Starts off with lots of momentum that unfortunately dwindles during the half way mark since the cases just don't hold up. The puzzles are not overly complex and some are fun and there is a good variety so it keeps it interesting. Overall its a fun experience if you like the Sherlock universe but its hard to recommend if your not already a fan.

+ Authentic Detective Feeling One of the game’s strongest aspects is how it truly makes the player feel like a detective. Collecting evidence, connecting clues, interrogating suspects, and reaching the correct conclusion are all designed in a deeply satisfying way. The possibility of solving cases in multiple ways — and even reaching the wrong verdict — gives players the freedom to think for themselves. This turns the game into an experience that isn’t just “played” but actively “thought through.” + Atmosphere and Graphics The gloomy, foggy vibe of the London streets is captured brilliantly. The environment design, character models, and especially the use of lighting and shadows all contribute to the immersive atmosphere. The game engine has been improved compared to previous titles, and cinematic transitions add more depth to the storytelling. + Character Development and Dramatic Structure This time, Sherlock’s more human side is brought into the spotlight. His relationship with Katelyn shows that he’s not just a genius, but also a complex individual with emotions. This dramatic layer adds unexpected warmth and depth to the story. + Mini-Games and Gameplay Variety You’re not just gathering clues — you’ll also engage in various mini-games, tailing missions, stealth sequences, and even occasional action scenes. This balances the game’s pacing and keeps it from becoming repetitive.

I have mixed feelings about this one. You can have fun with it and it's quite long with its 5 cases. But: It's boring, the story really isn't that great, the riddles are either too hard or too easy and the graphics ain't holding up for the price. So only buy if you really love Holmes and ethical questions, though there is always only one right answer (and in the first case it's impossible to know it). It's okay - just don't buy it.

The first Sherlock was a real detective/investigation game. This one wants to be both investigation and Call Of Duty at the same time, with nonsense action moments that you can't skip ( like Sherlock being chased in the forest ). If I wanted to play an action game , I would have bought an action game.

Good cases, good puzzles (not too easy or difficult), good game.

SUPER-NICE!!! STORY: The Devil’s Daughter puts players once again in the shoes of the legendary detective Sherlock Holmes, this time in a tale that’s more personal and emotionally charged than ever before. While each case stands on its own, the game gradually reveals a deeper, interconnected thread that ties Holmes’ professional life to personal revelations, particularly involving a mysterious girl and unsettling truths from his past. The narrative is layered, with five distinct cases that each feel unique in setting, tone, and stakes. From eerie disappearances to supernatural overtones and family secrets, the game offers a broad emotional palette rarely seen in detective adventures. The overarching story might be more cinematic and dramatic than in previous titles, but it never loses its investigative heart. COMMENT: What truly elevates The Devil’s Daughter is the sheer variety of puzzles and gameplay mechanics. Each case introduces new styles of deduction, observation, and exploration, keeping things fresh and preventing the experience from feeling repetitive. Whether you’re reconstructing crime scenes, following suspects through crowded alleys, deciphering clues in arcane manuscripts, or engaging in disguise work, the game constantly reinvents how you interact with its world. The mix of classic deduction with action-oriented segments (like stealth or timed chases) might not please every purist, but it does make the experience feel more alive and unpredictable. Another standout feature is the characterization. Holmes feels more layered, still brilliant and blunt, but more human and emotionally vulnerable. His interactions with Watson, the child Katelyn, and a wide cast of morally grey NPCs add real weight to the choices you make, some of which have surprisingly emotional payoffs. Visually, the game takes a leap forward from its predecessor (Crimes and Punishments), offering richer environments and smoother character animations. The London streets feel alive, and each case has a distinct visual mood. SUMMARY: A sharp, stylish, and surprisingly heartfelt mystery game with top-tier puzzle design! - Graphic: 83% - Audio: 86% - Story: 92% - Game Play: 88% - Longevity: 76% - Replayability: 59%
OVERALL: 81%

Literally SOOOOOO much better than Crimes & Punishment. This game did not crash even ONCE for me (except at the very very end when the credits rolled, but that is just my pc being my pc), the voice actors (the same ones from Chapter One and The Awakened!) made me feel so much more at home in the story, and there IS AN OVERARCHING STORY! THE CASES ARE INTERESTING! THE MINIGAMES ARE INTERESTING AND VARIED! AND NONE OF THEM MADE ME WANT TO THROW MYSELF OFF OF A CLIFF! (looking very very pointedly at the bridge minigame in Crimes & Punishment). Sure, it goes quite off the Sherlock Canon but they make it work. 9/10, would have gotten 10/10 if i could punch Orson Wilde in the face.
