amazing game but the official discord server has atrociously aggressive censorship and abuse of moderator power that gives joseph stalin a run for his money

The developers have killed the game. Players are complaining about how some valiants are clearly stronger then others and how bots have unfair advantages like seeing through smoke, but they do not seem to care. Depending on what most valiants are in a match, that match will easily be ruined. Bulls throw smoke that players cannot see through, which often leads to death as now you cannot see who you are shooting at, and if whoever you are shooting is a skunk, they will simply just throw gas into smoke, getting free damage on you. AOE abilities can easily ruin a match. There are times where a entire area is covered in gas due to the enemy having 6-10 skunks. The wolf has a AOE attack that is massive and kills everyone in 2 hits. If you are in the middle when it hits, the wolf gets a free kill. He also has a ability that can instantly kill you through walls. Having the game 20v20 was a massive mistake due to the AOE abilities and it also leads to you mostly fighting bots. The brown bear and panda have a lot of health and so killing them is tough. The bull has high damage resistance. The tigers roar stuns you so you cannot use your guns, but you also cannot use melee because he deals significantly more melee damage then you and can heal from melee, meaning that if a tiger roars at you he gets a free kill. The maps are very flawed. On one map the last point is borderline impossible for attackers, which has lead to defenders statistically winning the majority of time on that map. Bots are either useless, running into walls for eternity, cannot hit anything, OR, they have aimbot and can see through smoke. Defense is basically useless if the scripts turn on, if the attacker enemy teams bots decide to rush into a objective they will take it and you cannot do anything about it as your bot teammates are probably 30m away staring at a wall, leaving you alone to deal with hordes of enemy bots. Shotguns are extremely unfair, having the accuracy and range of a sniper and can easily instakill. Meanwhile most automatic weapons have extremely bad recoil and even if you find a good automatic gun that you can put anti recoil accessories on, shotguns are just better in every way. The stamina is terrible. It's like every character is obese and has asthma. The best thing about the game is that the characters look very good. But this is not a Furaffinity artist page, this is a game, you need more then good looking characters for a multiplayer shooter. Instead of fixing the gameplay issues, the developers rather focus on adding a bunch of temporary events and expensive skins. This could've been a hit if it was cheaper or free to play and the developers quickly fixed the issues with the gameplay, but even if they do fix it eventually, it will be too late. The game has already lost the majority of players. Now I am unsure if there even are any players in my matches. The developers might as well rename the game to Bot Assault.

Paid game with a battlepass and paid stuff like a free to play game. Gonna clarify a bit more now.
Visuals
The game feels like a phone game ported to PC, graphically it looks it as well, it's a clutter of a game when in combat which makes sense since it seems like an Asian game which usually have no visual clarity and mostly become visual clutter, it's not the worst but give it time when they add over the top stuff and it will be.
Game modes and player numbers
The game modes are just point control and that's it as TDM is time gated for whatever reason acting like games haven't had multiple game modes always open, but that is a trend nowadays. So the game becomes mostly repetitive and doesn't provide much for the start which is probably why the game has about 364 players max (More then Tower Unite since those numbers stay consistent at least) but this does cause a problem of matches not being the best to get into, TDM just opened as I am writing this and I couldn't get into a match it said 1/8 needed, I seen it go 2/8 then after a while back to 1 so it seems no one is on TDM, specially since 344 people are playing which is pretty much the whole player base so this game doesn't look like it's doing well.
Monetisation and the future of it
The BattlePass stuff is always annoying to see as a trend in games, it's just taking basic levelling up that games had and monetising it, same predatory stuff and It most likely will get worse from here, I expect the game to go free to play and a lot of the features in here that look like they are set up to be monetised to end up monetised. The player numbers and the price of this game is going to end up making this game free to play or monetising out the ass.
Gameplay
The game play feels stiff, and the main appeal I remember for this game (other then the characters being anthro for furries) was that the animal they are effects the character, so a rabbit would be fast and jump high, a skunk would use it's stink spray as a weapon, and a bull would charge with it's horns and be tanky, though the game somewhat does this, it feels like not by much and sometimes like some characters don't at all or it's an after thought. I kind of feel like the game should of been a bit more out there with the movement and not be so stiff and to the ground, have some more traversal gameplay, like high areas for Rabbit characters to jump up on high places and climb stuff, other characters could do the same if their race fits it, it would make the combat a bit more dynamic and be a bit better for classes like the sniper which doesn't really have any good spots to snipe from, I think there is like only 2 maps and they don't add anything to stand out from each other.
Overall thoughts
Overall the game is disappointing and it's a shame as I was really interested in this game, I'll probably pop on and play more from time to time but the game doesn't really feel like it has anything to keep players around much, maybe making the combat a bit more better with more traversal and gameplay to the characters and some extra game modes that aren't time gated, I would say have a big map game mode with vehicles and big combat like battlefield a bit, but the player numbers would be a problem since what the game has already they can't get any other game mode going. There is more to be said but I will add more as time goes on.

