Witch Beam does not miss. Assault Andriod Cactus is my fav bullet hell game of all time, so anything WB makes I will play. When their follow up game, Unpacking, was announced I was initially disappointed. But once I played it, I understood there was more to it and they were letting their team experiment with different genres. I knew nothing about Tempopo prior to buying it. I added it to my wish list as soon as it was announced, but never looked more into it to make sure I was going in fresh. It's in the vein of many similar puzzle games, but it has the WB charm. It slowly builds up different abilities as you play and stacks it's difficulty. It's not an overly difficult game, though I'm not super far into it yet. Around stage 16/17 (about 30-45 mins in) you really start to see things come together. The timing gets tight and it's very satisfying seeing everything play out once you nail it. I wouldn't say it's an easy game, but so far it's doable with enough thinking. I'm not good at most puzzle games, so don't be intimidated. There is a hint system if you hit ESC, but it simply tells you a block needs to go somewhere, not which block or why. Will update as I play more, but you really can never go wrong with this developer. I've only been able to play through the first ten puzzles so far, but it is SUCH A CUTE GAME. If you have children, little cousins, little siblings, it's definitely a wholesome game targeted at entertaining a younger audience, but it's also really fun as for an adult as well!

I went in thinking it was going to be a loosey-goosey, jam moves until you win type puzzle game, like how I remember Lemmings being, but oh no, this is the absolute definition of the "new level overwhelm + slow unpack + omg I'm so smart" type puzzle game. Such a treat to unpack and solve each level, which are all so tight and continue to be incredibly surprising (the first time I used push on something other than a block I was hootin' and hollerin' let me tell you). The animation, both character and UI is fluid and joyful, it just a pleasure interact with. Huge recommend. Giant.

[First Impressions] Don't let the kid-friendly aesthetic fool you, the puzzles here are definitely brain teasers! I loved Witch Beam's previous games, and love the variety of types of games they make. I'm still learning how to plan out the routes and actions before letting it play out, so currently I just let it play out first and then I strategise. There is no penalty for trying many times and the sound cues and Hana's expressions are quite cute whether you're doing well or badly. The aesthetic is visually pleasing and I like the wholesome vibes to collect flowers from islands and conduct flower songs in your garden. It has stayed challenging but not frustrating yet. The characters are really cute and I like the progression of items. Runs great on Steam Deck. It's a great puzzle game as it has the one-more-turn pull and hope more people check it out! Please if possible add a replay feature! So we can see our plans come together in beautiful harmony!

Some of the best music I have ever heard in a game along with a fantastic level of brain activation. It's also quite cozy.

Tempopo is a fun and challenging puzzle game by Witch Beam! I've been a huge fan of Witch Beam's previous two games (Assault Android Cactus and Unpacking) so when I've played the Tempopo demo back in PAX 2022, I was hooked into it! After a few years of waiting... I can confirmed that it is worth the wait! The game is like Lemmings mixed with Chu Chu Rocket as you place tiles/instructions on one of the 120 islands to guide your Tempopo whilst collecting the flowers that the protagonist (Hana) lost because she played a song so bad that it formed a tornado and blew them away! There are the directional arrows, lift, block, smash and push which may not seam like a lot but the possibilities are endless! There are moments that really had my head scratching, thankfully there is a hint system which tells you if you've an instruction you've placed is in the right spot. I love the music theme in this game and the music itself is great as well! Hana is a conductor who lead the Tempopo who hop in sync of the music and the flowers they collect are also based on a music instrument which is rad! I love the cute art style as well! It has a lot of puzzles spanning across 60 Islands for the main game and an additional 60 after completing the 60th Island totalling to 120! I highly recommend you to check it out!

