In the game, we return to a post-apocalyptic future in which human civilization has been destroyed by a global nuclear war, and we once again assume the role of Artyom, known from the previous installments. The heroes travel across Russia aboard the Aurora train, searching for a place free from radiation and mutants where they can start a new life. ✅The game includes two DLCs, which I highly recommend playing. I liked the two different storylines. ✅The game has two endings: good and bad, and you can play through the game in two ways: loud or silent. This has a powerful ending at the end. ✅The game is well-optimized. ✅You have to be careful who you kill, because it also affects who you shouldn't kill at the end of the game. ✅The game features a more open world than previous installments. ✅Fantastic atmosphere, whether in the underground, the wasteland, or the forest. ✅The graphics look amazing, especially the lighting, which deserves a big plus. ✅Excellent dialogue and characters. ✅Variety of weapons, which we can craft ourselves, increasingly better weapons in the later stages of the game, and find various other weapon upgrades on the map. ✅You can find various collectibles and Artyom's journal entries, which provide a lot of information about the world and characters, and most importantly, how the main character views it. ✅We can also craft first aid kits, arrows for weapons, and grenades, but we need the right materials for this. ✅Interesting and gripping plot that keeps us in suspense until the very last hours of play. The story of Artyom, who sets off on a dangerous journey beyond the metro in search of a new life, is full of twists and turns and emotions. The characters are deeply developed, and their fates evoke sympathy and interest in the player. ✅Various enemies ✅Locations are well-designed for stealth ✅The price is really good for such an excellent game ✅The sound in this game is amazing ❌Too few side missions. ❌A lot of running around, and not every location has the option to drive, which is a slight downside for me. ❌The downside to this game (and the previous installments) is that the main character unfortunately doesn't speak, but I still had a great time ❌The AI system was sometimes weak; enemies simply couldn't see us at close range, and mutants also behaved strangely. If you have any questions about my reviews, feel free to ask. I'll be happy to answer them. All reviews are my own. Best regards, King Viking Bezimienny

Reviewing (mostly) every game (or DLC) in my library, part 193: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (10/10) Metro Exodus is one of the most immersive, emotionally resonant, and quietly beautiful games I’ve ever played. It’s not just about survival—it’s about connection, memory, hope, and the cost of trying to live in a ruined world. This game hit me hard. I was totally absorbed by it, from the first step into the frozen Volga to the final cutscene on the Aurora. I think about it all the time. It’s a game about holding onto hope when everything seems lost—about choosing kindness even when it’s easier to pull the trigger. It’s also just damn fun to play. 🚂 Pros:

Gunplay that hits like a brick. Every weapon in Metro Exodus feels handmade, gritty, and powerful. There’s real heft to every shot—guns recoil heavily, reload animations are slow and deliberate, and jamming mid-fight because your gun is filthy? Panic-inducing. This isn’t flashy, cinematic combat—it’s messy and dangerous. Every shot feels like a choice. There's also a great selection, so you can mix and match as you please.
Great immersion. You don’t just open a map. You pull it out. You manually take out your map, shine your flashlight, wipe your gas mask, and charge your battery. There’s no floating HUD, just you and what’s in your hands. The act of surviving is grounded in physical motion, and it pulls you deeper into the world than most games even attempt.
Crafting and gear systems that are tactile and personal. Upgrading and maintaining your gear is never busywork. You clean your weapons to stop them from jamming. You build silencers, scopes, magazines. Everything you do—every bolt scavenged, every chemical looted—feeds back into the survival loop. Your weapons are yours because you’ve kept them alive.
Semi-open world hubs that respect your time. Each level is a semi-open space filled with secrets, side missions, and environmental storytelling. But unlike other open-world games, they aren’t bloated. Exploration feels purposeful. There’s always a reason to stray off the path. Maybe you hear someone screaming, or see a church in the distance, or stumble on an abandoned shack. It’s the kind of exploration that rewards curiosity without overwhelming you.
Dust motes, dynamic weather, and real-time day-night cycles create a living world. Watching dust float in shafts of sunlight inside a ruined train car. Rain battering your gas mask as lightning flashes. Fog rolling in across a swamp. These aren’t just pretty effects; they feel like part of the story. They create mood, tension, and wonder all at once.
The train journey format gives the game emotional momentum. You’re not just completing missions; you’re moving across the continent with people you care about. The train becomes home. Each new chapter is a new season, a new region, and a new challenge. This structure turns Metro Exodus into a real journey, one that grows and changes alongside you and your companions.
The Aurora crew feels like a real, ragtag family. They joke. They smoke. They fall in love. They get scared. You can talk to them between missions, sit beside them around the campfire, listen to guitar music, or just exist in the quiet. It’s rare for a game to give you these moments of stillness, where nothing’s happening, but everything is. These people matter, and losing even one of them hits hard.
Anna and Artyom’s relationship is deeply human. There’s no melodrama here. Just love, worry, affection, and trust. The way Anna gently teases you, the way she pushes you to open up, the way she quietly panics when you’re in danger ... it’s a believable, warm relationship that anchors the whole narrative.
Stealth is tense and satisfying. Sneaking past bandits at night with just a throwing knife and your flashlight off is pure adrenaline. You can knock enemies out, avoid detection, and even avoid killing, and the game rewards that. It’s not just about surviving. It’s about surviving your way.
Moral choices that are subtle but meaningful. There’s no morality meter. But the game remembers. Did you spare a guard who surrendered? Did you help a starving family? Did you kill everyone in a camp, or just knock them out? These decisions ripple through the story and help determine which ending you get. The game never calls attention to it, but it sees you.
Environmental storytelling done right. This game tells its story through corpses, broken radios, blood trails, empty homes, and handwritten notes. There’s almost always something worth finding—and often, it's not loot. It’s context. You slowly piece together what happened in these places, and some of those mini-stories hit harder than entire questlines in other games.
The visual design is breathtaking. From golden sunsets in the desert to eerie fog in the forest, this game constantly stuns. It’s not just good graphics, but atmosphere. You feel the cold. You feel the isolation. But you also feel the hope when you step outside and see beauty in this broken world.
The soundtrack lingers in your soul. Melancholic strings. Sparse piano. Ambient sounds that set your nerves on edge. The score knows when to break your heart and when to disappear entirely. It’s perfect.
The ending absolutely shattered me. No spoilers, but it’s one of the most honest, bittersweet, and earned conclusions I’ve seen in any game. It understands what it’s like to try, to sacrifice, and to hope. Ngl, I cried for a bit. And I’d do it again!
🧷 Cons:

Mac performance is tricky. For 23 hours, life was great. But all of a sudden, I couldn’t even get past the loading screen on Mac without manually launching the game via .exe. This workaround technically worked, but it broke Steam achievement tracking and didn’t log the rest of my playtime. I also couldn't go NG+ because of it.
Artyom’s silence is inconsistent and awkward. He narrates loading screens. He clearly has a voice. But in every conversation? He’s completely silent. It’s jarring—especially in deeply emotional moments where someone is pleading with him, crying, yelling, or laughing, and he just… stares. It creates emotional distance, and I wish he’d said just a few words now and then to bring scenes fully to life.
On launch, there were lots of bugs, but I didn't encounter anymore through my playthrough. Still, buyer beware. There is some jank with movement.
Metro Exodus is a dystopian first person shooter. This is the third game from the Metro series which makes for a good story spanning a year trying to find solace in the wilderness. The 4A team has demonstrated absolutely great workmanship with an excellent story line and judicious cutscenes which help flesh out the experience. The open world nature makes Metro Exodus one of the greatest games out there. The graphic quality of the game is clearly detailed even on UHD displays. I played this on my Dell Precision 3480 with Intel Xe Arc graphics and RTX A500 graphics.

I played for 17 hours and the game keeps crashing at the Caspian section going up to the lighthouse. This turns out to be a well known bug without a fix and the only way to get out of it is to physically shut down your PC. I can't continue past this point no matter what I try.

Like any other Metro games, it has its flaws. It embodies the term "eurojank." Sometimes your camera will break while driving a car because you decided to hold the W key after closing out of your map. The save system is frustrating and I've had my Ranger Hardcore playthrough save wiped out TWICE all because I wanted to play the DLC. Lots of grievances with qualities of life and overall jank factor of the game. That being said, this is easily the best Metro game I've ever played. The focus on open zones and characterization is unprecedented. This game has such good characters. At the end of the main story and The Two Colonels DLC, I found myself in tears. The Open Zones are fun to explore, looting every nook & cranny you can find. The game is absolutely beautiful and the environments are incredibly well thought out. There's a multitude of upgrades & encounters you can completely miss out on if you don't explore. There's also a fair share of linear zones and sequences that harbor back to classic Metro games. Making this game feel complete. I highly recommend checking out both DLCs once you're done with the story. They are just as good as the main experience, if not even better in some regards.

Great game as always. I prefer more Last Light and Metro 2033 Redux since they have the better guns and movement, but Exodus has a longer, even better story, lasts almost as these two combined. I recommend the game but it should be better than the previous two parts by a mile.

The game is broken, there's a point at which you have to travel with an NPC to get into a cave and progress the game. The NPC stops moving and will not progress. I tried running and jumping (Invisible wall makes you slide down into the ground), running, retracing steps (which is essentially barred by the devs because of invisible walls) and reloading saves. Nothing seems to help. I looked online and everyone has the same game ending issue, there used to be a fix but it seems the devs have patched out the dev console and so no clip is no longer an option either. Further more all mods to allow this are also either disabled or out of date. There is no point in buying this game if the Devs aren't going to fix such a glaring issue. I've already requested a refund but it may be too late.