Basically Zootopia + Overwatch + Small-time Battlefield. It's still in Early Access but I'm loving what I'm seeing so far. Seriously, this is probably the one game I will consistently log into and waste hours on. I just love the feel of the gameplay, the world and the characters. Will update when we get more seasons down in the pipeline. Until then...happy gaming!

Gameplay: This game have potential. While nothing revolutionary right now, its mechanics are surprisingly fun. I do think the maps could be designed better to take full advantage of the character's unique movement abilities. Graphics: Game looks ugly. It suffers from the typical "Unreal Engine 5 junk" issues that plague many titles. Penguins: Current Anti cheat works well under Linux (it uses same AC as GTA Online btw). However, it occasionally mistakes web browsers for cheats, and the game misidentifies SSDs as HDDs, requiring an extra prompt after launch. Player models: Mmmmm would you enjoy being teabagged by Akai Hime? Let me know in the comments

Honest solo experience review Playtime: 10+ hours Not recommended (for now) This game has a promising concept and strong core ideas. But I’m leaving a negative review due to several major issues: - Match outcome is predictable before it starts. Like in older games such as Shatterline, the second you see enemy player names in the lobby, you already know it’s over. It’s either leave or get farmed. - No matchmaking balance. You're constantly matched with disorganized randoms, while the enemy is a well-coordinated Discord squad. It’s a complete mismatch. No balance. No fun. - Teams feel one-sided and demoralizing. In my full player team, only 2–3 on my side seem to actually play. The rest feel like bots or are completely inactive. Meanwhile, the enemy squad moves like a unit. You feel helpless. - Gunplay lacks polish, progression is too slow. Even starter sniper rifles are wildly inaccurate — and when you finally unlock the “best” one after 10+ hours, it’s still inaccurate. The scopes are clunky and uncomfortable. It’s just frustrating. - Yes, there are cheaters too. No need to elaborate. Despite everything, I want to say this: The game genuinely impressed me. The animations, the fluid beast movement on all fours, the world design — it all has soul. I rarely feel this way about a game. But no matter how beautiful the concept, the problems above make me never want to launch it again — at least not in its current state.

*This review is from first session after watching this game since release, there are people who cover this games problems extensively that would just be me parroting their points. This is more a season 2 release positives and my two cents on other things.* This game feels fun, looks nice, can be fun, but it is atrocious in terms of game modes and balancing. I played right before the season 2 release but have watched friends streams of this game to get the general idea and decide to buy this game on sale. The pros of season 2 are as follows: Characters +The entirety of the base roster is available from jump (they said they will refund wildcoins for past character purchases and used for cosmetics) later down the road. But -Season 1 character medic is still only unlocked after level 8 of the first season pass speaking of which... Battlepass +Battlepasses so far look permanent meaning you can go back to a season which is a HUGE plus here. The other plus is the character is available from the jump which is very good. Its very good to be able to come back to a past battlepass and take your time when you want to rather than grinding it before it ends. -Same as above about the cat medic but its early and may change the position. Achivements -I don't know if this is a recurring problem before season but I only did two matches and unlocked 25+ (33 at time of writing) achievements for kills, revives, point captures, etc. Had to look at this when I got 3 hour map achivements and literally played for 69 minutes (nice). The above positive points shows the dev team does listen to the criticisms and show they are willing to work on those. But other than all that... The major gripe the dev team does with this game is make this game PvP only focused where they fill the lobbies with bots to fill in the slowly bleeding out player population while not even having a dedicated players vs bots game modes for the TWO ONLY AVAILABLE GAME MODES besides when they allow you to play a scheduled team deathmatch. While I enjoy medium to large-scale pvp games, I do like to have a more casual mode at times in games like this. Small Indie PvP games always have a problem when they do this (Example Crowfall that game was fun but did not last long due to this) and large scale pvp only games that failed to add some kind of practice bot mode like Gundam Evolution. I don't think the solution to this player problem is the FTP argument per-say but it is still iffy paying money then more for FTP gimmicks that is iffy. Skins are decently priced, some furries will play this game for the characters alone, but most people from looking at discussions is adding some sort of coop campaign and/or a player vs bots match while adding the option to play pvp so if the game does go below 100 players eventually after the post nut clarity of season 2 wears off or season 3 turns out to be a letdown, it would keep people at least playing the game with some enjoyment and buying the next swimsuit skin when it pops up (please give ULY a better one than just a summer recolor). All in all, I think the dev team is cooking here with this game they are listening to some criticisms but they are still cooking at low heat in a tiny frying pan when the game should be in a Wok pan with full fire roaring if they want to wow people and get more eyes on this. Season 2 shows this but they need the rest of this season to either add something like a Bot match mode and not wait for season 3 to make this correction. The bots are already there there are no excuses. I would recommend this game but in this games current state as of now, I just cannot. For more in depth reviews, look at other reviews on this game. I will still play this game because when I finally got to play it and having a blast but I do not see myself playing more than thirty minutes to an hour once a week in its current state.

