Wreckfest – A Beautiful Mess of Metal and Mayhem This isn’t just a racing game. This is therapy with horsepower. It’s Fast & Furious meets WWE, but everyone’s drunk and no one’s wearing seatbelts. You wanna race clean? Good luck. You wanna t-bone a school bus in a lawnmower? Absolutely. You wanna fly 30 feet in the air because Jeff from Iowa didn’t brake into Turn 1? Hell yeah you do. 🛠️ The damage model is so good I’m emotionally attached to my crumpled hood. 🚗 The physics make every crash feel like slow-mo art. 🎵 The soundtrack screams “I live in a garage and I’m proud.” 🎮 The AI? Aggressive. Dirty. Beautiful. I watched one guy go for the win and another driver literally yeeted him into a tree. Online lobbies? Absolute warzones. One moment you're in 1st, the next you're being turned into a human Beyblade by a couch on wheels. Wreckfest taught me: It's okay to lose, as long as you take three people with you Friendship ends at Turn 2 “Brake” is just a suggestion And sometimes… true love is a combine harvester with flames on the side 10/10. Would fly off a cliff into a pile of tires again. If you don’t own Wreckfest, your Steam library is missing a soul.

Wreckfest on Steam delivers a thrilling and gritty racing experience that stands out in the genre by combining high-octane speed with intense vehicular combat and realistic physics. Unlike many traditional racing games focused purely on precision and lap times, Wreckfest embraces chaos and destruction, putting players behind the wheel of cars designed to crash, smash, and outlast opponents in brutal demolition derbies and adrenaline-fueled races. This unique blend of racing and combat creates a visceral gameplay loop that keeps every event unpredictable and exhilarating. At the heart of Wreckfest’s appeal is its remarkably detailed physics engine. Vehicles react to impacts and terrain in a way that feels both believable and satisfying, with dents, crumples, and mechanical failures influencing how cars perform mid-race. This system elevates the stakes dramatically—no longer is winning just about who’s fastest, but who can skillfully manage their vehicle’s durability while aggressively battling opponents. Each race becomes a tactical mix of speed, defense, and calculated aggression, making the experience fresh and engaging every time. The game offers a diverse selection of vehicles ranging from lightweight buggies to heavy muscle cars, each with distinct handling characteristics and strengths. This variety encourages players to experiment with different driving styles and strategies, whether it’s smashing through rivals in a demolition derby or navigating tight circuits in traditional races. Additionally, the customization options allow for tweaking performance parts and aesthetics, giving players the freedom to build their ideal wrecking machine. Graphically, Wreckfest impresses with detailed car models, realistic damage effects, and well-designed tracks that feature dynamic environments and interactive elements. The sound design is equally immersive, with roaring engines, crashing metal, and screeching tires adding to the sensory chaos of each event. These technical elements combine to create a visceral atmosphere that draws players into the carnage, whether they’re playing solo or competing online. Multiplayer is a significant strength of Wreckfest, offering various modes that let players challenge friends or global opponents in chaotic, destruction-packed races and demolition derbies. The community is active and competitive, and the game’s robust matchmaking system ensures balanced and exciting encounters. Moreover, the developers continue to support the game with updates, new vehicles, and events, which helps maintain a lively player base and keeps content feeling fresh. While Wreckfest excels in many areas, it may not appeal to players seeking a more traditional, skill-based racing simulator focused solely on precision and speed. The chaotic nature and emphasis on vehicular combat can sometimes feel overwhelming or unpredictable, especially for newcomers. However, for those looking for a racing game with a unique twist that celebrates destruction and strategic wreckage, Wreckfest delivers an experience that’s both addictive and thoroughly entertaining. In summary, Wreckfest is a standout title that successfully blends racing and demolition derby elements into a compelling and enjoyable package. Its realistic physics, diverse vehicle roster, engaging multiplayer, and visceral audio-visual presentation make it a must-play for fans of unconventional racing games. Whether you’re smashing through opponents or racing for the finish line, Wreckfest offers a high-energy, chaotic thrill ride that keeps players coming back for more. Rating: 8/10

For anyone who loves the sound of twisted metal and the thrill of unpredictable multiplayer chaos, Wreckfest is an absolute must-play. It’s more than just a demolition derby—it's a full-throttle celebration of controlled chaos.

It's hard to recommend this game. The underlying crash mechanics are fun in certain cases. However, some of the race modes are downright annoying to play, and the ones that aren't are very repetitive in career mode. It's not a game that I would replay, but it gave me some fun moments nevertheless.

I bought this because the developers are the same company who made FlatOut. it's a well developed game but it gets boring after an hour. the races are too repetitive with the 6 laps for normal races and 12 for the championships. the FlatOut series was way better in my opinion, I can live without the new gen crash physics

Great derby game! The physics make crashes dynamic, so you have to adapt. Fun to progress through the career, though it can be really chaotic. Sometimes frustrating, but also hilarious, the way NPCs will blindly destroy each other, and you. Some races are won just by surviving the carnage until the last lap, and it's really fun.

