I really, REALLY wanted to like this game. I had it wishlisted forever. It is astonishingly boring. The gameplay isn't just repetitive, it is almost insulting to the player as it removes any sort of detective work in a police game. Ask for ID - Frisk - tells you what the charges are - pick the charges it just told you. I chase a perp, he hits someone with his car and runs, and I can't charge him with a hit and run? Christ. Lose me with this crap. This game sucks.

Pretty fun top down driving/shooting game. Not bad story. The only problem with the game is thats its VERY short for the 30$ pricetag. It took me about 11ish hours to finish it and then 2 more to finish all the achievements. If its on sale for about 20$ its definitely worth a buy.

The Precinct is a neon-noir action-adventure game developed by Fallen Tree Games. Set in the fictional Averno City during 1983, players assume the role of rookie officer Nick Cordell Jr., navigating a top-down open world inspired by classic cop films and early Grand Theft Auto titles. The game emphasizes authentic police procedures: issuing tickets, conducting arrests, and responding to crimes ranging from minor infractions to gang-related activities. Players must adhere to proper protocols—such as reading Miranda rights and avoiding excessive force—to progress effectively. While the game offers a variety of missions and dynamic events, some players have noted that the gameplay loop can become repetitive over time. The Precinct offers a distinctive take on the open-world genre by placing players in the role of a law-abiding officer, emphasizing procedural authenticity over chaotic gameplay. While its unique approach and nostalgic setting have garnered praise, the game's repetitive mechanics and technical shortcomings may deter some players. For those interested in a methodical police simulation with a retro flair, The Precinct presents an engaging experience, especially if approached with tempered expectations or during a discounted sale. now i know i gave this good game a thumbs down, but it is for a very, very good reason, the game itself is actually damn good, but there is a massive issue with it, you're not allowed to be a bad cop in literally any way, shape or form, nothing, and that is very critical in a cop game like this one, because when you reach level 20, you'll unlock the best cop car out there, great right? No, because there's nothing to do with the great car after you finish the game, you won't level up past level 20, so the big question rises, why should i keep playing this after i finish the main story? the racing and time attack stages? they don't really matter at all, there is no outfits to unlock, no cosmetics for your cop car, no characters to switch, so why would i wanna play? Why give tickets? Why pull people over? Just why everything after you finish the main story, it's such a goody two shoes kinda game, it gets so boring so quickly after a while, I know this is not a GTA game, i totally get it, but when im a cop, give me at least the space to be a little corrupt, give me more of the game, there are so many missing things, and i absolutely HATE Kelly's accent, the only time i liked the guy is when he came to help at the end stages, and another thing is the gangs because really? Only two gangs? and arresting the bosses is almost as easy and tame as pulling someone over, there is no challenge in facing them, literally fucking nothing and i have the game on max difficulty, so idk how easy the game would have been on very easy, game would probably just says thank you for your purchase and shows you the cast screen, because it's just way too easy it felt like nothing, but back on the gangs, after you take them both down, you won't even find a single car related to the gangs, because well you jailed the bosses, so no more even a shred of fun, so it's like when you finish the game, you're now basically playing the game as a developer testing the game without adding enemies, almost like in alpha stage of the game, you become a basic cop just doing tickets and break out random pointless brawls, and they're pointless BECAUSE XP MEANS NOTHING AND NOTHING TO GAIN FROM PLAYING ANY FURTHER

I had fun while it lasted, but the idea of procedural generation, detective, and open world make you think there's more to it, when there really isn't. The detective work you do is not real detective work, you basically just pick up guns from corpses and eventually the actual detectives tell you to capture a guy. The story is short and not very sweet, its not satisfying. I'm disappointed this isn't early access, because it feels like there should be more. I wish there was more, because god the game was great while I had things to do. There is no real replayability, you restart the story and you might have some differing dialogue options to get silly replies, but the crimes will all be the same and you will follow the same path. Once you unlock everything, there simply is nothing left, and it didn't take long. When this game goes on sale, I'd totally recommend it. Just don't buy the "Police Code 3" bundle. Police Simulator: Patrol Officers is absolute copaganda and paints the world as hand holding kumbaya more times than not. 20 hours of gametime isn't bad, but I am a bit heartbroken that it didn't live up to my internal hype. I wouldn't call this game copaganda, but at times it feels like the idea of busting corruption is mentioned far too much, while not delivering much actual commentary on real corruption, such as brutality or power-trippers. The only corruption we see is the kind that helps criminals, not the kind that directly hurts actual people. It feels as if the actual disadvantages of corruption are avoided as a topic entirely.