Updating my review after playing A LOT more: I still really like this game despite the low player count, but some things could be fixed/worked on. 1. The Panda needs to be nerfed hes alittle too powerful. 2. Another frustrating one is players abusing Erwins Medic ability's. keep getting into matches with 2 Erwins healing each other constantly. Erwins heal ability should only cover till there are 100% health then you get a 10-15 second cool down before you can heal again, this goes for healing teammates and yourself to prevent heal spams. 3. Deathmatches. the maps are too big for 8V8 it was extremely boring walking around a big map like Cresentbay. make the maps smaller for deathmatch and its good mode or make special maps for it. 4. Player speeds in spawn zones. make it so when you first start a game you get infinite sprint speed till you hit the Blue Borderline in conquest mode. it really sucks sprinting in Mohave spawn zones since they are big zones. 5. maybe remove global chat and only have team chat. I've seen some racist and very disrespectful stuff being said from the enemy team. 6. Bot Teammates getting stuck in places on Mohave. mainly at the A,B,C locations. lost 3 bots teammates that could help us out due to them getting stuck on a crate of some sort. I get it only one of the devs can understand English, if you could consider fixing those things this game would be a lot better, still recommend this game no matter what though

I like the game, or at least the idea/what its trying to do. however, there is NO ONE playing, and most matches, you only find bot filled servers to even start matches. few playable characters, and like, 3 maps over all modes. Its basically a dead on arrival tps battlefield clone, but with furries. also I swear it SLIGHTLY feels of AI generated content... If I see it get a spike in players, I'll give it another chance. but this should have been a F2P live service if it has a battlepass already.

As someone who has actively played this game since the Open-Alpha test a year ago, I don't recommend buying Wild Assault in it's current state. I was really excited when it was announced that Wild Assault would enter Early Access. However, all I can say now is that I'm disappointed. I highly suggest waiting for it's full release to see if anything has significantly changed from now. If not, then the same still applies. As much as I've always wanted to show my support to Combat Cat Studio, I need to share my honest opinions. I can only hope that they would consider some of the suggestions and feedback that the community has given. Unfortunately, a lot of major issues with this game have been overlooked several times. Here's a quick list of some of the current issues that the game has: -Game optimisation -Overall balance in the game (e.g: character balance, gun balance, raid gamemode, neutral item in conquest, etc.) -Poor matchmaking still (yes, even after the update, matchmaking is still terrible) -The game is still flooded with bots -Bots are either completely useless or they have extremely accurate aimbot -Ping issues, the only current available servers are: Asia Pacific, Europe, South America and US East (to be expected for now since the game is already small but also practically dead at the moment and server costs are expensive) -Restricting the time that people can play certain gamemodes (Team Deathmatch starts at 22:00 UTC+10 and ends at 02:00 UTC+10, Random Deathmatch starts at 10:00 UTC+10 and ends at 14:00 UTC+10) -Lack of communication regarding the following issues (and also the issues above, but mostly the issues below): -Regional Pricing still hasn't been implemented (everything is in USD) -Ridiculous skin/cosmetic prices (Akai Hime's skin alone costs $31AUD/$20USD and the bundle costs $46AUD/$30USD, they did put a temporary sale until July 3rd but it still costs roughly the same amount) I hope this helps other people to decide whether or not they purchase Wild Assault, since I wish I knew these things sooner myself. Feel free to add to this list or ask questions, because I'm more than happy to help in any way possible.

As a person who hasn't been great at 3rd person shooters, I picked up this game to sorta train myself and I have to say its the most fun I've had with any 3rd person shooter in a long while. Keep up the great work and may we see more in the future.

I only say no because I am so tired of keyboard gamers getting special treatment, not everyone can use a keyboard and i wish more games were controller friendly. If the Devs ever make this game with a controller friendly set up then ill be willing to change my review. For now though with no REAL controller support this is not something i can enjoy

Gameplay is simple but fun and effective, character design and things like the maps are fun. Only issue I have is with the bots, as teams consist of 90% bots and they aren't very well developed - they can see through smoke, don't revive etc. Honestly if the bots were improved or if the game got popular enough that they weren't needed as much, this would be the perfect game in my opinion. Anyone who calls this game nothing more than furry bait is wrong.

