- Bought the game - Built rocket - Rocket is success, but the pod blew up on contact with the ground - Launch mission to the North Pole with all my Kerbals in it. - Plane engines blow up on arrival. - Kerbals are stranded there. - I sent 10 planes to help them, but each and every one blew up or ran out of fuel. - After 7+ hours of sending rescue mission to help them, FINALLY one of the planes make it to them and rescue a survivor of one of the failed rescue missions on the way there. -Complete the main rescue mission and pick up all of the Kerbans. -There are still 2 other Kerbans out there in the Tundra because I'm too lazy to rescue them. 10/10 game, would kill 11 Kerbans whilst on a rescue mission again.

I'm leaving a positive review because I feel like I owe it to Jeb for all the times I killed him in the pursuit of figuring out the mechanics of the game.

Make unsafe rocket. Launch it with untrained green aliens. Go to Mun orbit. Forget to make a lander. Green aliens are now trapped in Mun orbit for 200 years. Launch ScatCraft IV to rescue. Fail miserably.

This is the greatest game I will never play. My son was 12 when it came out & he was immediately entranced, putting thousands of hours into the game. It became so much a part of his life, that when it came time for him to become a camp counselor at Camp Sealth outside of Seattle, he chose to be known as "Kerbal" (the counselors weren't allowed to use their own names around the kids). At the age of 20, my son was last on Steam 681 days ago - August 16, 2023. Ten days later he would be killed in a freak car accident while away at college, and I miss him every day. But this game gave him so much joy, so much excitement that I will always be in debt to the developers. Thank you. Thank you all for your support: I didn't think anyone would still be looking at the reviews for this game - I just want to show my appreciation to the dev team. Unfortunately, this is not a fake review: Sage Phoenix Corlett Waters (2/3/03-8/26/23) aka xxPapaStalinxx on steam, last online 680something days ago. I miss him every second of the day

🚀 “The most fun I’ve ever had failing spectacularly.” Kerbal Space Program is more than just a game — it’s a crash course in rocket science, orbital mechanics, and what happens when ambition meets a poor staging plan. It’s hilarious, humbling, and incredibly rewarding.

As close as it gets to a real space program simulator. I would treat it more as as sim than as a game, preparing to spend a lot of time (more than playing!) reading books on orbital mechanics and rocket science. It's rough around the edges, but in 2025 it still remains the best way to get into the game.

One of its kind space exploration game with intriguing physics providing limitless possibilities. You can explore the whole solar system and visit planets or moons or have plenty of fun without even leaving the atmosphere.

This game… it’s just too good for the price, I don’t really know why people buy KSP2, maybe just because of the graphics lol But anyways KSP has good physics, beatiful looking engines, and a whole solar system that absolutely nothing can go wrong, that’s my review, if my English is bad, sorry I’m Brazilian. Cya!

Screw Intercept Games and Star Theory. To all the devs who worked hard on the second game, you guys are awesome and it sucks things ended up like they did. You deserve more than what was given to you. I'm so glad I waited before buying the KSP 2 cause... damm. The first game will remain the best spaceflight physics sandbox ever in my mind, and modders are keeping it fresh and up to date. If you are new to the community and are looking at buying this game would still highly recommend. Be aware though, it's not a causal game. You'll need to learn orbital mechanics to go places. But the game makes that way easier than college physics does so don't freak out 0_o

Only Simulation game I've ever played that makes me feel like I'm actually learning about the thing I'm playing. Like I'm learning rocket science and astrophysics in the pursuit of gittin gud at KSP. It's a really cool game. I've been to Kerbin's (in game version of earth) two moons , landed with astronauts too, which was a massive achievement but I've barely even scratched the surface of this game. And when I eventually do finish everything, there's countless mods out there to try. If you're reading this thinking of getting the game, just do it! I've stopped playing everything else since I got this on the steam summer sale! I would even reccomend at full price, it's amazing. Avoid the sequel though, it's an abandoned early access game with a lot of contraversy.

