It's a reskin of Tavern Master, game is fun, but the loop is basically the same currently.

Enjoyable casual fun similar to Tavern Master, with cute animations and surprisingly addictive gameplay. I haven’t experienced any crashes or game-breaking bugs so far, although the game still needs some balancing in terms of economy and QOL (for example, managing the trade routes is PITA, and the production chains require too many assistants). That said, the first thing that comes to mind when looking at the progression panel is, “Wait, is this about Blacksmith Master or Manufacture King?” Because your blacksmith goes way beyond his supposed field of expertise. Bows? Wooden wares?Pottery? Jewelry? That’s what fletchers, carpenters, potters and goldsmiths do, not blacksmiths. On the other hand, one would expect a blacksmith to make some steel armor. Nope. No such luck. Maybe it’s coming, the game is still in early access after all but as of today armor is not in the game. We have a suit of armor as a piece of decor, same as in Tavern Master, but no actual armor. Overall, it’s a nice, relaxing game that would hopefully continue to improve.

I was able to 100% the game, so I must have liked it! This genre of game isn't for everyone, but for people like me it was very enjoyable. I appreciate how many improvements the devs have put in so far. They are responsive to feedback. I'm going to keep checking in each patch to see what's in store!

I really enjoy this kind of game. It's relaxing, casual, and fun building workshops and managing the store really relaxing

Played Tavern Master for a long time and had this one on the wishlist. Same graphics, very similar (but less fun) almost completely linear progression. After a certain point this just becomes an idle one button game. One button meaning to advance to the next day while your workers autonomously make the wares and stock the shop. Quite boring. It's also slightly awkward buying "benches" for your workers. You have to buy a literal bench for your workers to sit down at for when there is nothing to do or at the end of the day. It is really just weird having an entire half of one of your shop's floors just dedicated to being a really awkward "sitting" area to "house" all of the workers -- seems lazy. There's really not much to this game, even very limited on decorations (otherwise I would say it would qualify under the 'cozy' simulator/management game, which it does not). This game would benefit from: - More decorations or in-shop entertainment Explanation: tavern master had a little booth for minstrels that would have customers stay around longer. Different lighting, more paintings or ceiling accessories, etc., would help to bring the game a bit more "coziness" and not feel as 'blank'. - In-Game events Explanation: Nothing happens every day....infinitely. Would be cool to see some "royal events" where maybe an army of soldiers is asking for weapons and willing to pay top price and rare resources for completing the order. Attempts of store burglary would also be a cool feature and you could employ security guards to defend the shop. The game right now is just groundhog day -- repeat of the same day every day after about day 60. - In game wealth Explanation: There's really nothing left to "buy" towards the end. The most expensive purchases are unlocking trade route tiers then after that the grind is just...over. There is nothing to do with your millions except hold onto it and make more. I know that's a thing on other management games, and in most of the similar ones I've played...that is the "personal endgame goal". But on this game, you just get there way to quick, there's really no fail risk (you can go into debt without any penalty and be fine). Getting "end-game" doesn't leave me with any real sense of achievement or satisfaction and piling on endless wealth seems really lackluster. Overall: I loved Tavern Master and hope that Blacksmith Master becomes something a tad more intuitive, until then I would wishlist the game until further major updates come out or until this game is on sale.

Honestly its a really good game. You can leave it playing in the background or you can play as a blacksmith and make whatever blueprint you want. I haven't ran into any issues so far. Been waiting to play this game for a while and I'm not disappointed. Im excited to unlock more blueprints

It's ok... nothing really do to after a few hours... unlocking additional things is just more of the same, no challenge as you can go into debt and it makes no difference to the game, seems pointless to continue.

I had played Tavern Master too and I really liked both these games. It's really chill and enjoyable. It takes you to the Middle Ages, and makes you a real blacksmith. I want more games like these from you <3
Blacksmith Master * 3/10
While this game has cool concepts, its mid- and late-game content is essentially nonexistent.
Graphics
The graphics have a charming, old-school, or indie aesthetic that management game fans will appreciate. Though not outstanding, they're quite cute.
Gameplay
I'll break down the gameplay into different sections so you can read what interests you most.
Building and Customization
Building and customization are quite limited. You're confined to a small building with multiple floors, which severely restricts what you can create. By the late game, you'll need at least two entire floors dedicated to selling, further reducing your usable space. While picking up certain skilled characters can grant you an extra floor, the overall building system remains very restrictive. You'll find yourself with limited choices for items, customization space, and usability.
Management
Early to mid-game management is surprisingly fun and enjoyable. There's a good variety of things to juggle, and the people management aspect really shines for me. Even though it's basic. However, maintaining 100% worker efficiency feels nearly impossible. It seems like you'll always hit a bottleneck at some point. No matter how much you optimize or rearrange your base, you'll consistently encounter small, annoying issues—whether it's someone walking too far, or customers not flowing in and out quickly enough. There's always some kind of minor hurdle.
Workflow and Assignments
I really wish you could assign your people to specific tasks or zones more effectively. For instance, it's frustrating when you want a furnace used only on a particular floor, or a chest accessed only within certain levels. Instead, if someone sees an open task, they'll walk all the way across the map to do it, even if there's nothing useful for them there. It got incredibly frustrating not being able to easily customize and assign employees to specific jobs and locations. Imagine your blacksmith trekking halfway up the stairs when all their necessary materials are downstairs! Better control over assignments would drastically improve the workflow And in my personal opinion, the game would be a lot better.

