Now this game was a thrilling and haunting experience. This indie gem does a great job blending psychological horror with a well crafted story and I really enjoyed the idea of making a horror game based on the concept of a hikikomori. Brokenlore continues to be another great game that focuses on interesting topics in which this one has quite the focus on the pressures of societal norms. The characters you meet through this short experience will leave you feeling unsettled and may even really help you appreciate your friends a bit more. Fantastic oppressive environment/atmosphere, well done sound design as well as wonderful visual aesthetics really pack into a wonderful package for a short horror experience. This game is definitely a step up in quality and performance from the first entry in the Brokenlore series. I highly recommend for all you psychological horror fans! If you're interesting in a video play through I posted my experience on youtube and you can check it out with the following link https://youtu.be/4khtWh5FIG8

Pretty short and honestly a bit steep, but could be worse. It's feels a little like I'm being guided by a hand and it's all fairly simple. If you don't mind that, then you should give it a try. Not an excellent game, but certainly a good one. Looking the way it does, the performance was kinda crap, but knocking the settings down to "high" worked a treat and it didn't really look worse after.

Short, sweet and spooky. Great experience for the price if you like horror and psychological games. It has meaning to it and the devs do a pretty good job at delivering the message to the player/viewer. Cop it if you have some extra cash.

It's basically an hour-long interactive movie, which in itself is not a bad thing. A lot of actual movies in cinema are trash, and this interactive movie has beaten them at their own game by having a decent story, good visuals, and no political messaging. It has some gameplay elements that makes it an actual game. I especially like how it breaks the fourth wall in a very subtle way- but I won't spoil it for you.

If you look at the monster you die, and must cover your eyes or look away as you HEAR IT RIGHT BESIDE YOU ... these are the most unnerving horrific experiences. Very very short game, cool story i wont spoilers but i did what i knew was best. Bye Felicia.

Few horror games manage to be both visually stunning and deeply unsettling, but BrokenLore: DON’T WATCH achieves this balance effortlessly. From the moment I stepped into its eerie world, I was captivated by its haunting atmosphere and rich story. The game’s graphics are a standout feature, blending beautifully detailed environments with intentionally retro-styled sequences. These nostalgic visuals aren’t just for show, they serve a deeper purpose, tying into the protagonist Shinji, who finds solace in video games. This clever design choice adds layers to the narrative, making the experience feel personal and immersive. It was my favorite part 💕. But what truly sets BrokenLore: DON’T WATCH apart is its disturbing and gripping story. The unsettling events unfold in a way that keeps you hooked, constantly craving answers while dreading what’s to come. 👀 It’s clear that immense effort and passion went into crafting this game. Every detail from the eerie sound design to the unsettling interactions feels meticulously designed to pull players deeper into its psychological horror. As a fan of the BrokenLore series, I’m grateful to have experienced this chilling masterpiece, and I highly recommend it to anyone seeking a horror game that is unique, immersive, and deeply unsettling. BrokenLore: DON’T WATCH is an absolute must play. 💕👀

This is one of the best stories I've have ever had the privilege to play. Just uau. At the end when I finally understood what this game was all about, I was just astonished. So good, so good and yet so sad, but full of hope. I don't know how the bad ending is, but everybody should get the good ending, it is just amazing.

I really enjoyed this game! It's not the longest game about an hour long but it's enough to leave it's mark! The fact it targets people who spend most of there time locked away is a terrifying outlook especially for us gamers haha! I would give it a 7/10 and would recommend for any other horror fans out there! If you would like to see our reaction we played it on our YouTube https://youtu.be/nHKlGFVeI1E?si=yxhRE7cwQExLsedI

Super creepy and well crafted horror game that does more than just scare you. I loved the spooky atmosphere and the unsettling vibe throughout, but what really stood out is how it tackles a serious real world issue with a dark, twisted spin. It’s a short experience, but one that sticks with you. A great horror game with a subtle but powerful message.

Horror games that are good are really hard to come by these days. The online stores are stuffed to the gills with short indie horror titles, mostly from Asia, that don't really add much to what we've already seen. With the large amount of P.T. clones (Madison) and Asian urban legends (DreadOut, The Bridge Curse), none of it is of the same quality that everyone is trying to chase, such as the peak of horror games from the PS2 era (Silent Hill, Haunting Ground). Sadly, BrokenLore: Don't Watch is another one to chuck into the bin of trying but failing to execute any kind of staying power in the horror genre. You play as Shunji, a NEET (in Japan known as not in education, employment, or training) or, anywhere else in the world, a loser. He is living off of his parents' income, and his lifestyle has clearly caught up with him. He's behind on rent, his rent-to-own TV is ready for repossession, and he's a complete slob. Looking around his apartment, you will see it's pretty stereotypical for this type of person. Shelves of manga, fast food containers everywhere, anime posters of girls in lingerie, anime shirts, and trash piled up at the door. Sadly, we don't really get to know Shinji or Junko, the only other character in the game. She contacts him via IM on his PC and warns him about not looking at a monster. Their mutual best friend is missing, and she wants him to contact this friend. As you progress through the first 15 minutes of the game, you will slowly descend into the madness that is the Hayakuma. A monster that seems to come after deadbeats. These first moments of the game are full of progressing scares, and they are pretty cool. I don't want to get into too much detail to spoil anything, but this is probably the best part of the game, sadly. The first time you need to stab eyes on the wall is really neat, but once you leave the apartment and venture into the hallways, the game quickly becomes tedious. The worst part of the game is when it changes to a 32-bit game a la PlayStation, and you might find 6 TV cords to unplug to get back to your apartment. I found this kind of pointless and it doesn't add anything to the game. You need to follow the colored cables to the correct areas and avoid a monster while you're at it. If you get caught, you can get hit three times, and then you are reset back to the starting area of the large TV and must go back to find the plugs. It's a good way to warp back to the beginning after you've found the plugs through. Honestly, the game should have stuck with just unfolding a story inside of the apartment. The first part of the game is done really well, and I could see it being even better if they just continued creating some creative, scary moments. I was hooked during these scenes, but once you leave the apartment, I wished I could go back. The voice acting is also really well done, and being in Japanese keeps it from feeling cringy. Overall, Don't Watch starts out really well but loses focus and momentum that it built up and leaves you with a character you can care less about.

Really unique and enjoyable experience. Speaking as a fan of Asian horror this was a delight to play. DON'T WATCH would very easily transfer over to the big screen to make a kick ass horror movie. I was reminded of the 2001 film Pulse, which deals with very similar issues. Social isolation horror, essentially. This has been given a Japanese folklore twist, which I loved. You really feel for the protagonist in this, his character is well developed, and the voice acting is well done. The pacing is good throughout and the storytelling is strong and remains interesting throughout. The visuals are incredible and show the developer has a clear vision and passion for this project. Both the music and sound design also lend themselves extremely well to emphasise mood and the building of tension. Jump scares are well executed and not overly done. The emphasis of this game is a sense of dread. It's very creepy. After playing this I am very keen to check out more from this developer. Excellent game with a strong cultural social commentary that is handled well.
