Rating: 75/100
As a One Piece fan, I really enjoyed this one. The atmosphere, music, and open-world setting made me feel like a Straw Hat, stepping onto a new island in search of adventure. Luffy's combat feels good - switching between Haki types is smooth and the skill tree works well. Exploring was genuinely fun at first. Fighting the original characters (Admirals, Crocodile, Germa 66) hyped me. Story-wise, it's your typical One Piece side island arc - nothing groundbreaking. Boss fights are good, and Isaac(Main villain) has a cool design and backstory.
What I didn't like:
This game basically copy-pasted Assassin's Creed's homework. Same mission structure, same repetitive side quests that make you want to pull your hair out. Karma system sounds cool on paper but it's just more busy work that barely rewards you. Exploration starts fun but after 10 hours? You're just mindlessly grabbing chests. Some areas look amazing while others look like they spent maybe 5 minutes on them. The final fight was underwhelming as hell. And don't get me started on the padding - some chapters literally make you run back and forth just to stretch playtime. Game only gets fun once you unlock all the skills. Early game is boring... sadly. If they'd given us half those abilities from the start, I would've had way more fun.
Bottom line:
One Piece fans should play it. It gave me that adventure feel I wanted. Finished the main story and now I'm on the Zoro DLC - they censored the map for him which cracked me up. Lore accurate! They actually put the same effort into DLC characters as they did with Luffy, even gave them extra skill trees. You can still tell this game had a tight budget though, which affected the overall experience. Hope we get a proper AAA One Piece game someday because there's SO much wasted potential here. Still loved it!

Absolute garbage game Combat: Worst combat I've ever had to play with and it could've simply been fix with a lock on feature. Makes it even harder to fight when half the enemies in the game fly around or teleport to random spots every 2 seconds. There technically is a "lock on" feature but it just turns your camera to the enemy, it doesn't actually follow them. In most missions there's this small circle you have to stay in on the map when fighting enemies and if you happen to go out of the circle the mission fails. This means any enemy you happen to knock out of the circle has to come back to the circle, you can not go out of it to finish them off and must wait for them to come back if you don't want to fail the mission and if you so happen to use a drill attack you better hope there's a wall stopping you from going out of the circle. World: It's an open world game. That's really all I can say nothing interesting about it although putting snipers that have 100% accuracy in a city where you would want to swing around the most is stupid. Story: It's alright nothing special. Takes place before the Wano arc but since it's not canon you pretty much just treat it like one of the movies or a filler arc. Most characters in the series show up but they don't really do much story wise. There's also sub missions but I did not find one remotely fun or interesting. Movement: Movement is fine when in air but otherwise trying to do stuff on ground is terrible. Trying to move a tiny bit just has your character run like 5 feet making it hard when you're just trying to reposition yourself to open a chest, talk to an npc, or when trying to take down an NPC. "Stealth" - The stealth in this game is garbage. There's missions that want you going around taking out enemies or following an npc without being noticed but this makes it hard when the movement is already bad and enemies can somehow detect you from very far or from behind walls. DLC: Story for DLCs take place in the middle of the Main story but you follow the other DLC characters on what they're doing and how it connects to the main story. Somehow the combat is even worse and ultimate attacks don't even work half the time. If you want to 100% the DLC for skill points you have to replay the same missions like 10 times. You have to do this with the main story too but you only gotta play the last 4 chapters like 3 times but due to how short the DLC stories are you have to complete the same 2-4 chapters each time until you have enough to unlock everything and a lot of the skills are literally useless. Zoro's DLC was decent but Sabo's DLC was the most boring DLC they could do for an actual interesting character. Sabo's has 6 chapters with 5 of the chapters you can get through within in 2 minutes. Law's was kinda fun but due to how the game is built it doesn't really take full advantage of what Law can really do. For some reason everything you collected in the main story doesn't transfer which is weird considering it's the same exact map and meaning you have to reopen every chest you found in the main game. This doesn't really matter but it's funny that it's impossible for some of the DLC characters to get access to a lot of the chest. Bugs/Glitches: surprisingly don't think I ran into a single bug or glitch. Game would randomly keep pausing though and the only way to stop it would to just press the windows key but I got no idea if that was just me problem or not. Overall not worth

Game performance and options are terrible. Can't even unlock FPS or go over 60 FPS and the game has still lag spikes even when it should be running with no problem The controls of the game are also pretty bad and the combat and traversal is pretty bad too... Even if you like One piece don't waste your time If you LOVE one piece then maybe you can give it a try, maybe the One piece theme alone is enough for you to enjoy this game that clearly never left the Alpha state

i was turned off by the controls when the game first came out. seems like they need alot of tweaking to make the game play well. overall very enjoyable game once the key bindings are figured out.

For $60 I'd say its kinda in the middle, the game was worth $60 but if you play it consistently for around a week you'll already be finished with the game lol 4/5

[COTAINS SPOILERS] Absolutely peak game, i have to say this game gets to much hate and is extremely underrated, making an open world one piece game that's not turn based like odyssey was actually an amazing idea, even though this game can have annoying combat sometimes, it has an amazing story line, and its completely original, it even has gear 4 and its actually tuff. i also love the graphics because they look cartoonish which compliments the gameplay perfectly, i think gear 4 was made absolutely perfect, i do wish it had more moves though. The movement was peak, somepeople think its weird but thats because their weird and don't know what realistic movement is like. hitting a gum gum rocket and flying away felt great. tbh this was absolutely worth the money (which is wasn't that much anyways compared to games now) for how exhilarating it is.