A rare gem of a game that has really fun gameplay and a solid base to expand on if they ever decide to do🤞. I enjoy this game because it 1. Lets me play at a pace that I like. Doing daily missions of my own choice. Not having to follow the main story if you just want to enjoy the daily crime solving for awhile. 2. Since release the devs have been listening to the community and fixing and balancing out bugs and adding tweaks to AI behavior in game. +++ 3. Plus it’s just a solid Police game that lets you be an officer as you so desire. Driving in game is a bit loose, but it is still fun chasing down people for violations. Some more severe than others. Which makes the chases a bit more interesting. Gunplay is good for the most part. Took a bit to get comfortable with but once I did it works. Story is well written and the characters and voices in game were a bit over the top, but it kept it a bit more lighthearted I believe. Overall though I have enjoyed the NPC’s and the interactions between them. Highly recommend it to everyone! Hope they continue support for many more years.

My thoughts on this game. ・Pretty chill game like old GTA vibes but as a cop. ・It is not hyper realistic cop simulator game and I think it should not be. ・Using controller feels more natural on this game. ・Physics and interactions are cool. ・Only bug I have encountered was being not able to arrest man inside trash bin. ・So far have not encountered single performance issue. ・Storyline and Dialogues are pretty corny but it is okay for 80's ・Wish they add more support interactions like calling ambulance or firefighter on the scene. Overall 8/10 for being chill.

An entertaining game, though the storyline lacks depth. You might feel bored after finishing the main campaign, but the gameplay has a way of drawing you back in. A co-op or online mode would likely be a significant improvement.

20+ Hours In – Loving It, But These Bugs Are Breaking the Flow I’ve been really enjoying the game so far — around 20 hours in and overall it’s a great experience. But a few bugs and logic gaps are really killing the immersion and fun for me right now: ⸻ 1. Helicopter Patrol Issues Most of the callouts during helicopter patrols break or become unplayable. Once I accept a pursuit, it doesn’t stay active — I’m forced to cancel and move on. Also, being asked to apprehend suspects from a helicopter just doesn’t make sense. There’s no way to complete the scenario properly. Needs serious logic adjustments. ⸻ 2. Car Pursuit Mechanics Pursuits are a toss-up — sometimes they’re fun, sometimes they’re a mess. PIT maneuvers often don’t register, and cornering feels like I’m steering a boat. It’s especially frustrating when heavy vehicles like station wagons magically outrun muscle cars. Can we get better driving physics or attributes that reflect real-world handling? ⸻ 3. Lethal Force Confusion There have been multiple times where I get run over by a drunk driver, and when I respond with lethal force — I’m penalized for unlawful use of force?! If a suspect is using a vehicle as a weapon, officers in real life are 100% authorized to stop the threat. This needs to be addressed for immersion and realism. ⸻ 4. Backup/Support Limitations Why do backup support options disappear once you move from pursuit to apprehension? The suspect’s still in a vehicle, often still fleeing. In reality, backup doesn’t just vanish the moment you get close. Support options should remain available until the suspect is fully in custody. ⸻ 5. Suspect Vehicles = Tanks? Is it just me or do suspect vehicles become indestructible during chases? I’ve seen beat-up sedans take five PITs and still keep going like nothing happened. This really kills the realism and makes pursuits feel like arcade chaos rather than tactical gameplay. ⸻ TL;DR: Game’s great — loving the concept and the immersion when it works. But some core mechanics, especially around pursuits, force, and support, really need polish to match the rest of the experience.

Simplistic story, dull dialogues (your dialogue choices do not matter - why put them there in the first place?). forgettable characters with only their ucanniness being unique characteristic. some assets (including one critical) were obviously AI generated (in a bad way) Gameplay is solid with few annoying elements: - Your partner is almost useless, rarely helps you when apprehending suspects, seems to have no agenda of his own - Helicopters love to stay at the exact same suspect you are staying on, especially annoying when you are chasing two people, you caught one of them and are handling them, instead of making sure the second guy does not disappear the heli just watches you and does nothing - Gunfights, especially on higher difficulties are comical - you have to put magazine worth of bullets into a single baddie in order to incapacitate them, it becomes the most apparent during boss fight which is basically a human bullet sponge - Speaking of gunfights, suspects seem to have an amazing will to fight which does not seem to be affected much by you hitting them with live ammunition - Weapon stats are weird, police baton has twice the intimidation of assault rifle? Really? QA did a good job, almost no bugs, smooth performance, despite its problems gameplay is still engaging thanks to freshness of playing a cop rather than a criminal, still that is not enough to justify ~30$ price tag

Overall I would recommend The Precinct. The graphics are pretty good. The story is "passable". The game-play takes some getting used too, but overall it is pretty fun. It takes a little bit to get used to issuing criminals with the right charges unless you're already a cop or have training. But once you get used to it, you can charge them and move along fairly quickly. For those seeking achievements, this game is fairly easy to 100%; it took me 21 hours to 100% the game and I wasn't even trying until I saw how close I was to doing it anyway. No, you can not be a dirty cop. If you want to do that, play another game.