A tensão é constante. Altamente recomendado!

It's clunky as hell, just doesn't feel smooth, everything is choppy and just meh. I know it's not CoD, but man, it just doesn't feel good. The environment is lackluster as well compared to the other metro games that I've played, which I really enjoyed. For whatever reason, this game feels unpolished and since the release I've come back many times and nothing has improved. If you want a good metro experience, do any of the older games, This one was a waste of money.

Metro games are one of very few i go out of my way to both 100% and play it on Ranger Hardcore:
Exodus is an amazing game. both with gripping story that made me actually care deeply for the crew of Aurora, i normally do not sit around and listen to npc banter, but in this case, most of my time was spent on the tracks listening to all manners of stories, be it Duke regaling the crew with his exploits, or the crew's uncertainty of whats ahead. But to those seeking the thrill of shootouts, brace yourselves for tragedy, as the game has a "Hidden" morality system , where actions you do matter and can lead to drastically different outcomes. I will finish this by reviewing the core of the game, which is the gameplay, my general advice is "Exploration is Key" be sure to look into every crevice of the map, as it is rewarded with weapon upgrades or suit upgrades, not to mention it sometimes leads to interesting encounters. So yeah... 10/10 i wish someday we will get a true continuation of Exodus, maybe not from the view of Artyom, but someone new.

Gameplay is much improved from last two Metro series. Very good idea on crafting salvaging weapon parts and modifying the weapons on the table or backpack. More brutal environment, and psychological horrors. Weapons are much more improved and various of weapon choices. Well written story and Spartan crews. Game engine is unstable despite run in a gaming pc and low graphics. Overall the game is a joy to play.

This game has an absolutely amazing atmosphere and tension. The transitions from sunset to night are fantastic. The completely diverse locations are also great from metro, to desert and others (dont want to spoil to much). I played through the main story almost in one go – this game really got me hooked. Recommended.

10000000/10 -------- This game impressed me. The more unreal atmosphere of the characters, the interaction with them, the moments from which are pleasant and creepy. I'll start with the gameplay, it's gorgeous, everything is thought out to the smallest detail, loading, pumping weapons, cleaning them, charging the flashlight, breaking the glass of the gas mask, everything is brought to perfection from the previous parts. The plot is multifaceted, but the mission is one, to find a place given to life on the surface, but parallel and in each chapter, do something to achieve the goal of the chapter and the overall plot. The most powerful chapter for me was Novosibirsk. From the difficulty of moving the hero from radiation, moments with hallucinations from it, and saving his wife Anna, led our hero to the end, all these moments are transmitted to the player, understanding how difficult it is to go through all this, seeing how the leadership did not have time to evacuate people and all this number of deaths is very large, the addition of two colonels revealed everything that was up to this time, the perfect showing of all this. Sam's story, also in its own interesting addition, showing that Artem's actions, not giving up, going towards his goal, inspired him to his heroic deeds in order to return to his, his native home. about the endings, the first is good, sad, but the second, which is bad, for me became simply legendary, all the deceased heroes of the old Metro 2033 showed that their train exists in this afterlife and all this for them, like eternity, which will haunt them forever. It was very unexpected to see these heroes. rating 10000000/10

Metro Exodus is a rare kind of game, the kind that dares to evolve a series without losing its soul. Where the original Metro 2033 and Last Light thrived on the tension of dark tunnels and claustrophobic survival, Exodus opens the world up without ever losing that pressure. It’s still bleak. Still dangerous. Still coated in dust and dread. But now it breathes. And what you get is one of the most emotionally rich, mechanically satisfying, and visually stunning journeys in modern gaming. The writing doesn’t shout, it trusts you to listen. The characters aboard the Aurora feel lived-in, believable, flawed. And your connection to them builds not just through dramatic story beats, but in the quiet moments: a shared smoke break, a guitar strum, a silent glance at the horizon. Combat is tense. Resources matter. Guns jam. Light and shadow are part of the gameplay, not just set dressing. And on PC, it looks incredible, one of the few games that genuinely earns the “next-gen” feel, even years after release. I love this game so much I bought it twice, once on PS5, again on Steam. And I’d do it again. Metro Exodus isn’t just one of the best shooters of the past decade. It’s one of the best stories. Period.

loved the game starting from the gameplay, the post apocalyptic atmosphere, i liked the graphics of the game, the voice and character writeing was good too. The loot, weapon customisation, backpack system was great. The story i really liked the main story and loved both the dlcs (especially the sam story). there were things that i didnt like so much was that Artyom did not had any voiceover in the game(he only had voice-over during the loading screen. Although the dlcs fixed this i really liked that. I personally faced two bugs first was the game crash bug during the desert storm and one map glitch while driving the car. Overall i loved it