Let me say that I am not a furry... however Bought the game as a bit of a meme purchase with the intention of refunding. The movement and gunplay is admittedly a bit clunky. The gameplay was initially very frustrating when the matches were a glorified 1v1 with 19 bots on each team. Once I started playing player v player matches, I genuinely started experiencing a bit of... fun, dare I say it The dialogue needs some serious attention and the player barks are annoying when all your teammates also start constantly saying everything they are doing. If you want this game for some dumb fun, it is what it is. Needs more furry ass, if they are willing to give us fox tiddies, the could at least throw some badonk in this game Sincerely, Silly Dilly

Great game, Awful balance and small player base. most games half the point if not more is covered in poison aoe damage or fire. mobile game style event and battle pass system. if you can get past that and manage to find a lobby not half filled with skunk players its a good time

love this game. really fun once you get hang of the current mechanics (say it that way since if I'm not mistaken the new Gun play mechanic rework is coming in S2 in 2 days as of writing this). But looking through the discussion forums on the game I do agree with one person the devs should give do a couple free weekend Play events on it's steam page to draw in more players who may be on the fence about Buying the game (only $15 bucks when not on sale which is pretty much nothing now a day but that's just me). If you like Battle field and Hero shooter games this game could be right up your Alley. Sure to certain Players from the Forums the Game seems unbalanced and there's bug here and there along with a lot of bots (only due to match making not being perfect atm) but it's Honest to goodness fun. Bonus fun to if you're a member of the Furry Fandom as well Like Myself. I think this game is a diamond in the rough if you ask me just gota give the Devs a chance since the team consist of 20 Collage students not sure how many are graduates. They probably have other things they NEED to Take Care of aside from this Game. in other words give the game a try, see how YOU (not how these other reviewers liked or Hated it YOU) like it and be Patient with the Devs. not every fresh out of collage Indie Game Studio has a classic hit right out the Gate Like Repo or Lethal Comp.

Yeah. I have fear of real people even online so this game is perfect, one human on the other team every 10~ matches. The rest of your team are bots that WILL be running into walls and shooting the walls. EDIT: And oh yeah a big downside: It's Unreal Engine, don't expect things to go smoothly.

Boring. Just a generic shooter with anthropomorphic elements slapped on top. Also very, VERY broken. The mechanics work fine, but there's stuff like the character voice slider just kinda... not doing anything? Plus the clearly broken English at times, and a lot of the text genuinely seems AI generated. Not to mention it's pay to win! I already bought the damn game! I PAID MONEY FOR THIS. I don't need to pay MORE just to stock up on a fake virtual currency that's literally only there to keep people playing. One of the modes is locked behind leveling up to level five, and another (literally the ONLY one I care about, deathmatch) seems to only be available during certain times. Seriously, if the game actually had interesting concepts rather than just being "Overwatch/COD/Battlefield with furries", that would be reason enough to keep playing! Do stuff with tails! Triple wielding would be neat! Or maybe even using the tail as a melee weapon! Oh, and it runs like garbage, as Unreal Engine 5 does. Interesting concept, poorly executed

This game is amazing and not for the reason you think. I am not a furry, but this game actually seems really fun with unique abilities and characters. It's action packed and fast paced which is my type of game, and being able to play as a big Russian bear and blow a little fox's head off with an Anti-Aircraft canon is just peak gameplay. I just have one glaring issue with the game. Not the gameplay, not the bots, not the lack of maps, but the games code itself. You see, I was excited when I saw this game and thought it looked fun. So, I bought it and downloaded it, and as it launched I was greeted with a message informing me that my laptop doesn't meet the requirements to play the game. Just to be clear, I know Combat Cat isn't responsible for my issue, they made the game on Unreal Engine 5 and I understand why the minimum system requirements to play the game are what they are. But I don't want to spend $800+ on a new PC or gaming laptop just to play this one game. Combat Cat, if you see this review, if possible, lower the minimum system requirements to these specs below (Some of my specs meet the requirements but most of my hardware doesn't) MY SPECS Graphics Card: Intel(R) Iris(R) Xe Graphics 128 MB RAM: 12 GB Processor: 11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-1135G7 DirectX: Version 12 System Type: 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor (TLDR my hardware is a potato) (Additional note: Whenever I try to launch the game, I get a message that says, "Direct X12 initialization failed. Please try updating your GPU graphics driver." This is another hardware issue I have making me unable to play the game. I've checked my Direct X version and it's Direct X12 which should be compatible.) Just to be clear, I am speaking for all other people that may have lower end laptops or PC'S that may not be able to run this game, not just myself. I genuinely believe that Combat Cat is doing something I don't think any other game company has. This game has potential, and I wish for it to get the attention it deserves. From Murder_Drone, To Combat Cat Studios (And the community)

You have to purchase the game but it uses a F2P model. Paid battlepass, microtransactions. Played for a bit, gameplay is okay, characters look good. Currency in free battlepass enables unlock of other characters. (One redeeming quality) Bug happens mid-game that renders Erwin's Q useless. 1/40 Need 16 to start. 1/40 Need 16 to start. 1/40 Need 16 to start. 1/40 Need 16 to start. 1/40 Need 16 to start. 1/40 Need 16 to start. 1/40 Need 16 to start. 1/40 Need 16 to start. 1/40 Need 16 to start. 1/40 Need 16 to start. 1/40 Need 16 to start.