The game is a great pick for fans of neon-noir stories and the spirit of the '80s!Special praise goes to the soundtrack-it's absolutely spot-on, capturing the era with synth-heavy beats and melodies that feel ripped straight from an old-school action movie. The atmosphere is fantastic:rainy nights, glowing neon, blaring sirens-it all pulls you right into the gritty city life. The story is a bit cliché,but it does the job and keeps the gameplay engaging. My only real gripe is with the art style of the character portraits and the UI-they feel inconsistent and not quite on par with the rest of the game’s presentation. Overall,it’s a solid experience for ABSOLUTELY ANYONE who is nostalgic for the '80s vibe and craving a moody police drama.Definitely recommended!

This game has all of the appeal that you could have asked for but no substance. It has great dialogue, a good environment, and generally is set up to be an old school cop sim. Outside of aesthetics, this game falls short BIG TIME. All you do, over and over again, in the very small map, is respond to the same generic "crimes" and drive through the city like a banshee, hitting a suspect car that bounces off of you and is way faster than you for minutes at a time. You get no missions and a story that means nothing because it doesn't affect your game play at all. Chasing someone down gets old after an hour, and unfortunately the entire game is just you picking a shift and repeatedly going through the motions so that you can chase down some guy who threw a can out of the window. The small scale war that is conducted to arrest someone involved in a car accident is absurd in a game where you're expected to correctly charge someone with crimes. I can't recommend a game in which the replay factor after the first two sessions is almost zero because there's nothing new to look forward to. Its a polished, hollow gimmick that makes me wonder why they delayed the release by 6+ months if this is the end product. I feel like I bought the idea of a game more than an actual game.

I'm very on the fence with this. I played and liked the demo prior to it ever getting released and I recommend it due to the extreme scarcity of cop games where you can do stuff by the book, (if you have a cop itch this might scratch it) but admittedly did not enjoy that much after a bit of playing. As soon as I finished the story I've put it down and I don't really intend on picking it up again unless I get a specific cop itch that needs scratching. I like that there is a bit of a focus on doing things by the book, but this is somewhat undercut by the arcadey elements (which at time of purchase I was not very aware of) and the fact you can do a lot of property damage and some other wild stuff without repercussions. That kind of stuff really takes me out of it.

So, 8.4 hours at the time of writing this may not seem like a lot of play time, but at about 6 hours in you basically experience everything there is to experience in this game. There really isn't a story, and there isn't much to do outside of what your shift requires that day. It was a fun game to play for a little while, but I very quickly became bored and overall uninterested. I also wish it was slightly cheaper, as I don't believe I got my moneys worth out of it. Great atmosphere, great soundtrack, cool idea, but not much to keep me invested. I think there is a lot of room for improvement though. Some updates and content additions could help give it a bit more longevity and replay ability, like the option to be a bad cop, which could draw a lot of people in and keep players engaged long term.

overall a very entertaining game. the "campaign" portion was a little short and a little repetitive, but i enjoyed it. now that it's over i just spend most of my time patrolling the streets. you can park your patrol car and just wait for dispatch to send you out on a call. or you can patrol around on foot and write tickets. whatever you want. there are some cons, though. your partner, Kelly, is useless. he doesn't do anything proactively. if you have more than one suspect, whichever one you choose to pursue, he'll come with you instead of going after the other suspects. Even after I've arrested a suspect, but haven't put them in my squad car yet because i want to run after the other suspect before they get away, Kelly will somehow still let the arrested suspect "escape". I wish I could replace him with a better partner. Also, you can be in a shootout with gang members and they're all shooting you. You'll switch to your automatic rifle and start mowing into them. However, if they raise their hands in surrender while you're shooting 10rds per second and you dont take your finger off the trigger immediately, you get penalized for "harming the suspect" *eye roll* Also, the helicopter support function is almost completely useless in any other situation except in a vehicle pursuit with ONE other vehicle. If there's more than one suspect and you're calling on the helo to help find the other suspects, forget about it. The pilot will automatically light you and the closest suspect up while the other ones scatter and you lose them. And finally, one major hiccup the newest update brought about - any mouse input while driving causes the car to go haywire. you're supposed to be able to shoot with the mouse while driving but after the newest update, as soon as you click any mouse button the car will veer all over the road on its own. Even after i left off the throttle completely, the car will do donuts while im trying to shoot with my mouse. overall, there's lots to love about this game despite the flaws Ive mentioned. Seems like the devs are working thru bugs pretty quickly and have updated the game several times since i've bought it. I'm hopeful they will iron out some of the kinks and perhaps make the NPC partner a little smarter. Also, hope there's some DLC in the future cause I would love more to do.

