great game with good plot and pretty art. i like how the game-play reminds me of a couple of other good games like baldurs gate (with the dice), ace attorney (the investigation part), and your turn to die... or maybe i just don't play a lot of games and many have similar game-play.. i also really like how the game allows us to take our own notes on each character i'm not sure if it's intentional but we can't save during dialogue? most games i've played have this option to save your progress in between character dialogue but this one doesn't which is a bit weird. i don't really want to skip the story to go to a save point if i had to leave to do something mid-dialogue

I'm generally a fan of puzzle games and visual novels. You have many options to customise your character, from name and appearance (which is quite cleverly done), profession to character stats. You roll dice to achieve certain things (similar to Bg3) and your stats influence the result. I really like that. You can run around like in a classic detective game, questioning people and looking for clues. Personally, I think it's a very good mixture of searching for clues yourself and being guided by the game. So far, I've found all the characters I've met to be, if not always likeable, at least understandable, well developed and multi-faceted. The art style is also really beautiful. I'm on day two or so and there are always new twists and clues. So far I haven't had the feeling that it's early access and I haven't encountered any bugs. Personally, I can only recommend the game and I'm very excited to see what happens next.

On release, the game only had four save slots, and didn't have a chapter select. In a game where each chapter has different endings, and evidence and entire character interactions can be missed, that made it very difficult to replay. About one day after leaving a negative review about that, the developers responded, and an update to include both of those features was announced. At the time of writing, 25 save slots and a chapter select have been implemented. Off of that alone, I feel obligated to give a positive review, though I would've anyway considering the quality of the rest of the game. It's really nice to see that the developers are so committed to improving their game, and it's impressive that they were able to make changes so quickly. They even changed the colour of the bug report button in the menu after I mentioned having trouble finding it at first. I don't know how to express it, but that's such a nice thing to do over a problem that only one person probably had. Other than that, the game itself is very well done. Though both of the two currently playable chapters funnel you through a series of specific events, the outcomes you can achieve vary based on things that you, as the player, did or didn't do. Something I've had a problem with in other games like this is missing one little thing somewhere, and having to spend half an hour talking to every NPC again and trying to inspect everything I can a couple times over, just to be allowed to progress. Allowing players to solve mysteries or not based on how well they actually did when investigating feels strangely novel for a murder mystery game, but I wish that more of the ones that I've played were like that. To give a specific example, at the start of the game (in the first half hour or so),
the protagonist stumbles across a murder, and can make the choice to either stay and attempt to explain the situation to the police, or try to make a run for it. Actually escaping is possible, as is getting arrested - from there, it even appears that there are different ways to escape confinement.
The rest of the game features similar branches, including ones that work off of choices you made in a previous chapter. Now, with the chapter select, it's much easier to play through the story in various ways, trying new things. With such quick responses and fixes to problems and even minor issues that players have, it feels reasonable to already have a lot of faith in these developers. They've put a lot of care into their game, and I firmly believe that they'll do a great job with the rest of it.

I first saw this game when it was available as a demo, and the art style immediately stood out to me. And then I saw that the game's story was a murder mystery, and I immediately downloaded the demo to play it. What I found was an immediately intriguing story and a great premise that had me guessing what was going to happen next. As of writing this, the game is in early access, and 2 chapters have been released so far. I can't describe how engrossed I was in Chapter 1- trying to unravel the mystery, pick up as many facts as I could, and even shift suspects a few times. This was made a lot easier thanks to the notes feature. Which is, very helpful and fun to see how my thoughts changed on certain characters after learning new information. By the time I reached the end of the chapter, I thought I had a good handle on everything. And then the next chapter started. This game only has two chapters out, and I loved every second of those chapters. The dice mechanic is fun and not too punishing. The music matches the mood of every scene perfectly. The story is intriguing and it's equally as fun to try and determine who you can trust as you slowly befriend the townsfolk. The third chapter isn't out yet at the time that I write this, but I cannot wait for it to release. This game is a great time!

I got sent to jail immediately, would recommend! But really- this game was everything I was hoping it was going to be and more so far! The characters are interesting and compelling, the story and mysteries are exciting even without the time loop element, and then the time loop element has me wanting to see what happens even more!! Oh, and the character sheet/dice rolling mechanic is fun too! You get a lot of choices in this game which is leading me to start a second game already. If you love murder mysteries, nancy drew games, or visual novels, you'll love Kill the Clock. I can't wait for chapters 3 and 4!!! Update: on my second playthrough, I decided to try the combat and it's so much fun!!

Enjoying the game so far! Love the art and the premise is pretty cool with the time loop. I don't know if its within the budget or a consideration but some full voice acting may be nice! Even if not every line can be, maybe some more reaction sound effects than just a scream. Overall, I recommend for people that like visual novels and I'll definitely be looking forward to the game's launch.

Please allow gift-giving before plotlines! I had prepared goodies for specific characters but kept getting whisked away by the story before I could give them away!