This game can't even launch properly. Never mind that it's a COD clone that has the nerve to charge 15$ and still have mobile style micro-transactions, but the game won't even load. News flash, cod itself is dying, so why would you copy all the crap everyone hates, and not even have the decency to make the game actually stable, or at least add controller support? Ya know? THE BARE MINIMUM?!! How long are you going to be in early access? another 3 years? Most cod knockoffs get it right in ONE OR TWO YEARS, you're on year four now and this is your best?!! Took a look at your studio, I've seen better from smaller ones out there. You're selling to a fandom that corporations with trillions have failed to monetize, we won't accept sloppy, we'll literally return your crap, and do it ourselves.

Okay, so *this game is really fun.* I haven't played a PVP shooter in so long. this felt great to slip back into. Obviously I'm fur-inclined, but this game is great regardless. the quadrupedal sprinting offers such a fun new element. abilities are cool; gunplay feels great. it seems balanced (I'm playing as the bunny girl with a p90 and I'm taking down bulls/tigers no problem.) legitimately fun. servers seem active enough that it's only ~3-5 mins between matches. definitely enjoying this. will be back for more.

This game is like furry battle field ( complimentary), except it has no vehicles; YOU are the vehicle & I love that. Also just bonus points from me, for being furry most of our games( from what I've seen) are NSFW ( and that isn't a bad thing) or platformer, maybe we have a furry playable character in a sea of human characters with equally few robot/cyborg/zombie playable characters. so it's nice to see this for a change. The main raid mode ( everyone is playing on this mode) is chaos! And in my first match I got bodied so hard, but after about match 3 I started to pick up on what was happening in the game. So it takes a small amount of adjustment. Ive seen alot of people complain about optional skins, but I haven't bought any of the extras at this time and it hasn't impacted my experience. -Cons - °Raid seems to be the only mode active in early access. °Death match was dead for me every time I played °conquest? ( the other mode next to raid) feels like it's mostly bots(but it's still fun). It also might take a bit longer to find a match depending on active people looking. Also i feel the other modes need better push visibility in terms of telling more people to try them out. Cause thier is alot of fun stuff in this early access. 8.7 /10 for me I'd say 9/10, but deathmatch is dead for me, at this time.

this game is fine. don't look at it like a furry game, but a difrend time-line, where humans never exsisted. some ability's are just broken and not fun to play against (tiger roar) but for a in development early acces game. the core gameplay is more than good inof. fun experiance, great shooter, amazing looking charcters, nice gameplayloop. and for some one who ndoesn't want a CoD or battlefield EA owned IP, this is a amazing replacement. still needs some refinement, but overall, it's a great experiance.

i wanted to like this game and gave it alot of chances but its clear this game is just going to end up dying as there really isnt any improvements since the alpha/beta and the design has alot of balance problems caused by character abilities and map design as well as the weapons. the game is mainly almost always just bots everywhere and they didnt think to maybe make smaller closed off maps. at this point with how low player counts are i dont see them fixing suck major issues. All this and i havent even mentioned how much the cost of their micro-transactions are. The battle pass came out pretty costly and they had to lower the cost and give back players some of their in game currency once they dropped it. i thought this was a one time thing but then the first actual skin pack to buy in this game cost more than the game itself. if they wanted to go that route they should have just made the game free to play and maybe we wouldent be playing a game full of bots all the time. Selling battlepasses and skin packs for the price of big games all while still being in early access and with the game dying just doesnt sit right at all.

I did have hope for this game but sadly the game did not deliver, i know its an indie game and made by a small group but with how many bugs this game has from the bots just walking into walls to the maps glitching out so you cant choose where you spawn, bots shooting you through walls or under stun effects, another thing is stacks of players getting priority I've never seen stacks on different teams their normally all on the same team so 3 stacks of 4 players each will be on one team while single players are stuck with bots and always loose because the bots are terribly programmed, i have screenshots of bots either running back and forth in one spot or running into the wall in groups sometimes they don't even spawn, Guns are also very broken, you can snipe with a shotgun with a slug round from across the map and if you have over 50 ping some of your shots don't register with machine guns honestly I've done better with handguns then any other weapon, with the low player count and toxic player base I would recommend this game to anyone at the moment, i would give it a year or two before even trying it out though i don't feel it will later that long with the low player count.