Overall, I think this game is pretty good for a small studio. The story starts off slow and remains that way until the end where it picks up a bit. Sometimes crime can get pretty crazy. For instance, you'll be arresting someone for DUI after a chase and all the sudden a shooting breaks out across the street and then a person steals a car right in front of you while all of this is going down. The dialogue is a bit cheesy. But it's supposed to be. This game was obviously inspired by Noir films even though it takes place around 1980. So think of a Noir story line, but in the Lethal Weapon era. Some consider the game repetitive. But those same people probably play AAA slop that has the player do the same thing for 60 hours. This game is only around 10 hours with just the story. I don't really like the top down play. I wish it was more like a 3rd person game where the view is behind the player's shoulder. But it wasn't that bad. You can still catch everything going on. Overall, I liked this game. I hope the devs polish it up.

I think the game has a lot of potential but as it currently is I can't say I enjoyed my time with it. The top down style and graphics are really sweet and the premise is really fun. The biggest problem is that this game is SO DAMN BORING. I really couldn't bring myself to play more than the few hours I did and wish I could still refund it. The encounters while on shifts are so quick and uninteresting after the first few times you do that type of encounter. There's no weight to your actions as a cop past getting an entirely insignificant experience penalty if you incorrectly arrest someone. Levelling up barely gives you anything after the first few levels, and you level up REALLY fast. The NPC behaviour is completely absurd at times and pretty soulless overall; there doesn't really seem to be any logic to NPC actions. Even the named characters are pretty soulless. The story is uninspired and the voice over sounds like it's AI. There just needs to be a lot more in this game; it is so lacking in so many areas.

The precinct is dare I say: one of the most fun police simulators on the market at this time. It may span in to a level of absurdness with how often you find your self in high intensity situations, but quite frankly?? That’s exactly what games like this need! Often times the issue with other true police simulations is that it can often feel as if not a lot is going on, or too much of the same is going on. In this game however I find my self wondering if a driver will make a break for it, or if I’m about to get in to a gun fight mid traffic stop because drive by shootings on this game are such a potential risk. Not only that but there are genuinely points during game play where I’m having to decide if it’s worth trying to go after one criminal or another because they spilt off and that’s such a fun in the moment circumstance to need to think about. There are ultimately only a few things which I think would make the game feel better over all: Thing one: multiplayer: I know I know, this is a BIG ask, but genuinely it would be so fun to get a group of friends and patrol together and actually organize with them instead of purely CPU officers. Plus it would put to rest my second concern over all tho we aren’t there yet. I also imagine having say: one eye in the sky communicating to ground units over steam or something could also be super fun because again: the organization! Concern 2: backup The way backup is balanced is mostly great! And keeps someone from just swarming a perp with a bunch of police and blocking Every intersection. However: not being able to call in at least one extra officer when you suddenly find your self in a fire fight you weren’t prepared for can be pretty stressful, especially during burglary calls where you go to investigate: only to find half the gang is shooting at you while the other half escapes in their van. Being able to call in a cruiser to chase the van while you address the fire fight at least would be extremely helpful (and as you can probably tell is where I was referring to multiplayer addressing one of the issues) and would prevent the poor conduct penalty from allowing suspects to escape despite you being put in a position where you can’t catch them all without the help. Over all this game is amazing and despite the criticisms I’ve made I find it extremely enjoyable and even addictive. My final point isn’t even a true critique but rather just an observation of the game mechanics being stacked against the player as I think it’s a great detail that you can’t always catch them all and sometimes will have to make a choice to let one go for the other. This game will likely provide hours of fun for me, and I’m excited to see what else may be in store

After about an hour I feel like I pretty much did all there was to do. A lot of the same activities, no real incentive to keep playing. I really dislike that you can't be a bad cop. Plant evidence sneakily, go outside of the rulebook to accomplish something. Abuse your power, etc. I smash into cars and through buildings with no repercussion. Just felt like a sandbox game where you're forced to be a goody-two shoes cop. Also, I shot probably 200 bullets into the first car chase. Additional cops just slammed into me slowing me down, spike strips kept getting dodged. The chase lasted like 10 minutes of continuously firing bullets into the back of their van. Gun fights were choppy and not terribly engaging. Hide behind cover. Pop up. Shoot. Next. Get closer. Take damage while moving. Regenerate like Wolverine. Repeat.

