I can lose every match and still have so much fun. Incredibly good brain itch here.

We need more players, this takes some time to get onboarded but once you get your hands on it, it's super fun. The game is crazy balanced and you will enjoy it!

its a fun easy no time consuming game, don't need high graphics and a tactical game. Its been around for many many years but still fun to play. Strategy games are like chess its not demanding but persuasive its a lot of fun game.

The game is very engaging and fun. I mostly play online versus other players, but the single player and campaigns are also great as well. Learn a little history and get your RTOS fix as well.

micropenisoft milked the players promising no stutter, bug-free gameplay, and no cheaters... nothing was delivered, and if you raise your voice againt this, you get INDEFINITE suspensions. I DO NOT RECOMMEND PLAYING THIS GAME, WORSE COMMUNITY AND SUPPORT THAN CSGO

Great classic game that has improved massively with the DE remaster. New campaigns and maps are awesome and a super fun time playing

Great game, I am not very good anymore at these games, but enjoy it. I think a good addition to your game collection.

Game is a very fun multi and single player experience. There is a bit of a skill gap if you want to play online though, do the different tutorials and stuff, don't be afraid to look up build orders and guides if you really want to get into the numbers and stuff, but if not, just do your best to read what the descriptions say and turn on the narrator in your settings if reading is difficult. The game also has some pretty great accessibility options now that I've brought that up, personally I use colorblind modes and stuff, but theres lots of little features I'm sure could help you get into the game if it feels a little vague or complicated! If you like base building games and basic strategy, this one is pretty solid without getting crazy complicated.

Out of the wave of strategy game remasters and remakes of the late 2010s, Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition stands alone. The visuals have struck the tricky balance of modernisation while retaining the visual feel of the original. All of the original content is there, rebalanced, modernised, tidied, and very playable, and a tonne of new content has been added with comparable, sometimes superior quality to the original. If you like multiplayer, the game has combined Voobly and HD Edition players into one, central mass, and the gameplay itself is brutally competitive. There's a raft of more casual lobbies and play as well, if that takes your fancy. The mods available are extensive, from small visual fixes to entire custom campaigns. For some, going in here can broaden the content of the game into years of entertainment. Or if you are like me, and love the campaigns best, there is easily more than twice the amount of voice acted campaigns, most of which are of high quality. For a little deeper nostalgia, search for the original voice acting mod :). If you're a nostalgia player and you're overwhelmed by the number of options, try the Jadwiga (Polish) and the Hautevilles (Sicilians) ones to start. If you love history with a storyline, competitive strategy gameplay, or just want to relive your childhood game, I can highly recommend this remaster. They're still releasing content, the game is still supported, and whether you get a thousand hours of enjoyment or ten, it is thoroughly, thoroughly worth the asking price. Even if they haven't quite fixed the pathing yet.

Easy to learn hard to master. AoE2 is a timeless masterpiece among RTS games and is still fun 20+ years after its original release. Not many games have been supported for this long and as result the game is full of content and mods. Fun alone, with or against friends, just buy it and play it.

What can I say? It has incredible gameplay. A huge number of factions. A ton of single player content. A ton of great online multiplayer content. It just has it all.

This game gives me a lot of nostalgia. I had a disk of AOE2 to play on my parents' shitty desktop in my childhood home. My best friend {PMAC} JbeezyTheGod and I would lay on the carpet and play this all night. We still joke about the funny little quips the NPCs say... I dont think it will have an active playerbase anymore for multiplayer, as it's so old, but if you've never played the campaign, it's definitely worth throwing a few dollars toward, especially if you can catch it on a sale.

Age of empires 2 definitive edition is an amazing game, one which all must try.

After a long journey playing this game since 2021 I've finally completed the entire Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition campaign. Note: This doesn't include the AoE2 DE DLC expansions, which currently have eight expansions. (For now) i played this game deppends on my freetime, tho i'm sure, by looking at my recorded data, it's been around 140+ days, sometimes i break for a months and even a two-year hiatus, with a total of 293 hours of Steam time. I also went from playing Easy to Moderate, and now I'm finally playing Hard. Also, because of this game, I've really gotten into history. Every time I finish a campaign, I always look for the story behind it and the civilization i'm playing with. Each civilization is always interesting to look deeper into it. I like the campaign designs in this game, from those that are really fun to play to those that really make you emotionally angry because the campaign is really strange or difficult. Overall, this game is really good if you like the RTS genre and Age of Empires itself, especially if you have played the previous version. Oh yeah, it's really nice if you don't cheat in the campaign, just do it for fun hahaha

The game plays best with conditions you set. Mission games are more fun than resource gathering.

A blast from the past that's been brought up to date, it's as good as you remember then made better.

The graphics are great, but sadly the AI performs much worse compared to the HD version, even when using the HD ai. The new AI is a joke. I only play the game COOP PVE so unfortunately I never play this version.

Great game! I only played AOE1 before that (both the OG and the DE) and this one is an absolute banger! Great gameplay, music and graphics. Just a beautiful game with just the right amount of micromanagment.

What a great game this is. Reminds me of BFME 1, 2 and War of the Ring - some of my favorite childhood games (please EA revive BFME 1 and 2, thanks). Except for the sweaty players in ranked, this game is amazing. It has a lot of campaigns and civilizations to choose from, a great gameplay and a beautiful soundtrack. The way in which every culture got a different tech tree with different troops, upgrades and building styles is really nice as well. I really can't find anything to complain about, except for again, the sweaty players in ranked who haven't touched grass since they bought it and of course, they are always in the enemy team xDD.

Like it but think the AI, just attacks without strategy, i know is there mods, but im old school, is there another game from 2000's, with better AI, on that time i play that game and is the first time trying this, now i will buy most modern versions to test.

Amazing and consistent game. It is a classic that has stood the test of time. It is an iconic masterpiece. The game has a growing single player campaign list and a large online multiplayer presence. The new definitive edition improves the visuals and makes the game feel a little smoother. It still keeps all the classic issues that make this a game that people love. Forever copied, never bested!

This game is one of the best games I've ever played and I'm glad to see it still going. Many people don't like the China DLC heroes but I personally do. I like having overpowered heroes in PVE, I don't like nor do I play pvp.

One of the best games ever made, made even better. Expansions are somewhat pricey, but the game is more enjoyable than ever before. If you love RTS, buy without hesitation.

From all aoe, only this one still keep the old spirit. The only issue is buildings continue to burn infinity after get some damage... Still no fix that in the main game.

If you're into RTS (Real-Time Strategy) this game is a MUST HAVE! Once in a while they have some DLC but even if you don't want to invest your money into that it's still one hell of a game. I had the original CD's back in the day, the HD version before this one and now the DE. A game that has +20 years of dedication finetweaking to make it one of the most fun games i've ever owned.

Its just a classic game if you are into strategy this is the game for you.

I just love AoE2. Seriously. The historical detail is incredible – seeing those civilizations come to life is so cool. The building and resource management? It's so satisfying to get your empire booming! I spend hours perfecting my defenses and building up my armies. I especially like how different each civilization is and the unique strategies you can use. It's a game that just keeps on giving. I've played it for years and still find new things to do and discover. If you're looking for a game with tons of depth and a really rewarding experience, you need to get this. Seriously, just go play it!