I'm diggin it. Its Furry Battlefield with Hero Elements instead of vehicles. Its pretty fun so far, and the character's species informs their abilities somewhat. I haven't played enough to comment on balancing or anything like that, but so far its been fun. Small community right now (I mean its a niche within a niche in an early access indie multiplayer shooter) so games have some bots in them every so often. Honestly, if you want a cheap battlefield/overwatch mix game (and enjoy Furry stuff or can tolerate it. Take a look at my steam avatar or profile and guess which camp I fall in) you can do a lot worse than this, and new characters, weapons, and patches are coming out. As I play more I may update this and stuff if it gets better and develops a sustainable community. Or if early access woes happen and things take a bad turn. Right now though? Having a good time.

Really fun shooter with characters with unique abilities, charm and gameplay. Gunplay if fun and has unique strengths and weaknesses where other games simple leave out. Attachment micro managing can be fun to setup the feel of the weapon to your liking, and new attachments are unlocked the more you use the weapon. Gives a feeling of progress some games lack. The game has a lot of potential and id love to see it thrive

One of the most fun, captivating, and delightful shooters I've ever played. The action is fun and frantic, the combat is extremely satisfying, and the outcome really can fall anywhere in most matches. I'm not a fan of hero shooters normally, but this one...just hits different. The character mechanics all feel quite satisfying, and while the balance isn't perfect, it's still exceptionally good. What I think I like most, though, is how well this handles Battlefield-style matches. They last exactly as long as a match should to feel comfortable, without dragging on into 30 minute stalemates where you're mostly running around. It's tightly designed to keep you engaging with the action, especially in Raid (this game's Rush variant). While it is still short on content at this point, it needs to keep the player base to keep developing more. Combat Cat has been an excellent, responsive, and relatively transparent dev team toward the community so far, so I fully believe that development is going to be great. It's worth the price. It's a blast. Please, please, please play this game.

This game is a visual delight — vibrant furry aesthetics, dynamic third-person shooter gameplay, and characters you genuinely enjoy watching in action. The visuals, animations, and character design set a distinct and appealing tone that makes Wild Assault stand out among its peers. Since the closed beta, I’ve seen clear potential and meaningful progress. However, I’d like to highlight several points that, in my opinion, are essential for long-term balance and player engagement: 1. Melee Combat Dominance (Crock, Akai Hime) Currently, melee damage — especially from abilities — feels overwhelmingly strong. Crock can wipe out entire squads with little counterplay, leading to team compositions that disregard ranged combat entirely. Akai Hime adds invisibility and high mobility, making her extremely dominant on smaller maps. This skews the balance heavily toward certain heroes. 2. Weapon Variety and Class Balance Right now, the game heavily favors assault characters. Support and operator roles are largely overshadowed, with the exceptions of Vladimir and Zhenshan. I would love to see more weapon options and meaningful gameplay mechanics for these underrepresented classes, to elevate their impact in matches. 3. Achievements — Use Sparingly and Respectfully Players should be retained by the quality of gameplay, not by artificially difficult or grindy achievements. Overly complex or limited-time challenges can frustrate the player base and risk pushing the game toward gacha-like mechanics. Core gameplay should always come first. 4. Don’t Overdo Limited-Time Content Games often lose their soul by flooding players with constant time-limited events and exclusive bundles. This can alienate newcomers and turn long-term progression into a race driven by fear of missing out or pay-to-win dynamics. 5. Enemy Animation Feedback — Feels Like Bots Sometimes it feels like I’m fighting bots — enemy movement often appears delayed, robotic, or unnatural. Smoother and more reactive animations, similar to what we see in Warzone, could greatly improve immersion and competitive clarity. 6. Squad Imbalance If the opposing team is a coordinated squad, matchmaking should ensure your team has a similar composition, or provide a separate mode without squads (or only duos). Currently, squad-vs-solo balance is a serious issue, especially with experienced players dominating in organized teams. 7. Character Design and Aesthetics (Akai Hime and beyond) Akai Hime feels visually out of sync with the rest of the cast. Personally, I’d love to see a more refined, elegant character — perhaps a silver fox or arctic fox type — graceful, slim, and composed. Great examples of this kind of design include Marquez, Erwin, and Uly.

