my friend sterling got this game for free but, i have some words for this. At first, I hated this game. The peeps were ugly, the UI gave me migraines, and my coaster looked like a worm having a seizure. I launched the game thinking I’d build a cute little park and uninstall after an hour. Instead, I spent 6 hours trying to get a path to connect to a toilet. A TOILET. Then I blinked and it was 4AM. My guests were puking and dehydrated, my janitors were unionizing, and I was 20k in debt because I made a haunted house that literally no one wanted to ride. I told myself I’d stop. But then I discovered custom signs. Then triggered events. Then triggered sound effects. Then custom coaster blueprints and steam mods and now I’m spending 4 real-world hours perfecting a horror-themed food court that 7 fake people will walk past without even looking at. My friends play War Thunder. I play God, screaming at pathfinding AI and sacrificing frame rate for vibes. I MADE SWIFTIE LAND FOR CRYING OUT LOUD I don't play this game. I live in it. I rot in it. I dream in queue line grids. I speak in pathing errors. I crave that “100% scenery rating” hit like a junkie in a back alley. My brain is a sandbox map with no auto-save. My loved ones haven’t heard from me since I discovered animatronic skeletons. In short: I hate this game. I hate it so much. 5 stars. 10/10. Send help.

I loved roller coaster/amusement type games and I've saved up to buy this game but now that i have it, its so difficult play with because the build mode is so horrible. I'm just upset about how i thought it would be easy and fun but it just turned out confusing and janky. This game is unfriendly to the building aesthetic. Definitely unfriendly to players that want to add their theme to their park. Its very confuzled when you want to build something. Straight up confusing. I would not recommend this game to anyone.

Planet Coaster is an exceptionally detailed and immersive theme park simulation game that invites players to unleash their creativity by designing, building, and managing their own amusement parks with unprecedented depth and flexibility. Developed by Frontier Developments, the game stands out in the genre by blending robust management mechanics with an intuitive and powerful building toolkit, making it equally appealing to both strategy enthusiasts and creative designers. From the ground up, Planet Coaster offers a rich sandbox environment where every aspect of park creation—from roller coaster engineering and scenery placement to staff management and guest satisfaction—is under the player’s meticulous control, resulting in a deeply satisfying and endlessly replayable experience. At the core of the gameplay is the intricate construction system, which empowers players to craft highly customized rides, especially roller coasters, with fine-tuned control over every curve, drop, and loop. The coaster editor is not only user-friendly but also sophisticated enough to create thrilling, smooth, and unique rides that can be tested and tweaked in real-time, offering a rewarding sense of accomplishment when a creation comes together perfectly. Beyond rides, Planet Coaster excels in its detailed scenery tools, allowing players to place, rotate, and scale thousands of objects to build thematic environments that range from whimsical fantasy worlds to hyper-realistic park settings. This freedom to design at a granular level encourages creativity and personalization, making each park truly unique. Management aspects are equally robust, requiring players to balance finances, guest happiness, staff efficiency, and park upkeep. The simulation of guest behavior is nuanced, with visitors reacting realistically to ride excitement levels, queue times, cleanliness, and park aesthetics, adding a strategic layer to decisions about expansions and improvements. Staff roles such as mechanics, entertainers, and janitors must be assigned thoughtfully to maintain smooth operations, while marketing and research unlock new attractions and upgrades, ensuring long-term progression and challenge. The game’s dynamic day-night cycles and weather effects add further immersion, influencing guest moods and operational demands. Graphically, Planet Coaster delivers vibrant, colorful visuals combined with detailed animations that bring parks to life. Guests exhibit lively behaviors and interactions, rides operate with impressive realism, and environmental effects—from flowing water to lush foliage—contribute to an inviting atmosphere that draws players into their creations. The audio design complements the visuals with cheerful background music, ride sounds, and ambient noises, enhancing the overall park ambiance. Community engagement is another highlight of Planet Coaster, featuring a robust workshop integration that allows players to share their creations and download others’ parks, rides, and scenery, fostering a collaborative and inspiring ecosystem. This feature dramatically extends the game’s lifespan and provides endless fresh content for players to enjoy and learn from. While Planet Coaster shines in many areas, it does present some challenges. The game’s complexity and depth can be overwhelming for newcomers, requiring time and patience to master the myriad building and management systems. Performance issues may arise in larger parks due to the sheer number of objects and guests, and occasional bugs or interface quirks can disrupt the otherwise smooth experience. Additionally, some players might find the financial balancing acts and guest management less forgiving compared to more casual simulation titles. In conclusion, Planet Coaster stands as a landmark achievement in theme park simulation, offering a perfect marriage of creative freedom and strategic management. Its unparalleled customization options, engaging gameplay mechanics, and vibrant presentation combine to deliver a deeply rewarding and endlessly creative experience. Whether crafting breathtaking roller coasters, designing intricate themed worlds, or meticulously managing park operations, players will find Planet Coaster a rich playground for imagination and strategy that continues to captivate and inspire. Good stuff: very customizable buildings in comparison to RCT 3, a wide variety of props, including community made ones, custom lighting Bad stuff: runs poorly and you can't even open a rollercoaster with a high g-force

