Great to play with a group of friends! It was easy to set up a world and no spam inviting friends was needed, they can just join from the in-game menu with a click, I appreciate the range of characters and their abilities and how it effects the gameplay

Leans heavily into the artstyle, which is very nice. However, the controls and gampelay are really rough, and clunky. It is annoying to swap between items/weapons and annoying to navigate the main menu, settings, as well as in-game crafting menu. The game also does a very poor job at explainign things. The gameplay loop seems to be: - teach you nothing, find out yourself - die - do better next time with what you learned last time I can see the appeal for those that REALLYlove survival games. It is like a souls-game or roguelike, but for survival. You fail over and over and over again until you learn enough to progress. However, for me, it became very repetitive way too fast. Repeating the same early content over and over just for minimum progress. Since I don't necessarily love Survival, it is just not for me. But I want to make this clear: it might be great for survival enthusiasts.

The game has always felt unfinished and the dialogue on characters is no diffrent than when your character comments on the rock you just investigated, you arent really sure what you should be focusing on and you have no idea where to go to progress the game or get to any bosses without looking at any tutorials or wiki pages and spoiling absolutely everything. I found the daily rewards and seperate shop thing a little questionable as it being a go to marketing strategy of gatcha games. But thats just my small nitpicks. The game completely hinges on lore hype, you can look through seperate sites to find little lore stuff and more dopamine rewards for the little klei shop and stuff and i was roped into this game because of the lore and the animations, making your theories is fun but besides that there isnt much to look at in gameplay. With the new update not adding anything to fill the emptiness of the world (which i will excuse as a design choise because part of me still wants to defend the game.) and instead its just adding more lategame stuff that i will never even dream of reaching, only masters and speedrunners will ever get to that point and i feel like with this update the game has turned into an rpg, I will probably still play the game with friends at some points. So if you are someone who doesnt have weeks of their life to spend dying over and over again until they become a master at the game to find another cryptic peice of lore and then wait another 2 years to repeat the cycle, or dont have friends then dont get the game. Side note (im pretty sure Klei was never planning on having an ending to the lore but to continue as long as they can.) Also the time that it takes isnt part of my issue its probably a small team, most of kleis work force seems to be going to oxygen not included with how many DLC they are pumping out. Im just saying that it isnt/wasnt worth it for me and wasnt what i expected.

This game is SO much fun. I got it in 2022 and am an absolute fanatic. You get to do so much stuff in this game, and the content feels truly endless. Definitely my favorite game.

Very difficult at times, and the learning curve is a bit steep, but dying isn't terrible! Fun to learn how to survive and interact with other players in a helpful way. Extremely rewarding to progress in this game.

I love Terraria, SV, etc, and so people always recommend DST, coming from those areas. But I've just never really enjoyed the game. I try to enjoy it since other people make it to be so fun, but I just can't. I bought DS and didn't really enjoy it so I decided to buy DST to play with a friend, but everytime we died and just got bored. So yeah. The game is alright but it's really boring and dying just kills motivation.

Don't Starve Together is one of the most unique survival games out there. The Tim Burton-like art style, eerie atmosphere, and wide variety of characters and creatures make every playthrough feel different. Playing with friends adds a lot of fun (and chaos), but the game doesn’t go easy on you. There’s a steep learning curve, and the lack of tutorials can be overwhelming at first. Still, once you get the hang of it, surviving each season feels incredibly rewarding. The devs are still actively updating the game, adding new content and improving balance. If you enjoy challenging survival games and don’t mind a bit of trial and error, this is definitely worth picking up.

Fun, odd, and challenging survivor game full of weird creatures and characters. Join your friends in a Tim Burton-esque world trying to survive amongst the bizarre plant and wildlife. If you get it, for your own sake go in blind, discovering how the world works is a lot of fun.

