Just like good old fashioned rollercoaster tycoon. The game has a lot of things to offer wether that be the basics or more advanced features. The difficulty is well-balanced, probably the hardest part is building the roller coaster themselves. Best of all, the game doesn’t require any DLCs, if you want to finish the career mode and get all the achievements. In general, the base game is enough for tens of hours of fun. I remember getting this thing for less than 2 euro, which was a steal, but I wouldn’t spend much more than that.
Final Rating: 9/10

Introduction
Planet Coaster is a modern theme park simulation and management game developed by Frontier Developments, spiritual successor to classics like RollerCoaster Tycoon. It allows players to build, manage, and customize their dream amusement park with a level of creative freedom rarely seen in the genre. Known for its detailed coaster creation tools and vibrant visuals, Planet Coaster has become a favorite among fans of sandbox and management sims alike.
Gameplay and Mechanics
The game is divided into three main modes: Career, Sandbox, and Challenge. In Career Mode, players complete objectives within pre-built parks. Challenge Mode introduces budgeting and goals in a freeform setting, while Sandbox Mode allows limitless building without financial constraints. The standout feature is the incredibly detailed coaster and scenery editor, which enables players to craft custom rides and landscapes piece by piece. Path systems, building designs, and ride layouts can be tweaked to perfection, giving full control over the park's look and function. Behind the creativity is a solid management system, requiring players to balance guest satisfaction, finances, staff, and ride maintenance. While not as complex as pure business sims, it offers enough depth to keep players engaged beyond building.
Graphics and Atmosphere
Visually, Planet Coaster is charming and polished, with colorful parks, expressive guests, and beautifully animated rides. The whimsical art style enhances the fun, and dynamic lighting and weather effects add to immersion. The game’s audio is equally impressive, featuring an upbeat soundtrack, realistic crowd noise, and the iconic screams of thrill-seeking guests. Custom music and voiceover support add further personality to each park.
Replayability and Community
The game’s Steam Workshop integration and extensive modding support make it incredibly replayable. Thousands of user-created rides, buildings, and entire parks are available to download, constantly refreshing the experience. Whether perfecting park aesthetics, managing guest flow, or testing custom coasters, there’s always something new to try. Console versions include many of these features, though with slightly fewer customization tools than the PC version.
Conclusion
Planet Coaster is a joyous, detailed, and highly creative theme park simulator. It balances robust building tools with solid park management, offering hours of fun for both casual builders and dedicated sim fans. While its management systems could be deeper, its creative freedom and community support more than make up for it. Pros: - Deep and flexible building tools - Stunning visuals and audio design - Vibrant community and mod support - High replay value with diverse game modes bCons: - Management mechanics are relatively light - Can be overwhelming for newcomers - Console UI is less intuitive than PC
Final Rating: 9/10
A must-play for fans of simulation and creativity, Planet Coaster delivers an endlessly entertaining and visually delightful theme park experience.

This game is really good, it includes everything it should have. My only complaint is how I have a very old mac, So i can't play Planet Coaster 2, and it looks super fun. But, maybe they could add the whole "Attach scenery to ride" Or A scale tool, But overall, This game deserves a 9/10 Rating.

The number of rides, stalls, and scenery pieces in the base game is unmatched. The game really allows you to be creative in how to design your park. I recommend this one if you are into management-style games because the level of detail in how you manage staff members, vendors, rides, signs for advertising, and even the ability to sync things like fireworks with certain triggers. This game provides the nostalgia of the original favorite, Roller Coaster Tycoon, but goes much more in depth, enriching the experience.

I enjoy limitation in creative games, it both gives you a bar for roughly how good you can make something, and makes the final result both more rewarding and impressive. Sometimes less is more, and this game is far too much more.

Cant have "free roam fun" no cheats for more money or more rides, definitely not what it used to be. Parks arent even big enough to fit more than one coaster.

Great game has long list of pros with not many cons such as a strategy side to the game and takes in all accounts of reality the only con really is the game is very addicting. More than 12 hours on first day of buying.

Needs a tutorial for learning how to play the game for anyone new to this type of game. It is extremely confusing at times, and mechanics can be hard to move around also. I like the game from my attempts of playing... but would find it more enjoyable with a tutorial so I could learn the ropes of playing better. Trying to figure it out is a little stressful.