I realise and appreciate that the theme is not everyone's cup of tea, and that is perfectly fine, (those who are not fond of it, can simply leave it alone and play something else they enjoy), but for me, Wild Assault quickly become one of my favourite games! I'm not particularly keen on PvP focused titles or PvP in general really, i prefer PvE and Solo experiences, but I had been hoping for a "Furry Battlefield" type game for a while, particularly one that was not centred around sexualised content (each to their own right?). So, i was cautiously optimistic when it had first been announced. Thankfully I was able to participate in the final play test they had run prior to its release into EA and i really enjoyed that; and i have to say that even now in early access i haven't felt disappointed; a little wanting content/feature wise, but not disappointed. The game is certainly not perfect; it needs more time and love to be refined and to have more content/features added and or adjusted - which is to be expected from an EA game and which the Dev's have been doing already, promising much more to come, but even so the game is a lot of fun! There is no pay to win, no characters or weapons locked behind a paywall, the free-tier Battlepass is pretty decent in my opinion, with the game having additional free events to unlock more cosmetics, premium currency feels a little more reasonably priced compared to many other games (especially after player feedback surrounding initial cosmetic prices; which they listened too very quickly and even refunded players accordingly afterwards), progression feels well paced and simple and it is not super grindy, so your time feels a little more respected. The Dev's have been doing a great job thus far and from what i have seen, they are active and they seem to be listening to player feedback. They regularly patch issues and concerns and seem to be committed to their game and community (only time will truly tell of course but so far so good). Despite how some might feel about "Furries", it is very reminiscent of Battlefield - minus a few missing things like vehicles or environmental destruction for example (which i personally hope come later), but for those who are not keen on the theme and are unsure about it, i think it is worth looking past the Furry exterior and giving the game a fair go before making a final personal verdict. The best review is the one you make for yourself. You may find that the game is better than expected and you have a great time with it, but if not, then no real harm done. Simply request a refund, perhaps consider sharing some honest constructive feedback to the Dev's so they can learn something good from your time and experience with their game and then just move on. At least you would have tried it and been able to make an informed decision for yourself and maybe assist someone else in making theirs at the same time, while also helping fill up server's with more players rather than bots for however long you happen to be on. Everyone wins. Personally i like playing against bots and think that bots filling up server's is far better than not being able to play at all. That being said, i think it would be beneficial for the game to have PvP only servers and PvE/PvPvE servers, along with solo/local offline and private game support. To the Dev's. Great job so far Combat Cat! Keep up the good work, keep listening to feedback with an open mind and keep persevering to improve your game and ensure it becomes a healthy mix of what you envisioned it to be, but also what your players are hoping and looking for. I for one am excited for the future of Wild Assault and to be a part of its community! Thanks for reading!

Fun game. Is clearly an early access/ work in progress. Has cheaters already, but is also a fun concept. Closest thing I'm going to get to Conkers Bad Fur Day: Reloaded multiplayer at this point.

Didn't really think this game was gonna get me like it did, Really good shooter for a fresh launch, has your specific ability play like apex with each animal having their unique abilities, gun upgrade system much like COD, having to play and earn unlocks for your favorite loadouts which was always a draw for me, graphics look good, maps are decently thought out for the modes that are out right now, and already a roadmap/guide line of what they plan for their future which is great communication from devs you always want, only real downfall i see right now is player base still growing but wouldn't notice when waiting for games (fast enough load ins), and the only other is their infancy, they have enough variants to play and already adding more in July but obviously since they are so fresh out the gate still a little bare for skins and cosmetics.

It's a good game. I only have a couple hours into it, and it's CERTAINLY rough, but it's pretty decent so far. It's terribly unbalanced, and the voices are AI as of now (that's supposed to change in the near future), but it's worth a shot if it's on sale. I'm having fun with it so far. Pros: -Characters are extremely attractive -Gunplay feels great -Sounds are good -Abilities are interesting -Maps are neat -Character outfits and cosmetics are well made Cons: -Distracting character voices, especially on the fox woman -Severely unbalanced operators -Slightly cringe MVP animations -Overly sexualized running animations, like shitty mobile game ad level hip sway, it's distracting and needs toned down a bit -Pretty sure I already encountered cheaters -Bots are a bit overpowered -Low player count, it needs more advertising or be made FTP if the devs can afford it -Needs a proofreader Overall, I rate it a 6/10. It's cheap for a decent game, and I'm very interested in it's future. It's a diamond in the rough, and is well worth a try for fifteen bucks.