Wreckfest failed to recognise my NVIDIA graphics card. To fix the issue, I had to adjust the display settings in the Windows control panel, adding the game to the custom settings and forcing it to use the correct card. Once this was done, the game ran smoothly without any further complications. Wreckfest is fun with an impressive array of gameplay customisation options. However, it leans more toward an arcade-style game than a true racing simulation. Given its age, I believe the game is overpriced and would recommend purchasing it during a sale for the best value.

This game is fun. And it keeps getting better. With every bit of progression through the career, you find more and more interesting and crazy races. A lot of variety and really nice graphics.

Solid sim-cade physics, good multiplayer support, and a very entertaining damage model have extended this game's life far past what it should have been. It's good, not great. The career mode is shallow per usual with racing titles, and a lot of extra cars and cosmetics are locked behind DLC. The AI don't have a sense of self-preservation and are sometimes less interested in racing you compared to punting you off the track at the expense of their race too, which can feel pretty cheap. If you plan on making use of the game's mod support or multiplayer, it's a good buy. Otherwise, it's a bit tough to make it worth it at full price.

Solid game even thou you probably need to up the difficulty to have fun with it. Game aged well too runs at 120 fps in 4k with ultra settings, even Ultra Widescreen is supported. And Multiplayer is still a thing. Plenty of servers and players online at pretty mutch any given time.

A racing game where the AI would rather hit you than win the race or live. I understand the game is called Wreckfest but when combined with gutless cars that slide around like they're on ice and car modifications that only make braking and handling worse what you get is a racing game where the racing is less fun than a 40 hour shift in the ball crushing factory. endless races restarted because a random AI suicide bombing me or the car suddenly deciding traction is an abstract concept. Multiplayer is either just rammers or 2000hr sweats who are also ramming you. The cars aren't fun to drive, the racers aren't fun to race against, and the demolition events are just driving in a straight line into someone or being in a pile of cars not moving.

its fun to play but the races are way to short and theres really no time to build makes you feel rushed to the next event and they aren't re playable unless you restart so if you didnt do well you wont in the next event either.

Really wanted to recommend this, the physics are cool as heck, but the AI straight up cheats and does not follow the same laws of physics as you do. Only reason this game has so many positive reviews is the destruction is pretty well done and multiplayer can be OK. The NASCAR mods are cool at least

I really liked -the manual clutch driving -the game was pretty -the handling was fun and challenging -the tuning was fun and i liked driving with short gears I disliked -Event variety, Driving the couches and lawnmowers wasn't really for me, i would have been into something like team racing or team deathmatch or some kind of strategy dynamic to the smash up sections. -online is just a lobby browser. i don't love that even a tiny bit. completely kills the online for me. just give me something to chip away at. Ranked mode, online career where i start with a beat up old car, something. -You stop unlocking cars and performance parts pretty early, the upgrades are not very noticeable, the entire upgrade and armor system is super lacklustre. 6.5/10

Sloppy controls, too bad cuz it looked so good on the store page. feeling buyers regret.( if you enjoy hours of frustration, this one is for you.) if your looking for a casual racing game, steer clear. (i really tried to give this game a fair shot, its just a sloppy feeling mess. i never felt like i was in control of the vehicle,i push left and the car goes to the right, is this some new law of physics i am not aware of?)

boring, lifeless game. multiplayer is abyssmal. theres always trolls, regardless of the server you join, theres hardly any servers (if any at all) that do lower class racing. every lobby you join is A class. the only thing making this game worth buying in 2025 is the mods and DLC's. Falling asleep driving the circuits.

I really want to like Wreckfest, but it feels so muddled in its identity. Bugbear promotes it as "demolition derby themed" but the number of straight, by-the-number circuit tracks outnumbers the more creative and chaotic ones by a wide margin. Out of the 40 odd tracks on offer, 3 stood out to me: Deathloop, Hellride, and Wrecknado. These were tracks made for video games: tracks that wound in on themselves, forcing cars to crisscross pass and fly over one another. These are tracks where you feel pure joy both perfectly weaving past a dozen cars heading straight for you and purposefully smashing into one to start a pileup. Of course, such moments can occur on any track. That's the beauty of Wreckfest. But, personally, I felt like I had to go out of my way to make it happen on many. It's not like Bugbear lacked creativity. There's a track called Wrecking Playground that's a "reimagining of the 2013 seminal tech demo map that gave you the first hand look into WRECKFEST!" and it's filled with obscene ideas. Tracks that resemble rollercoasters, that have modern-day gladiatorial devices to bop your car into grinders and spinning blades. Nearly none of these ideas show up in their other tracks. The majority of their arenas are just wide, empty spaces, with different backdrops. It's just a f*cking shame, because you can see the game they wanted to make in Wrecking Playground; but, instead, we got Dirt with Burnout mechanics taped on.

i showed up in a fridged-up combine harvester to a sedan race and still finished 3rd by removing the competition. some dude tried to overtake me so i sent him straight to the shadow realm, politely. 47 crashes, 0 brakes, 1 opera playlist on loop. this isn’t racing, it’s full-contact therapy