"Planet Coaster" looks amazing, but playing it can be a headache. The management aspects feel overly complicated, and the UI is a mess, making even simple tasks frustrating. Sure, you can build crazy roller coasters, but actually running a park efficiently feels more like work than fun. If you just want to make cool rides, it’s fine—but as a tycoon game, it’s more stressful than enjoyable.

This game is not meant for people to get into and learn. If you're not good at tycoon money management and want to learn, this isn't the game to do it in. Poorly designed and if you don't have a guide to explain how to start, you basically HAVE to get a new save.

Very fun game. Lots of options for creating parks, coasters, and rides. Very similar to the old Roller Coaster Tycoon games but with updated graphics and gameplay options. Plus the park management is very detailed if you're into that aspect of the game.

Some time back, I was driving home from college on the highway one day when suddenly, a car behind me didn't stop when the rest of traffic was. They were probably going about 60-70 miles per hour. Regardless, they slammed into my vehicle, and I'll spare you the worst details. As horrifying as that experience was, I'd still say the most painful thing I've ever done in my life is trying to place paths in this game.

As a professional coaster maker, bt dubs, I recommend that they make it possible for me to shoot people into the moon with the death coaster. However, I can't be allowed to use the coaster in the maner that I wish for this game because they want to "keep people safe" and "make sure that the community is happily alive" JOKES. LIARS. THEY DO NOT WANT MY POWER INSIDE OF THE PARK. something awful just happened to me while i was writing this review. sorry I had to pause writing for your entertainment. It was important. I am in agony. Though this game was fun. I did like making it so that people had to pay to p33 inside of a clown. Bathroom. Bathroom to be clear. 10/10 really enjoyed this game.

Bro I got so many hours on this game despite my pc struggling loading everything later on. I am limited by my awful pc yet it is still a game I can't put down. Although I do hate how some controls and options are just more limiting than they should be which I don't understand are in the sequel rather than this one.

I love Roller Coaster Tycoon 2, which I played as a kid. This is similar to this in some ways but with added features and much more customization features. Not super intuitive at times to figure out the controls, but I've found it to be a lot of fun.

I really like this game. It reminds me of the old Rollercoaster Tycoon. But I'm getting frustrated. No matter what I do in my park, I'm always, ALWAYS teetering on having negative funds. I'll climb over zero a few hundred bucks, then back down to negative a few hundred bucks, then back again... I've been designing this park for hours and I just can't get ahead. Seems almost artificially controlled - NOTHING I do helps. NOTHING I do seems to make a difference at all. It's weird. I don't remember it being like this when I played a couple years ago.

In many ways, Planet Coaster is a very detailed "Roller Coaster Tycoon 3", but with even more detail and freedom for creativity. For anyone with a roller coaster and theme park passion, this game has just about everything you could ask for. Obviously no game is ever perfect, but you can tell that Frontier really put a lot of time and detail into creating something special here.

I have played this game a while now and have never really committed to a park until today (except the 'challenge' mode that I suck at) and wanted to try really hard to make a nice looking park on a sandbox world so I attempted to make custom buildings and stuff. It was going fine at first and I tried to learn the building controls, but they are so unnecessarily hard. Some walls snap to buildings while others don't. There are roofing types for a 45 degree roof that is 4 meters high, but not one for the smaller 2 meter high roof?! There is a 'snap' grid that stops you from having intersecting objects but turning it off makes everything uneven. You can terraform with circles, but not a square shape??? The building feels all janky but the rest of the game feels fine. I suppose it is a roller coaster sim and got what I expected, but I believe that the buildings should be a large part of the experience too. I felt that the park seems bland with everything existing outside.

i play planet coaster on mac. i first got the game on the app store, and kinda lived to regret it after i found out that theme makers toolkit is a thing. then i got it on steam with all the dlcs included for 45 DOLLARS! but i seriously recommend this game, even without dlcs. i know dlcs make it better but to be honest this game is very different from theme park tycoon, in a good way. there are some flaws but for the most part everything is near perfect. please watch a couple of videos before you buy the game but to be honest all those videos are going to tell you the same thing i'm telling you. thanks for reading this review!