I'm making rollercoasters that I wish were real everywhere in my sandbox world. Real life theme parks are sssoooooo expensive, so I guess a virtual one will do. First person camera helps to support my illusion of riding a rollercoaster even if its not real at all lol The only thing that is not my favourite is how open and flexible it is, its weird I know since that's suppose to be its winning aspect, but I feel ease at the grid placement in Rollercoaster Tycoon, but I can't complain since the freedom to place and do whatever whacky rollercoaster is a huge plus, it really lets my imagination runs free, perhaps it could run free at your imagination too

I have mixed feelings about this game. I feel like I should like it since it's similar to RCT3, but I found myself more stressed than having fun with it. It takes SO LONG to build anything that looks good compared to other tycoon games I've played. The controls felt intuitive to me. I think the economy in the normal game mode is unbalanced. You struggle early and can't build what you want, but then later on cash is so easy to get that it's a sandbox. So there's very little game play for the tycoon aspect of the game. By far the worst part is performance though. I had gotten about 10% of the space in my park filled out and the frame rate was struggling. 5/10 game for me.

Graphics by default weren't that great on my computer despite having Windows 11 but enough proper tweaking of the in game graphic settings based on Youtube videos can make some improvements for both graphics and lag.. sometimes the game may freeze either way but not quite every time.. the replay value and creativity should make up the difference for some.. enjoy

Gets real laggy and drops below 60 fps even on higher end rigs when the park hits 2500 guests, seems it is not CPU optimized, i ain't even using 1/3 of the entire map yet and i just started to plot down a monorail line!

This game really allows for endless creativity. Great attention to detail with the coaster designs. Very accurate to their real-life counterparts. Plus, the presentation is seriously charming and pretty unique for a theme park building game. Much more of relaxing vibe, which suits this type of game well. Some of the building systems are really fidgety, especially the path builder and building grid, which can be extremely time consuming. Overall though, if you're a fan of tycoon games, then Planet Coaster certainly won't disappoint. Side note: this might unironically be one of my all-time favourite video game soundtracks.

Fun and entertaining, it is a little frustrating on the size of park you can build or the number of items you can place within the park but apart from that i would recommend this game to anyone.

If you want a game that lets you design and build nice looking theme parks you’ll enjoy this. Building can be frustrating and takes a lot of effort to get used to. Thankfully if you’re not that creative the Steam Workshop has you covered. The path system is also kind of wonky. Unfortunately if you want a tycoon management game that lets you run a theme park this is very bare bones and unsatisfying. Management has no depth and it’s almost impossible to fail. As a designer style of game I rate it positive despite not being my cup of tea.

Planet Coaster is a visually stunning theme park simulation game with a lot of potential. Building your own park, designing intricate roller coasters, and managing every detail is incredibly satisfying at first, especially with the amazing customization options and creative freedom the game offers. However, the base game starts to feel limited after a while. While it’s fun to build and experiment, the available content feels somewhat bare-bones, especially when it comes to rides, decorations, and park management features. Without the variety and new features that come with additional DLCs, things can get repetitive quickly. To really get the most out of Planet Coaster, you’ll need to invest in DLCs, which add much-needed depth and diversity. These expansions bring new rides, themes, and mechanics, but they do come at an extra cost. For players who aren’t willing to shell out for these, the experience can quickly feel stale. Verdict: 7/10 Planet Coaster offers great fun for a while, but the base game falls short in content. DLCs are essential for keeping things fresh, making it hard to recommend without additional investment.

It's Great for whatever you have in mind, joy, misery, despair. For example: hitting people with coasters, Fire jets and blinding lights. Or, if you want to do the boorrring way, make it amusing for the guests. (All jokes aside it's a great game do what you want 10/10)

Very fun game, but all the tricks needed to make a smooth custom coaster is cumbersome and makes building coasters a chore. Hope that was fixed in PC2

Unfortunately, the game did not live up to my expectations. I have experiences from Planet Zoo that is also from Frontier, which is a few years newer than Planet Coaster, and I expected the games to be relatively similar. They are relatively similar in appearance and layout, but there are significantly fewer things that are included in the game without buying DLC. In addition, the management is very confusing and there are few things you can control and change. There is also relatively little to do in this game compared to Planet Zoo. Making rollercoasters and paths was also hard, I struggled quite alot with making good-looking tracks and paths.

I actually love this game, but I hate Frontier and their corpo greed. I wish I was excited and able to purchase PC2. Money is not the issue, it's their garbage practices, following the industry, in creating unfinished games lacking in content just to try and sell it to us later. They sell a full price game for "sheep" to be beta testers of their trash, and intentionally withhold basic content with the sole purpose of DLC. And now they are dismantling the steam workshop access that made their games king to begin with. Just like Cities Skylines II - ask them how that's going. Eff right off. Did you catch that Frontier? Eff off. I hope you follow in the greedy footsteps of Ubisoft going down in flames so that a passionate, gamer-first studio can rise from your ashes.

Tried to play this for a couple of hours and I struggle with two things. - Pathing: It's really weird to create a path that just works and goes straight! Instead it's always curved. - Building and placing: Why are there no buttons for like 90 degree rotation? It's clunky as hell!
