What was once a good game worthy of recommendation has become yet another cash grab pretending to be something it certainly isn't. The developers have abandoned this title. It has been months since the multiplayer functionality was broken and they have yet to even comment on it. They need to stop fraudulently selling this title as multiplayer in the Steam store immediately.

Come on, devs—we waited nearly 20 years for this game. When it finally launched, it was overpriced, and even after grabbing it at 50% off, it still doesn't feel worth the money. - The music is underwhelming, and the voice acting is mediocre at best compared to the first game. - We're still stuck with the outdated limit of 9 governors. - Diplomacy remains a frustrating YES or NO mechanic with no depth. - Leading battles is just as clunky and annoying as ever. - Rebellions have somehow gotten worse—now they're endlessly respawning nonsense. I could keep going, but I'll stop here out of respect for the nostalgia. This could’ve been something special—but it feels like a missed opportunity.

Gameplay Mechanics: 7/10 Narrative: 3/10 Graphics: 6/10 Sound and Music: 7/10 Replayability: 8/10 Innovation: 7/10 Knights of Honor II: Sovereign sits in an interesting spot—it’s a grand strategy game that doesn’t overwhelm you, but also doesn’t go deep enough in a few key areas. It’s approachable and fun in shorter bursts, but there are definite limitations once your kingdom starts to grow. Gameplay mechanics are solid, with a straightforward system of appointing knights to lead armies, manage trade, handle diplomacy, and oversee religion. But the hard limit of only eight knights, no matter how large your empire gets, ends up being a serious bottleneck. Managing multiple wars while keeping your economy afloat feels artificially constrained. Score: 7/10. Narrative is nearly nonexistent. You’re not following any character arcs or rich storylines—it’s pure sandbox. Aside from faction names and borders, there’s very little world-building or flavor to differentiate one run from another. Score: 3/10. Graphics are functional but uninspiring. The map is clean, and battles look okay from a distance, but close-up unit detail and animations feel dated. It’s not ugly, but don’t expect to be wowed. Score: 6/10. Sound and music are decent. The soundtrack fits the medieval setting well, and while nothing really stands out, it contributes nicely to the overall mood. Score: 7/10. Replayability is where the game shines. Tons of starting factions, different strategies, and multiple win conditions give it a lot of legs—even if every game eventually runs into the knight cap issue. Score: 8/10. Innovation deserves some credit. The game simplifies complex systems without sacrificing core strategic decision-making. It hits a niche for players who want a grand strategy experience without needing to read a wiki every five minutes. Score: 7/10. Bottom line: Knights of Honor II is a solid pick for players who want a more casual grand strategy experience. Just be ready to bump into its ceiling once your empire becomes truly "grand."

Great game from a smaller developer. Yes, the tactical battle is not the greatest. But I play this game as a Grant strategy mainly and it's a lot of Fun!

Pretty good game. Fairly simple yet engaging. It is a diluted mix of Crusader Kings and Total War. I would say buy it on sale and you will get your money's worth.

This game is Age Of Empires, Crusader Kings and Total war put in a blender where the devs were not pleased with the outcome and decided to make their own thing. Is it worth it? Oh yeah.

The Perfect Gateway to Grand Strategy - A Must-Play! Knights of Honor II: Sovereign is a fantastic and surprisingly accessible grand strategy game that I can't recommend enough. As someone who loves the genre, I was immediately impressed by how intuitive and well-designed it is. The UI is clean, the objectives are clear, and the integrated tutorial does an excellent job of explaining the core mechanics without overwhelming the player. What makes KoH2 truly shine for strategy fans is its brilliant blend of mechanics: Engaging Court Management: The heart of the game is your Royal Court. You're not just an abstract ruler; you actively recruit and assign specialized knights to key roles. Your Marshal leads armies, your Diplomat forges treaties, your Merchant secures valuable goods, your Cleric spreads faith, and your Spy wreaks havoc from the shadows. This adds a compelling RPG layer to the grand strategy formula. Meaningful Real-Time Battles: Unlike many grand strategy titles that rely on statistics alone, when armies clash in KoH2, you can command them directly in engaging real-time battles. They are faster and more straightforward than a Total War battle, but they provide that crucial tactical layer where smart leadership can overcome superior numbers. True Grand Strategy, Made Accessible: This is the perfect game for anyone who has been curious about the depth of a Paradox game (like Crusader Kings) but was intimidated by the steep learning curve. KoH2 captures the essence of diplomacy, espionage, religion, and warfare in a package that is both deep and incredibly fun to play from the very first moment. In short, Knights of Honor II: Sovereign is a wonderful game. It succeeds in being fun, deep without being convoluted, and immensely rewarding. A true gem in the strategy genre that deserves much more attention. Don't sleep on this one!