Game seems fun but it is quite deceptive. This is not open world sand box style, this game is very much confined within perameterss they set. The story line goes so fast and you will be done with the game in 10 hours or less. You can continue playing it but it is not as fun. This game needs depth and needs more crimes more offenses more options and obviously more to the stoy line or more storys to complete. You cannot post on the forums, at least I cannot, its all really closed up. Buyer beware this is not reverse GTA at all.

Incredibly short story... same rinse and repeat over and over with no reward. No personal garage to speak of so finding rare cars is worthless. The jumps pose no challenge and the loot collection is the only side quest the game offers. The game is fun but quickly dissipates, nothing abnormal happens outside the story driven routines. No arrest has any impact on the world and it's NPCs. I would not recommend this game unless you are looking to burn $30 for a singular short experience. Watch a "let's play" series on this don't waste your money. The voice acting is a great addition to the game from the player perspective but I'd guess that budget could have improved the game in other ways that would have a far greater impact. The voice acting while convenient, wasn't anything more than a poor Saturday morning cartoon and left me feeling the opposite of immersed. Police Quest of the '90s had better intentions with far less ability to deliver... DO BETTER

I loved A.P.B. in the arcades and I played a couple of the Police Quest games, so The Precinct caught my attention. I had fun at first but the gameplay quickly became stale. The game isn't wacky enough to be a spiritual successor to A.P.B. and the older GTA games, and the police simulation aspects aren't detailed enough to satisfy Police Quest fans. There also isn't an interesting story to carry the game, either. It uses all the standard cop movie tropes but the characters are too generic to make them entertaining. It's supposed to be set in the 80s, but other than the forgettable synthwave soundtrack and a couple of the car designs, I didn't feel like I was experiencing the 80s. GTA: Vice City and RoboCop: Rogue City did a better job at this. I will say that the graphics are pretty nice. I liked the color palette the devs chose and the light and water reflections look good. However, it made my GPU fans kick in a lot, especially inside the police headquarters, so this game needs some optimization. The A.I. is also pretty dumb. There have been a few patches since I played the game, but I'm not sure how much they fixed it. Your partner is totally useless. I don't think I saw him successfully tackle a single perp, and one time he accidentally tased me. While that was amusing, it would be nice if he actually provided some help. Letting him process the suspect is the only thing he can do, but then you lose out on experience since you can't add extra charges and read their Miranda rights. However, losing experience doesn't seem to be a big deal. You can make a lot of mistakes and simply grind until you feel ready for the story-based mission. There seems to be no consequences to being a terrible cop. In terms of non-story missions, you can choose to patrol on foot, in a vehicle, issue parking tickets and use the helicopter to spot suspects. The vehicle and the foot missions are the only ones that are somewhat fun to play, since there is little to do in the helicopter and the terrible A.I. can sometimes take forever to get to the perp you've spotted with it. Issuing parking tickets is amusing for a little while, but it didn't take long for me to start taking dispatch requests instead. I can see the potential in this game, but unfortunately it missed the mark. Perhaps there will be new stuff added later down the line that will compel me to finish it.

The driving is a big part of the game and it is ridiculous even with a controller. Very frustrating. I gave up trying to play the game. Too bad. it looks fun and entertaining. I wish there were non-driving scenarios to choose from. Even the controls for other things like aiming when on foot etc are frustrating too.

really excellent. Has a lot of potential to be a detailed and immersive sim. Would love to see a better warrant system for searches and more actual paperwork. Maybe notating offenses in a notebook or clues. Having to check licenses for expiration dates and phony information like in Papers Please. Overall super fun though.

After only just over 3 hours of playtime, The Precinct left me with mixed feelings. The gameplay itself is fantastic, smooth mechanics and a compelling concept, but the story and objectives felt underdeveloped and rushed. I found myself losing interest quickly, especially after realizing how short the experience was going to be. If you’re going in expecting something deep and narrative-driven like L.A. Noire, temper those expectations. It’s a solid game, but not worth the full price, definitely one to grab on sale for a quick game session though.

It’s hard to put into words, but you can genuinely feel that this game was made with heart and passion, not just rushed out to meet some investor deadline. The Precinct has a special emotional touch behind it — you can tell the developers really cared, beyond just ticking boxes for gameplay mechanics. I truly hope they keep refining and improving the systems, because this game is already very good and absolutely deserves to be supported. It’s worth buying