Very shallow, first 5 minutes is interesting, the rest is just, meh. There's no challenge, no reason to do anything. It's more or less impossible to "lose" so there's not really much of winning.

Unsure how i feel about this one. Its not bad, but right away it starts to just feel more like an Idle game without the AFK Idle rewards. Setup up the shop, hire employees, and just let them go as you slowly unlock more stuff and complete tasks. Feels very much on rails and at least in the early game it doesn't feel like leveling up employees has any major benefit other than maybe carrying and walking speed. At one point i just have it running in the background while doing other things and forget about it until i realize it hasn't been doing anything for a while because the day ends and the game essentially stops. Unsure if later in the game its worth opening up a shop. but completing merchant orders makes way more money. i ended up just removing the store and just fulfilled orders non stop. Hoping with time and updates the game will get a little more exciting.

This game offers no challenge at all. Stardew Valley has a much better economy. I reached over half a million in just eight hours and had almost everything unlocked except for maybe eight research goals. There is absolutely no failing in this game. You can only go into debt so much, and if you choose easy merchant tasks. You're set the entire time. You can dang near automate everything in this game and it's just point and click. If mind numbing boredom is your play style, go right on ahead and get this game. No multiplayer, just a basic track single player meant for kids. I'm really glad I got this game on sale.

concept is fine but there is not really anything here more than an idle moble game. player has very little input you basiclly just watch and occasionally change the number values on a few things.

I'm absolutely loving this game. Another solo dev game is knocking it out of the park with thier concept. Currently there are two updates a month to keep the true end of the game just out of reach and with the roadmap recently posted I am excited grow into a seige workshop! All current content that I take for granted was instituted by previous updates since its release to Steam so the developer takes feedback very we;l! Very much looking forward to progressing with my shop alongside the developer!

My honest review of this game: 8 out of 10. Detailed review: Blacksmith Master has a ton of positives and not so many negatives. The UI is very simplistic and easy to navigate, the goal is streamline and concise, the management menu is very easy to understand. The progression isn't to grindy (for the working,) and end game is pretty boss.

a lot of ways to make the game versatile and quick to progress. But also there are reasons not to progress fast. Mini-game like feel to controlling the smiths during item creation is also a plus. The interface and controls are very intuitive and the gifts of walls and floors from completing orders is a great addition for customization of your shop and area.

Great game, blending unique blacksmithing with management—no competition in this niche! Thrilled to support it, even in alpha. Minigames shift from top-down camera control to hands-on crafting, which I appreciate over having none. Still, it’d be awesome if devs made them more immersive like KCD 2’s forging, less button-timed prompts.

This just consumed my life for about a week and I got every achievement. My only complaint is that the game crashes relatively often once you get far enough in the game. I wish there were more options to reduce the amount of things being rendered and make the game run smoother. But it obviously didn't bother me enough to stop me from playing 35 hours, so...

I absolutely love this game! Its very intuitive, and easy to get a good hold on. Im sitting at $11M and 837 employees, however, once you get this far the frame-rate crashes, @devs maybe an optimization patch, please?

Good follow up sequel to Tavern Master. Essentially the same game plus\minus a couple of QoL changes and the obvious pivot from peddling beer\wine\food to shelving provisions\luxury goods, if you enjoyed filling out the tech tree and the overall aesthetic there's a very comparable experience between the two. If you've never played Tavern master, this is a game where you are managing a Blacksmith shop sometime in the late medieval period. Your shop will grow from 1 floor and a single iron working team to a tower that includes all manner of mineral and lumber goods production. The goal is to build your shop into a functioning money generator as you work your way upwards through the tech tree. Once you've finished, your shop needs to stay open long enough for you research and development team to upgrade every recipe so that everything your shop produces is of the highest quality. Overall, I love these kinds of games and this one is no different. I bought it the day I found out it was out and after 127 hours of gameplay I just finished the last achievement for 100%. For people who like this type of game, 10\10, for new comers to the genre more like an 8 because of how the end game starts to taper off into a long series of the same type of gameplay without any new unlocks. For example, there's a fairly long period of gameplay between "unlock all the recipes" and "have all recipes at rare" which felt kind of boring. Anyway, like I said I really liked it. Hope you try it out!! Cheers!