"Don't Starve Together" is one of those games I always go back to when I want to have a great time with friends. The goal is simple – don’t die. But that’s exactly where the challenge (and all the fun) begins. Surviving isn’t as easy as it sounds, especially when you're dealing with hunger, monsters, seasons, and the occasional teammate accidentally setting everything on fire. All of that makes for chaotic, memorable moments and a lot of laughs. One thing I absolutely love is the music. It’s so well-made and fits the world perfectly – it really helps set the mood and makes the whole experience even more immersive. And... the Catcoons are super adorable <3

What I consider to be my favourite game of all time, as I can enjoy it both when I want something relaxing and when I want something demanding. It's a brutally uncomprimising survival game where knowledge is power. I heavily recommend going in with as little knowledge as possible. This game also features a beautiful and unique artstyle, with a perfectly matching sountrack. Compared to other games, Don't Starve Together recieves updates super often, AND said updates get released with a fully animated short. There is lore behind this game but it isn't a focal point but it's still pretty intriguing.

Every time you start a world you will have a moment of bliss where you will have pure fun making your base and collecting stuff. Then you will steal an egg from a big bird, or you'll hit the wrong spider's nest, or you'll just survive up to winter. Then you will realize that the developers made it their personal mission to torture you. And I think that's awesome. I love this game. Every update that adds something positive for your survival, also adds a "but" as well. You can now plant crops "but" they can also get infested by locust There's cool stuff in the ocean now "but" otters will steal your stuff etc. This game is designed to be hard but fair. Every death was your mistake, and every vistory was earned. So take a torch and step into the darkness.

🚫 Not Recommended (unless you're a masochist such as myself who thrives on pain, suffering, and emotional devastation) I’m going to say this once, loudly and with the emotional stability of a starving raccoon: I do not recommend this game. Unless, and hear me out; you are the kind of person who puts hot sauce in your eyes for fun, considers taxes a hobby, and thinks "emotional damage" is just spicy seasoning for your soul. “Don’t Starve Together” is not a survival game. No. It is a slow-motion breakup with reality, served on a beautifully hand-drawn plate of despair and bees. So. Many. Bees. 🌲 MY JOURNEY INTO MADNESS: Day 1: "Gather twigs," they said. "Pick some flowers," they said. It’s cute. It’s whimsical. I named a frog. I was doing great. Day 3: My campfire went out while I was crafting a hat made of grass. A shadow demon shanked me in the dark while whispering eldritch riddles. I respawned next to a spider orgy. Day 7: I made a meat effigy. I don’t know why. I think it was to prepare for the inevitable, which came 20 minutes later when my friend, whom I trusted, lit our base on fire trying to cook a carrot. Day 12: A tree came to life and chased me halfway across the map. I asked it to stop politely. It did not. Day 16: Winter arrived. My thermal stone turned cold. My soul turned colder. I fashioned a coat out of beefalo fur and my friend’s broken trust. Day 20: We were attacked by dogs. Why are there dogs?! What do they want?! I died again, but spiritually this time. 💀 THINGS THAT HAVE KILLED ME IN THIS GAME: Darkness Spiders Tree monsters Freezing to death Overheating Starvation (ironic, I know) Bees Frogs My own friends A sentient penguin horde A moose-goose. Yeah. That’s real. 🧠 MY MENTAL STATE: You know that meme with the guy in the burning house saying "this is fine"? That’s me. Except the house is made of twigs, the fire was started by my teammate trying to cook a berry, and the guy is now haunted by hallucinations of Charlie whispering Latin backwards. 👥 MULTIPLAYER? LOL. You think playing with friends will make this easier. Wrong. It just means you’ll have someone to blame when they pick all the flowers and summon a forest god to annihilate your camp because they wanted to "make a pretty wreath." Teamwork makes the dream work... unless that dream is a fever nightmare about starvation and pig people. 📢 FINAL THOUGHT: This game will test your patience, your friendships, and your sanity. It's beautiful. It's cruel. It’s a handcrafted sandbox of torment wrapped in Tim Burton’s art style and sprinkled with goose trauma. If you want a fun, relaxing, cozy survival game, go play Stardew Valley. If you want to feel like a raccoon in a burning dumpster trying to juggle flaming meatballs while hallucinating shadow wolves, then Don’t Starve Together is for you. 10/10 Would die of starvation again.

