a very fun taste of the musou genre for fate fans! every character is perfectly viable to use, will have lots of dialogue if you want to flesh out your connection with them and come with a unique feel to boot - very few characters feel the same! the game has an adorable artstyle with the renders being some of the best you'll find of any particular character, the ost is slightly repetitive but hits when it needs to and generally never fails to meet the mood of any one scene. the story has a great twist on servant-to-servant dynamics with a fun mystery to unravel if you go in blind, the main servant (charlemagne) is an absolute highlight! enemy variety is rather low and it isn't wrong to call the game occasionally repetitive, however the core loop shouldn't get very stale as long as you are into the fantasy the genre and game itself are trying to sell to you. if a character you like from the fate series is part of the cast, please give fate/extella link a try! if you like the musou genre, please give fate/extella link a try! if you want an engaging action game with hours of hack-and-slash, please give fate/extella link a try!

Silly goofy fun with a prominent side dish of dark, a classic Fate game in a different genre of game to it's usual, a worthy sequel to EXTELLA

It just barely works with keyboard and mouse, the controls are terrible! you also cant choose hot keys, and the camera sensitivty is unbelievably bad. It starts on default at 5, i put it down to 1 and my camera still zooms around my character, targeting is a joke. to say this is dynasty warrior like is a joke. There shouldn't be games on steam like this. Thank god for steams refund policy.

I'll cut to the chase, if you're looking for some mindless Musou-style mashing fun with Fate characters and are wondering if you should get Fate/EXTELLA first, don't bother and just get this. While EXTELLA Link is something of a direct sequel the plots of the games are almost entirely standalone and do not factor into one another. In truth, EXTELLA Link is pretty light on narrative in general. This one improves upon the first considerably. You're not locked into using a single character for the story paths, there are more characters to play as, characters now have a variety of equippable skills, taking over areas does not require you to fight a tedious amount of fodder before the named enemies show up every time, stuff like that. It's what you're expecting of this style of game. And you can play as Astolfo.