So far the gameplay is polished, the puzzles are smooth sailing with a few challenges, the graphics are good, the voice acting is... mercifully limited to the intro cinematic, the controls are serviceable, and the characters are cute. But the music. The music. The music is fantastic. And by that I don't mean that the game happens to have some nice MP3s playing in the background. The music IS the game. It's like everything on screen contributes to the symphony, making it unique after every level. This game raises the bar for sound design, and because (a) the music and sound design are great, and (b) the sound design is so tightly wound with the game itself, that results in (c) the whole game being lifted to greatness. Conducting a solved puzzle in Tempopo is a downright joyful experience, I cannot recommend it enough.

Solid puzzle game, but not surprised coming from devs who actually care about making things work properly. The first half is a bit straight forward and kind of easy, but the back half throws in some more challenges and a few noodle scratchers. Don't forget though, this isn't the most hardcore puzzle game in the world, but that's okay, it's still a lot of fun. Only criticism I have is that some of the music isn't really to my taste, but that's completely subjective. It's still produced well and does exactly what it says on the tin. There's a lot to dig into if you want one of the weirdest DAWs ever, which is nice, but not something I spent any time with. Oh, and the gamepad controls are a bit lacking in places - I personally hate using analog sticks to control an on-screen cursor, but the game works fine with a mouse... use ye a mouse. For my money, it's worth it for the main 60 puzzles, which were enjoyable and challenging enough. Plus, I like how all of the solutions can be eventually nutted out with iteration alone, rather than arbitrary physics combinations that never feel purposeful. At least I know that i struggled because of my own dumb brain, and succeeded with the same dumb brain. Poilished and well put together - exactly what I was expecting from this developer.

Delightful puzzle game, a real brain bender. The hints are nice for when you get really stuck, but it is very satisfying to figure things out. Puzzles are brilliantly designed, many of them give you red herrings for how you think you ought to solve them, but then when you discover the real solution, it's a real lightbulb moment.

This is a really nice puzzle game! There's a lot of depth to how things can play out, but the clarity and appeal of the visuals and audio really makes things wonderful to pull off! The difficulty options also make it great for gamers of all skill levels.

There are plenty of things to like about Tempopo. The soundtrack is amazing and had me bouncing in my seat through every level. The developer states in the discussion forum that it's a game for all ages, but thematically, it's clearly aimed at kids: from the cartoon protagonist Hannah to her cutesy dancing friends. That's fine; it's obvious from the trailers that's what you're getting. Graphics are vibrant and smooth. My disappointment is with the puzzles themselves. I love puzzle games and the thrill that comes with reasoning through a solution. The problem in Tempopo is that progression comes through too much trial-and-error. There's so much chaos in a condensed space, you really can't predict movement ahead of time so each solution comes down to placing your commands almost at random and seeing how much farther you get. Creature movement also seems random at times. ("Why did they turn right and not left?") I cleared levels, but half the time it felt like luck. Tempopo has a lot in common with HUMANITY. But in my opinion, the latter does a better job of setting up a series of clear obstacles and rewarding logical planning to arrive at a solution. Success feels earned. I can certainly see the appeal of Tempopo for some players, especially younger ones. It's just not my kind of puzzle game.

If Hana has a million fans, then I am one of them. If Hana has ten fans, then I am one of them. If Hana has only one fan then that is me. If Hana has no fans, then that means I am no longer on earth. If the world is against Hana, then I am against the world.  Great game for all ages with lots of character and great sound design

Finished all the seasons and am currently working through the challenge puzzles. This puzzle game is super happy and gorgeous. I enjoy testing out the items to see what will happen to the environment in order to get the Tempopos to pick up flowers and make it to the portal. After you complete each season, you unlock a musical performance with Hana singing along with flowers doing the instrumental parts. The music is pretty and upbeat. The game puts me in a all around happy mood. I can't recommend it enough if you like cute puzzle games with gorgeous graphics and music.