I let tourists fall from space at 1000s of metres per second, then open parachutes and hit them with ~15 Gs of deceleration. This is intended in the game.

whilst most of my hours are on CKAN with mods, i still think the vanilla game itself is really good. You get to make rockets and, personally my favorite part, planes and jets. You also get to kill jebediah an infinite amount of times so thats also a point. graphics are still alright even to this day, optimisation is good enough to where a pregnancy test could probably run it, gameplay is fun, and the community mods are just beautiful. anyway solid 8/10 game.

very fun game overall if you find spacecraft of space travel interesting, it is quite complicated and the physics are sometimes off. Very fun building crazy rockets and planes and having them final work is rewarding. The game does a good job simulating space travel and as such is very educational.

Its quite good in terms of physics with low end computers, actually better at handling low end computers than ROUNDS, or Stick Fight. just dont change your settings right away with a low end computer. oh, and planes will fold in 30 billion pieces if you go too fast and try to pitch up or down

I honestly just bought this for the Steam Summer Deep sale. And I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this game if you are into the frontier of mankind like space. My experience has been epic so far - Launched a not so stable rocket and tried to get to the moon 10 times. Built second generation rocket, launched into orbit, escaped orbit to the moon, landed on moon and then realized I do not have enough fuel left to get back. Send 2 more rockets to rescue the astronaut and they too run out of fuel. Thinking of just shipping items one way to moon now. Truly an epic game with a lot of opportunity. Hopefully a great studio takes over and helps the community because THIS IS LEARNING GAMIFIED and so much fun.

If youre a space nerd and youve never played this game... who am I kidding, every space nerd Ive ever met has played this game. I still cant believe Ive put almost 500 hours into this mfker. The realistic rocketry and physics make the game really unforgiving, but still so interesting. I really never was a space nerd, but this game scratches an itch that I never knew I had. When you pull of an extremely precise maneuver in the vastness of space, like synching the orbit of three satellites around a body, it's so satisfying. I personally have a lot of fun trying to get my dumb ass contraptions to orbit, like a giant "NO VACANCY" sign for my space station. When you set up an elaborate mission, carefully planning all the parts, all the action groups, the right orbital position, the right time of day, the right thrust, the right pitch... and it all comes together JUST so Jeb can hit a golf ball on the fucking moon??? Such a silly, nerdy and fantastic game. There's oceans, but no fishing... so 1/10

around 300+ hours missing from CKAN i think on my old desktop, but i HEAVILY recommend this game. this game is definitely a huge contributor as to why i am studying majoring in engineering now. whether you like engineering (me!!), space (me too!!!), physics (me three!!!!!!!), sending your kerbals straight into the sun, or blowing up kerbals out of pure satisfaction like a psychopath, there is definitely something to do 4 every1. also fun as heck to challenge urself with missions. there's a ton of mods available which significantly expands what you can do in KSP, ranging from visuals to extra parts and career progression improvements. (I recommend using CKAN to manage/get mods!!) yea, some might find the game to be dated, which is true, but this game still holds such a charm to me and is always fun to replay (trust me, I have been playing since 2018), so honestly, get it, or even better, get it while it's on sale!! DLC is optional tbh. trust me, this game won't disappoint ya. :D

it's just kinda wow, silly fun with kerbins being all minion like or maybe better minions being a lot like kerbins hmmmmmmmm, jebidiah if ya die we got approximately infinite more of you bro. I think my review is dumb, this game, rather simulator, has been out and running for quite some time now. it balances actual physics and challenges of space exploration pretty solidly with the silliness of launching kerbins to potential death. idk, If you enjoy space stuff, this game is for you, especially with all of the mods that have come forth over the years. talking auto docking space station contruction and something. yarrrrrr

The rockets are fun, planes are broken and I will never speck into them ever again. very fun space game but if you want to fly a plane get a different game because the physics just don't work at all in favor of planes.
