thank God I bought this at 90% OFF because paying the whole price of $14 for this game is funny. Here's the list of what you'll experience when you play this game: 1. Movement mechanics is clunky, there are object model issues where your character should've walked through it but for some dumb reason cannot. Your character cannot melee attack during walking/running, if you attack, your character will need to stay still, which is annoying when you're trying to hunt animals, realistically we can move both our hands and feet at the same time right? we should be able to smack someone while chasing them. 2. THERE IS NO JUMP MOVEMENT AT ALL in this game, small obstacles or just a bit of inclined terrain will get you killed at some points. 3. You will freeze to death many times here but for some stupid reason any food that is prone to spoilage will spoil if it's in your inventory/storage chest, its like your inventory has built in heater to spoil the food instead of it getting frozen as well and preventing it from rotting. Hey Dev! Your game takes place in a never ending winter, food spoiling should be the least of the player's worry here. 4. In playing multiplayer, the host of the saved file must be online and playing so the other players can join as well, if the host is not playing, you can't join in the world ya'll are playing at on your own, if the host for whatever reason exits his game, all the other players will get kicked out. The host must be playing as well if you want to play and make progress in your multiplayer world, which is dumb. I am the host of our multiplayer world but thinking about it from the opposite perspective, it must be annoying when you want to grind but cannot because you need the host to invite you and play with you lol. 5. Taming wolves/deer has bugs, you'll encounter stuff like the wolf will still bite you and will lose its "tamed status", JUST RIGHT AFTER TAMING IT lol. 6. Fruits and vegetables spoils just as quickly as meat, which is again idiotic, it's a frozen world, fruits and vegetables have way longer shelf life even in tropical places. Even chocolate bars spoils quickly in this winter game. This game is trying to showcase some degree of survival realism in winter but tries to make it hard in nonsensical way, the premise of this game is winter, you're trying not freeze to death, but the foods feel like they are in the beach summer and spoils rapidly. 7. When you die at any point in the map you'll keep what you're wearing but drop everything in your inventory, and will respawn only at "Main Base" regardless of where you put your shelter at, in fact your shelter and crafting house will return to you when you restart to the "Main Base". While all the storage chests and stuffs inside it that you built alongside your previous base location will be left there. You cannot set a customized spawn point in this game at the current patch. 8. All the chests, furnaces, bonfires, and signs you put in the world will stay there forever, the game does not have dismantle/remove/move functions yet for those buildings at the current patch. I thought this game was new at first, but I was surprised when I searched about this game in yt, most videos were from 6-8 years ago. No wonder this has very little audience, maybe because of the things I mentioned above which made players quit because they didn't enjoyed playing. I love open world adventure survival crafting/building games, and I admit this game has a good premise and fun idea behind it but regrettably failed to execute it successfully.