A nice puzzle game that looks daunting at first, but is honestly very inviting and intuitive. You'll find mechanics click very quickly only for the game to really ramp it up at the end. Don't worry though, there are hints to help you navigate even the most challenging puzzles out there! Check it out, it's a pleasant and fun time :)

recommending this because I like WitchBeam but with a very big caveat: this is strictly a game for kids, or for someone dipping their toes into puzzle games. because the solutions are extremely pre-canned, you aren't really solving puzzles so much as you're just doing trial-and-error runs until you've used the pre-set amount of items in the right location. you can set stuff down in the wrong place, but mistakes are immediately obvious and you can't use the wrong amount of items, because each level gives you exactly the amount for the exact solution they intend. i don't mind a puzzle game with exacting solutions, but i do mind there's no real way to mess things up because it makes the game incredibly simple and easy.

Extremely good game. Tempopo is a programming game, a subgenre of puzzle games. You have inputs (the pink Tempopo); you have to "alter their state" (grab flowers); and then you have to direct the Tempopo to the output square. But, true to the game's (user-defined) Psychedelic tag, this carries much nicer and wackier vibes than more straightforward programming games. The music is also exceptional, and it's pretty easy to zone out while thinking about a tricky puzzle in the later sections. The large amount of extra content. Tempopo's sandbox music editor (the Melody Garden) has *tons* of room for creative expression -- it's also a relatively early unlock. The various additional challenges are really cool, too: there are the official challenges from the devs in at least two forms, but (IMO) players can create/share their own unique challenges.

I just love this game. After playing the demo I couldnt wait for release day and havent been disappointed infact the whole game is so perfect. You can feel the love from the developers as you play through each island and move onto the next season . The hint button means that this game can be played by young and old alike , experienced gamers or beginners its a challenge to all. I like how I'm discovering the extras the more I play. A perfect puzzle game , engaging and charming .

Alright puzzle game with decent controls for both keyboard and mouse, and controller. Level design kind of reminds me of Captain Toad's Treasure Tracker, but the gameplay is quite a bit different. This game is more about setting up each zone with instructions for the Tempopo's to follow, then watching to see if they do what you want in order to get where you want them to go. Level difficulty varies quite a bit, with some of the later levels definitely being quite a bit more difficult. I'm not exactly sure what it's like in "adventure" mode instead of "puzzle" mode, but I believe it's supposed to make it easier by doing something like highlighting key points where instructions can be placed. Puzzle mode allows for instructions to be placed all around the board as you try to figure out where to start, and at what sort of timing the tempopo's reach various areas for their next instruction. There's a decent amount of content, including quite a bit to do beyond the main story for those looking for more.

I came in expecting Lemmings. What I really got was a musically driven ChuChu Rocket! WitchBeam is 3 for 3 on making games that subvert expectations and entrance. Keep up the good work, all!

Fun and engaging game. Strangely addicting, you can't help but want to solve the next level but also keep the little tempopos alive.

Hot dang, this game is satisfying. I love the way that the puzzle solutions often come up in immediate problem solving: you start the level, see what your first roadblock is, play the level to see what the next problem is, and repeat. The way all of the animations sync up with the music is essential to the experience, I think. Watching gifs or muted videos conveys some of the charm, but it really needs to be played to be experienced. I've always wanted a Lego Alpha Team-like and this is a good one. Witch Beam never misses.

A beautiful fun puzzle game. That reminds me of all those older Incredible Machine and Lemming games I played when I was younger but ya know 3D and decidedly cuter.

Just bought it today because I have really liked developer's last games. I dig the music theme. I found myself counting ... "two three four, one two three four" as the tempopo marched along the path. I really liked (at least so far - i'm only on level 7) how low pressure it is. YOu can just go ahead and march your tempopo along to see what the new blocks do, and not worry about anyone dying... they just beanie hat their way down to the land below. So i can explore without fear of being told what a awful POS I am. Very relaxing. I love how intuitive the controls are, the land is beautiful and I can click, right click drag, or any number of ways to view from exactly where I want. Love that I can go to my collection and learn about the giant sea turtle. I love that different numbers of roses in my Hana's Garden will make different tunes so I can play music in my garden. REally just a fun relaxing game, excited to find out how many levels there are BECAUSE I'M GOING TO BEAT THEM ALLLLLLLLLL