Overall, a fantastic game with infinite replayability. Thrust into the world known as The Constant with just you, and/or multiple players to survive through the seasons. You can build a base, craft useful items, and gather resources. But be warned, as there are untold perils. The game itself is very unforgiving to new players. Typically you explore, learn as you go, die, then respawn with more knowledge. The game provides different game modes that make it easier or harder to the players wishes. Almost everything in the game can be customized when you make your own server too which is very nice. There are several characters to choose from to provide a different experience or challenge on top of the main game play loop. The art style of the game is beautiful. It's a great experience alone, with friends, or with randoms if you decide to try out a server yourself. If it's your first time, I would suggest sticking with Wilson until you can survive by yourself for a while. You do earn inspiration points which is unique to each character and provides new or expanded abilities. If you like it there are tons of guides out there to help or you can learn as you go too. Overall the game is great and well worth it at full price.

The GUI on controller is terrible. No descriptions, every action takes so many steps to do. Took hours just to learn how to create and use basic items. The very unforgiving death mechanic makes it even more difficult to learn. Coupled with the very slow play and seemingly being difficult just for the sake of being difficult, this is not a friendly game. Probably worth it if you like grinding and hardcore playstyles.

It is a fun game with friends (obviously) but it is definitely hard to get into if you don't know what you're doing, I still don't really know what I'm doing and so the game isn't top tier for me, but I can definitely see the games potential and it is still fun to mess around in.

Don't Starve Together has a strong, steep learning curve; it throws you directly into this cruel unforgiving world where just about everything want's to kill you, even the shadows. If you're willing to be bad at this game and sit and learn the mechanics, whether through trial and error, or looking up tutorials and play throughs online: then this game might be the horror / dark art style, crafting survival game for you! I love playing this game solo, and online multiplayer. There are also great mods in the workshop that can make this game easier and harder, or prettier if that's your thing too. This game is incredibly versatile and that's why I love it so much, as even without the mods, there's more than one playstyle mode, relaxed (which is kind of like easy mode), endless, survival, and there are 2 way harder ones that I completely avoid bc I am nowhere near that good yet lol. There are also a wide variety of characters you can play with different perks and drawbacks and you can customize the looks of each of them! Plus you get more customizable skins the more you play which is pretty cool too.

Everything attacks me - the starting menu is completely cluttered

I absolutely LOVE this game!! This game focuses much more on the survival aspect of the world instead of building or bosses like Minecraft or Terraria. Weirdly enough, It gets nearly no attention on YouTube, That's why maybe the marketing is bad. But the game is genuinely really good! Would Definitely recommend.

it's playable solo with mods. You can even get a spawner and go in creative mode if you just want to build. Some choices, imo, that hurt the game: bad directional etc- horrendous. the character control, placement, etc is just... bad. there is no delete - I find that crazy considering the amount you pile up. in a lot of vids you see garbage everywhere. the delete mods don't work anymore- everything is outdated. the map is terrible - you can mod that... no zoom out - you get fog and you can't go out far above, so you can't see your whole farm for placement, orientation etc. it feels like a mobile game - they do have one - but reviews say that one is bad...so... no houses but there is decor? I admit, I thought there'd be houses to tinker in... or build. nope. It has a lot to do - you'll spend a lot of time getting no where. I think it is good for what it is... I like the art style. the chars. It - again, has a lot of busy work, armor, crafts, etc.

Today I logged in to look at this for the first time in years. I found that you could no longer play it online without agreeing to the mandatory data mining, and many servers just appeared to be 'skin' harvesting servers and very few people actually 'playing' the game. What is the point in standing there AFK for days/weeks/months to earn the ridiculous amount of cosmetic tripe they seem to have now? For me, no point at all. Quickly uninstalled again and I won't revisit.