Wild Assault is an interesting game. It is not a game that has a wide variety of maps, or lots of weapons, deep customization, or the best net code. A lot of people nowadays expect far more from games, valuing quantity over quality. Wild Assault may not have content, but it has the one thing that should truly matters: A fun, simple gameplay loop that keeps you hooked, despite the lack of content. On the surface a lot of people have called this "furry Battlefield", and in a way that is true, but I actually consider it the perfect middle ground of the two FPS juggernauts. It has the maps and semi-scale of Battlefield, but has the chaotic and frantic combat of Call of Duty, all while still giving you ample time to react and save yourself from an ambush. I personally have found myself launching this game and playing it quite a bit longer than I should have any right to. It is only three maps, but those maps offer some great flow and really shows that you don't have 20+ maps on launch to have a fun time. Each map offers you a chance to play any style you want. Want to be a sniper and engage from long range? Every map gives you that chance. How about a run and gun? You can easily do that. Infiltrator that sneaks behind enemy lines and back caps? Absolutely, and can easily be the move that makes you win. This game has a magic that simply really doesn't exist in modern competitive games, and I have a feeling that comes down to just how simple it is. It understands that gameplay comes first, and I personally think it has some of the best gameplay out there, despite the issues it has. Despite how fun it is, it does have issues, with the main one being the net code. Personally I haven't really had issues with it, but a few friends have had near unplayable experiences because of how bad the lag is. Hit registration is also an issue, especially when playing as sniper. Despite having practice, I still cannot gauge the bullet drop-off and I feel it is always changing ever slightly. One of the big things that seems to be dragging this game down is its inclusion of microtransactions. I did notice a lot of reviews were hitting this point hard, and I feel the game lost momentum because of that. There is a paid battle pass that gives you some cosmetics, and a shop item or two with premium skins but...that's it. There's nothing that seems egregious or predatory in any way, It does not force you to buy these items, and they don't even give you gameplay buffs at all. It's just skins. The game's entry price is $15, and we are going to get mad that they are..charging for skins, when Battlefield, Call of Duty, and more charge $70, plus a battle pass, plus $30 for expensive, AI generated skins? Now let's talk about another sticking point, and that is the AI bots that are in lobbies, disguised as players. It's undeniable that there are bots in this game, but despite that fact, bots can and will put up a fight and kill you. They actually employ tactics and have caught me and my friends by surprise by how fast they can take over objectives. I don't consider bots a bad thing, because old games had these as a given. They help keep servers alive and a game doing, despite shrinking populations. It is a bit misguided that they use player names, but I still support their inclusion and feel it should not be a bad thing. No matter your moral stance of paid cosmetics or AI bots I feel you should give Wild Assault a chance. Combat Cat Studio is a small team, and they have delivered an experience more fun than anything Activision or EA accomplishes with 2000+ people teams. It's not perfect, it can feel janky, it has issues, and it does not have a lot of content. But it has very, very good gameplay. The heroes are fun, with interesting traits, there are moments of pure pandemonium, and extremely close games that you will remember for days. On top of that, it is only $15, which is a steal considering how much fun there is to be had in this game. Despite the issues, I think you will find a fun little game to occupy your time. It's a fun, simple game, that has the potential to keep you glued for hours and begging for one more match.

Played the game extensively during its closed and open betas and can safely say that for ~£17, you get a pretty solid PvP shooter. The gunplay feels nice and each hero has a set of abilities based on the characteristics of their species. There's a lot to unlock both for your characters and weapons and overall it feels like a solid base to a game that could build a large and dedicated following. That being said, the game is in early access and there are many things that need to be addressed before a full release. I list these not to dissuade newcomers or to mock the developers but to help shape the future of the game.

The game has many menus which are difficult to navigate, especially during events when even more buttons are added to each page.
Despite being a paid product, the game launched with a premium Battle Pass and in-app purchases. While none of these are Pay-2-Win, it does lock people who already bought the game out of a significant amount of content without spending more, especially with it being unclear if passes will persist past their season.
The valiants / heroes have a "talent" system where playing as them grants talent points that can be invested into a skill tree to buff their stats and grant special bonuses. While cool in theory, it creates an objective power gap between new and old players that could easily be resolved by giving players all the talent points up front or by having a downside to certain buffs, similar to how Team Fortress 2 handles its weapon unlocks.
Finding a full lobby is very rare and you'll usually end up with a majority of the lobby being bots. These bots are better than they were during the playtests but will still sometimes get stuck in awkward spots, creating situations where one team is reduced to only the real players.
All weapons have a very large input buffer (ie: double tapping fire while holding a revolver will always force you to fire the second shot despite the gap between input and action.)
The characters currently lack much personality outside of surface level traits like "cool" or "quiet". This is especially true for the women characters who seem to be locked into one body type and gameplay roll of being low-health high-damage heroes. I hope Combat Cat develops these characters further, either through a story or in-game character interactions as well as bringing more diversity / variety to future valiants.
I'm going to be so fr for everyone. I wanted to hate this game and judge a book by its cover but MAN. Put aside the fact that we're running around as animals and furry not being your thing, this game is ACTUALLY fun af. Its actually so addicting, it should probably be studied. It needs a bigger fan base just for the style alone tbh, give it a chance, worse comes to worse, you return it. I only played because a friend of mine really wanted us to play with him but damn, now I can't stop playing it. I hardly review games but I needed to put this out there: BUY THE GAME, IGNORE THE STUFF YOU'RE NOT INTO, the game style is fun af and the graphics are actually really nice. Plus they fix/update things more than mainstream games and that says a LOT. <3