It's a good game similar to its older brother - Tavern Master. Had plenty of fun building everything and even got all achievements for it. Nonetheless I do want to see some improvements regarding more quality of life in managing Employee levelling up (You can only select all of them equally or highest level or not at all, but I want to select blacksmithing, carpenting, and not design). In addition, trade routes probably need looking into - You can't prioritise which trade route you want to pick (gems are always last), and you can't exceed that fixed number of clay/gold/birch/gems in a certain day. Nonetheless, this is an early access game and I have high hopes for it :)

I'm loving this game. I very rarely leave reviews but I think this one is well worth it. I have only had the game for less than a week but am well through it because I can't put it down. I usually am playing 3-4 titles at a time but not this week! I didn't have to high of expectations for it but was pleasantly surprised. There is a lot more to it than I thought there would be. It's fast paced if you want it to be or you can take it slow which I like the option. There are plenty of different materials to work with as you unlock them and a huge selection of finished products to choose to make. Your building can be enlarged as you grow your business and even decorated with many different colors, designs and materials again as you unlock them. There is a small help/tutorial section that I would love to see increased to include more information. However, right in-game they have included a space for the player to recommend ideas for improvements, which is very handy. I am very happy with this purchase and anxious to see how this game might grow in the future.

Game isn't bad. I always cringe when i read other people right it, but i'll do it... it has potential. I would rate it a 7 out of 10. I mean it does deliver on a blacksmith. Music is 2 out of 10. replay ability 2 out of 10. suggestions for replay ability. Make a king or prince visit and give his feedback on shop. have the leaders change and change what they like. make it random like he makes fun of your purple curtains. . Have the workers have another trait on how they get along. make them fight or walk slower or some char when they don't. give them more character. ditch the pottery and jewelry. if someone wants to be a mid evil blacksmith we want savage rare axes, swords and armor. maybe instead replace them with helmets and armor. Make some weapons you forge more valueble than others when you go to sell them at shop. Add noble visits or high profile customers. give them a feedback loop on being repeat cusotmers. Make it less blacksmiths. in total you create. its cool you can have 100 people running around your shop but does take some of the specail of each one. add ability to equip them a blacksmith hammer that changes skills. Make the workers just stay at a INN next ot warehouse that you have to ugprade. the benches thing is kinda goofy.

This is a surprisingly addictive, yet chill game. It is mostly an idle game, but you do have to decide what each of your employees do, what equipment to buy, what stores where, etc. I bought this after watching a SplatterCat video on it, and I did not expect much, but it was a summer sale game... so why not. I started playing it yesterday, and I am over 20 hours into it now (not sure why this review says 16.9, when my game page says 20.9). There is not a ton of complexity, just a lot of grinding, and micro-managing, yet somehow it has me hooked.

Really fun game, very addictive gameplay loop (at least until you hit the end game), just wish it had a few more quality of life stuff, like mass-levelling and assigning workers, and a easier way to view your store's flux (what goes where and who does what)

This game is fantastic if you're looking for a relaxing system management game. Some of the easiest optimizing of all the little details of your workshop. Also feels like it has some of the most well balanced achievements, got all three of the most rare at the same time, they didn't just give them abstract numbers, if you're optimizing and upgrading as the dev's allow for everything hits right in line, which can be a big issue with later crafting achievements in some games. It may be different for others but even through the relatively grindy final goals felt like I was engaged with optimizing until the final 10'ish in game days before getting everything 100%

I love games like these. It's a great game and keeps me very occupied and engaged in it. I love the building design aspect and the management in the game. It let's you shift between different play styles on what you want to focus on when you need a little bit of a break from one or the other. The first person option is a very neat twist to help engagement but I only used it once to check it out, then I've not used it again. It has mini games in it to help you achieve the crafting goal. But it is a far less efficient use of your employee. I typically find myself occupied with the management and design parts to even care about the first person control option. It's a neat feature though, if you find you need to change it up a little bit or help kill some time while you are waiting for those orders to be filled then it can be fun! If you're into management games like this, then I recommend it.