I bought this in a 90% off deal, but it is definitely not worth the money. Start is just pain and end is too easy. Feels unfinished. Considering this game was funded by $50k on kickstarter and now sells for $30 is mad. On top of that the game has been abandoned by the devs, as it seems. Ending is just purely unfinished. I've tried to follow the storyline, but the plot and the ending itself is so bad. Until the very last second you have no idea what the whole thing has been about and then BAM, end.
The bunker you get is absolutely useless. You can't build there, you can't do anything other than farm veggies in there. The quest with the fella that got locked inside the arcade... I mean I hope it was worth the $1k.. You need to farm absurd amount of animals to get to bow or you have to be very lucky on the item drops. Once you level up your character, it becomes crazy easy to farm anything, because all you need to farm are animals. I spent over 4 hours just hunting (and even that sucks, because you can't catch rabbits or deer. So you have to resort to hunting wolves or pigs). Then just easily upgrade your workbench and congrats, now you can farm thousands of wood/ore per run, craft yourself steel gear and from that point on, you're pretty much invincible if you don't just stand in combat. The progression is just not thought of properly. The end kinda lets you explore a bit in a general direction, but it is quite frustrating, because at that point you either wanna continue with the story OR you wanna find special resources to upgrade your workbench. I didn't find those extra resources. At least not enough of them to do a single upgrade. The inventory management is bad as well. While you get a bunch of extra slots of stuff to carry around in your shelter and workbench, you actually never know in advance what are you going to need. So you carry food, heals and whatever you find inside buildings just fills the rest of your inventory. Then when it's time to pull out something you've been saving in your wb/shelter, you can't put them down. And the ending is just weird. There's so much mystery about the project that caused the mutants to be there and then it's just bam bro, it's a teleport. I guess there might be multiple endings, because the UI in the end room was showing some resources I could recognize, so maybe you could stabilize the teleporter or whatever, but again, at that point I just wanted to be done with it and even tho I probably had ALL the resources with me, THEY WERE IN THE WB AND I COULDN'T PLACE IT DOWN. And in the end, I just died. Floating in limbo. Then the game ended. I didn't even get to see some rooms in the bunker, I didn't get to go back, I didn't get to explore more. There was a warning, but my dear.
The Wild Eight is a 3rd person survival game set in the Alaskan cold winter wilderness. You have to maintain health, hunger, and cold bars as you try to find a way to escape this wasteland. You find gear, gather supplies, and upgrade skills and items to help aid in your adventure. That's the core of the game. As a big fan of survival games from Grounded to Green Hell, lets list some pros and cons of the game. Pros -Abundant supplies; scavenging the map very easily gives you access to materials needed to upgrade or gear readily available to use. -Easy farming; unlike some games which require legitimate time set aside to farm for wood and coal, this game relieves that burden by making it very easy to gather enough resources in short amount of time. -Useful Level up system; very easy and useful leveling up system that doesn't feel grindy to obtain better stats and traits -Fast Travel Mechanic; Thankfully has a fast travel mechanic that becomes better as you explore -Map/ Places of Interest; some may like this and others may not but I like the map system. Basically its a grid set up where once you enter a unknown grid, it reveals the whole grid. This allows slow progression of revealing the map but not in a too nikpicky way. Also enjoy that basically anything worth visiting is shown on the map, so there isn't an secret or hidden things you may miss since the map will just flat out show you it. Some will like this as this saves time and other's won't as it makes it less fun to search for exciting things. -Easy 100% achievement completion; my 2nd game to get 100% completion so there's that if you're an achievement hunter Cons -Easily can be a very short game; you can easily complete this game in like 15-20 hours which isn't the best for a survival-crafting game. Which of course for some people would be too short -Lack of variety; kinda going with the previous point, lack of variety of what you can do besides explore and do quests. For example Grounded can let you customize a base and have collectables around the map. Green Hell gives you the same options and allows you to find a lot of hidden secrets around the map. The Wild Eight is more straight-forward without having any fun side things to do. - Late Game is boring; early game is fun as you get to level up and upgrade fast but once you have everything upgrade (which doesn't take super long at all), it suddenly becomes a little more grindy without any fun to counter it. - No real reason to replay; I finished this game after 100% the achievements and after that I have no real need to replay it. Fun the first time and that's all I need from it. Side note there's a few quality of life improvements I wish they would implement but I just know it won't occur. - Remove Quest Markers on Map; after completing a quest I really wish they would remove the markers on the map but they just stay there the whole time which is kinda annoying - Be able to move/ remove chests- Once you place a chest down, you can't remove it EVER. Very weird and annoying. Final Notes - Not a bad game at all, just be aware it will most likely be a one and done kind of game. I played this solo and still had great fun so maybe as a group it could be even better. But still worth playing, I spent 69 hours (hehe nice) on it and I had a blast.

This game is a bad implementation of minecraft meets The forest. All in an ISOmetric perspective that you can rotate 90 degrees each time ala The Sims 1. You have to roam in an very large map in order to pick up stuff to even survive a day. And then avoid crazy wolves and mutants.. Very repetitive and clunky mechanics... I just play it because I want to know how bad can it get (trust me, they can do worse).

This game is extremely jank. The beginning of the game is fun enough, but after a while a lot of issues pile up against it. The combat is very buggy, sometimes double clicking or refusing to click, ranged attacks targeting appears somewhat random and unpredictable making hitting anything moving nigh impossible. The final boss fight is extremely buggy and poorly designed. The story is very confusing and poorly structured or explained. I beat the game with one friend in one run lasting 8.5 hours and we were just happy it was over. The last 3 hours or so sucked. There are alot of poor design decisions like interactions sometimes being click, sometimes F, sometimes E and sometimes Spacebar - seemingly at random. The ability to domesticate deer and wolves completely bugged out and did not work. I felt I barely got my moneys worth buying it at 90% off for $2.50, I would not recommend anyone pay full price for this game, ever.
