1 I was hooked. There's war upon us and you just get thrown in the middle of it and have your perspective on reality shaken. As you go through this, you encounter more and more mysteries not only about the world but about the hero herself. It's exactly those mysteries that kept me going through. I get way too much into a story if it's any good, forcing me to sit back and put the VN down for a bit, because I just can't bring myself to witness a disaster I see coming a mile away feeling anxious about what's to come. And man does this VN take you to an emotional swing at times. The characters are likeable, helps that there's not that many of them so you can easily keep track of everyone and make your own opinion and picture about them. There will definitely be some you'll love, some you'll find suspicious and some you'll hate. You may even sympathise with the enemy and question your place in this war a little as the hero does as well. It ended on a big big plot twist, making me internaly scream for more, it's far worst than waiting for the current Walking Dead season to start after how the last one ended. prediction for part 2 was winter 2016, right now on their main website it says "Ne no Kami part two is 98.27% translated." and I just can't wait for it! I bought this out of impulse, I was in store for a VN, nothing in particular. I am glad I made the decision to get this one and I can highly recommend this one to anyone, it's worth it and currently on sale too!

While there are quite a few yuri-themed visual novels out there, all too many simply drift into some sort of fan-service focused vortex with a bad story and all-too-blatant and predictable visuals. While it cannot quite keep up with Kindred Spirits, “No no Kami: The Two Princess Knights of Kyoto” nevertheless delivers a set of characters that are relatable, funny, and thoroughly endearing. Yes, it is full of clichés, but they are decently executed and the all-too-easy archetypes are happily avoided. Similarly, the story is nothing overly original, but it is solid and contains enough twists and surprises to keep the audience engaged and wanting more. On a more technical level, the translation is sometimes a tad … ehm … original let’s just say, but overall not too bad. There are quite a few typos throughout the game though, in particular toward the later parts, making it seem as if the quality control may have been a bit rushed when approaching the release date. While these factors can slightly detract from the story at times, they are not bad enough to really take away from the enjoyment the game delivers. The game being an easy 10h+ experience is also quite amazing, especially when considering its price point. I for one am certainly looking forward to part 2, and would very much recommend this one to people interested in yuri-themed VNs that are not limited to cheap fan-service. It should be added that it is not devoid of fan-service though, if the screenshots aren’t obvious enough, but it keeps it at a rather humane level and does not shy away from poking a bit of fun at itself at times (and from what another reviewer wrote, I am rather glad that this is not the 18+ version, as that seems to go down a somewhat different route in this regard).

Honestly, I think the game is much better than I thought a little bit. If I play this game without patch I'll give 7/10 but If install patch I'll give 9/10 I suggest to play this game with patch it much more better than steam version(they cut somethings (`∀´)Ψ )

This game isn't good enough for buying two chapters and two R18 patches for them which all are sold separately. To be more serious, it isn't really bad. The beginning was long and boring, only characters that have sex in the game have voice actors (probably spoiled something to you rn), and the others are silent, it's really annoying, but voice acting is pretty nice, sprites are ok, really, music is good, and action scenes are well made. Still, it left me really disappointed. And I bought an episodic game without even knowing it's episodic, awesome.

A wonderful Yuri Visual Novel! *double thumbs up!* the feels.... at that ending... the romance build up is fantastic the plot and story is always intense and constantly changing topics there is slight humour aswell so it isnt always depressing and finally that plot ending.. i really cant wait to play the second part of this game and i hope it will be just as long as this one! Whats the story about? Well.. you get to play the story from 2 main characters from the game The first character is Len (main protag) which you play through majority of the story. The second character is Shinonome (main character - friend of Len's) which you play during towards the end of the game You basically see/read the story from both character perspectives throughout the game which does explain some more details about the plot and story. A basic plot You as Len are a city girl who gets 'roped' into a secret organization thats supposedly fighting evil demons that are trying to revive their master from being banished from 100 years ago. She gets trained and taught how to fight using a special divine sword against the Oni, however not everything is good as it seems there are dark events throughout the game and you have to read it in order to find out what happens next. Rating: Gameplay: There are no choice options this is a visual story after all. It took me roughly 4 - 5 hours to finish the game but the game is only up to 1 GB. I suggest to slowly pace yourself through the game and read the dialogue thoroughly to understand the story and enjoy it better rather than fast pacing yourself through it. Story: 10/10 Although i have to confess i did predict or see some plot points but the game was still entertaining Character development: 10/10 Yes character development was great! Relationship development: 10/10 it slowly builds up which i prefer in visual novels Humour: 8/10 some of the jokes felt stupid but hey i still enjoyed it Cliff hangers? yes! be prepared for them! So part 2 is releasing in winter 2016 (hopfully) which im assuming by towards the end of december 2016? Anyway i just hope part 2 is just as long as part 1 was because it only took me 4 - 5 hours to finish this game and i was pacing myself through the game too. Is the game worth buying? seeing how its only 9 - 10 USD dollars i think its worth it to support not just the developers of the game but Sekai Project too :D Also i loved seeing those 2 girls from that other yuri visual novel 'sacrement sheep' during the begining of the game it was hilarious and cute :) Im not great at typing up reviews, i just hope my input has given you enough information about the game and if you think its worth playing. Thanks for reading my review :P

This game is Brilliant. The story is very well constructed and keeps up the tension the whole way through, character interactions are realistic with any oddities having ingame explanations I highly recomend it.

The design of characters isnt bad, but the story is pretty boring. For the romantic part isnt slow-burn at all, at somepoint for the story the MC just immediately fall in love. (it had very little story and not good story that lead to "love") The story line is pretty.... normal? it's not good or bad, it's just too normal to be interested. I was enjoyed it at first, but I was lose the joy really fast. The story made me want to skip every most of the game just finish the game.

I'm not one who focuses on details or analysis when I play, read, or watch anything. I prefer to just experience a story, so I'll keep my review short. I really enjoyed "plreading" this VN. It's got a great story, and more importantly, it had amazing romance. What else do you need?
