A decent Lovecraftian detective game
Nothing to crazy to say about this game : I enjoyed the theme, the various places our characters visit but it does feel overall unpolished (I imagine this is due to the war going in Ukraine). This was my first Sherlock Holmes game from Frogwares and I had a hard time understanding how to examine scenes. It is not the easiesy to understand that you need to pin the proper clue etc. I found myself needing the use of an external guide during the first real investigation at the end of chapter one. Once I understood that mechanic, the game became alot more enjoyable. Score : 7/10 A decent pick for fans of Cthulhu.

Great Sherlock mystery within the cthulhu mythos. Can be easily completed in under 10 hours, which I think is a good length for this kind of game.

The game still has the same mechanics as the previous games, and TBH, the same outdated graphics and animations... I'm hesitant to keep playing, as it is a real pain to play and appart from the story, the rest is just so frustrating. The character is very stiff and slow, as weel as the camera movements. The gameplay is atrocious and unintitive: despite having a map, it is a real maze andyou can easily get lost. You can't speed up or skip small talk dialogs, you have to go through every single pinned clue when asking NPC...etc... As a game from a decade ago, it could have been great, but come on, it's been released in 2023! Thanksfully I got the game on sale for less than 10 € so I don't feel so bad. But just don't pay 35 € for it!!

i think the only real 'critcism' i have of the game is that it is a bit short ; ; i loved the investigation mechanics and would play a game entirely of solving different cases if tht just made it longer w

A fun game, easy to get all the achievements in just one playthrough but encourages replays to unlock bonus costumes and artwork/items. As this is my first Sherlock Holmes game I have nothing to compare it to. Nevertheless I have enjoyed this game, Holmes and Watson's dialogue were entertaining though I wish the facial animations were a bit more expressive, the stiffness does not match the otherwise emotional performance at times, but it's a minor nitpick. The different mechanics can be challenging to grasp in the beginning, but I think by the second chapter you'll already have a firm grasp of them. Though there is a lack of side content in the base game, the most you can get is a short side quest during the 7th chapter. It's a great time, and I can see myself replaying this again to unlock the remaining bonuses, but I wouldn't recommend this as your first Sherlock Holmes game as it is a sequel, but then again this story is self contained, so it's up to you.

Not too long but also not too short. Sometimes it is a little unclear how to play the game, but once you spend some time playing, you get used to it.

This is the second Sherlock game I play (the other one was Crimes and Punishments), and gotta say...man it's not good. It's not bad, mind you, but just not my cup of tea. The whole Lovecraftian mythos they sell you is...pretty much non-existent. I feel they lost the way by trying to make it all a big case spanning the whole game. The game has 8 chapters, by the second one you get a tiny glimpse of what could be an amazing investigation regarding kidnappings and the cult, but nope, that's it, they barely scratch the surface by showing you a couple of things regarding Cthulhu and some "cosmic" crazy things every now and then that have a sort of toll on Holmes (he gets a bit crazy) but it doesn't go any further than that. Because of this I was completely disengaged for the most part of the game. And I don't really feel like writing more about the boring experience I had, a shame tho It could have been something really great.

I've enjoyed Frogwares games in the past, so I was willing to give this one a try. Despite the janky engine, which even with every graphical setting turned all the way up looks like a game from 2012, I had a good time. The cases were fun to solve without assistance and the story does a good job of spreading the dread that awaits. I hope our Ukrainian friends find the peace and independence they deserve after years of brutal war.

The gameplay is very non-intuitive. Lighting up clues and things to do feels much more like a vision test than useful hints. The tutorial (or lack there of) could be much clearer and explanatory. I cannot complete chapter 1 because certain clues simply will not show up for him. Even reading a walkthrough and watching a let's play don't show players doing anything differently than what I did. Closing and reopening the game did not help with the bugs. The game is simply not functional. Another complaint I have is that Sherlock Holmes in this series doesn't look like the Sherlock Holmes from the books. Where are the crooked hooked nose and other iconic features?

The game and story so far deserved some better graphics developer and designer with some AAA experience, not a bunch of highg school kids doing a science project :(

🔍 Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened A return to the darker side of Sherlock
A story-rich continuation of the Sherlock Holmes series - perfect for those familiar with previous titles. A narrative-driven journey filled with tension, madness, and a touch of the occult.
🟢 PROS: • 🌆 Beautifully crafted environments - fewer, but very atmospheric. • 📖 Engaging plot with madness, occultism, and inner conflict. • 🇺🇦 Respect to the devs for finishing this during wartime - truly commendable. 🔴 CONS & WISHES: • ⏳ Noticeably shorter gameplay than previous entries. • 🔒 Linear world design despite initial open-world expectations. • 🕵️ Not enough deep detective work - more logic, evidence, and real crime needed, less mysticism. 💡 FUTURE IDEAS: • 🧩 Move away from occultism - focus on mental health, relationships, and classic mysteries. • 👤 Develop characters: Dr. Watson, Irene Adler, Mycroft, Mrs. Hudson, and Delvin (from part one). Even as DLC, make it rich in story. • 🔪 A Jack the Ripper plot in UE5 London sounds incredible. But please, don’t link him to nationality — instead, craft a strong narrative.( This person is currently known in real life. Forensics found out using a DNA test ) • 🧪 Add scenes with Sherlock & Watson exploring modern forensics: – Ballistics – Fingerprinting – Handwriting analysis – Identification techniques – Graphology 🎯 FINAL THOUGHTS: 🕯️ Strong atmosphere, solid pacing, and immersive storytelling - but the game could use more branching, depth, and true detective complexity. 🎁 Post-launch DLC or side quests included in the base game would be appreciated. 🏆 Also, thank you for not locking achievements behind paid content - that’s rare and respected.

A nice 10 hour game with an interesting lovecraftian story that isn't in-your-face scary at all, but provides good ambience and environments. The puzzles are intuitive, if not fairly easy, after getting used to all the UI icons/what needed to be done.

From my experience, I can say: * It took me a while to get used to the Mind Palace system, specially the order in which questions should be answered, since they don't appear left to right on screen (my bad, maybe; I don't remember if past games where also like that). * The lenses puzzle near the end got a bit frustrating and "I didn't feel it". * The plot is deeply engaging and nicely tangled, though that’s expected given its roots in Lovecraftian lore. Overall, I relate to this game more from a fungal trip perspective than a straight-up Cthulhu cult angle. It’s philosophically rich, surreal at times, and emotionally heavy. I do recommend it, just don’t expect the usual tone of previous Sherlock games.

This is a really interesting and well written crossover, while the game is fairly short it's a fun ride. Mostly linear with some side quests in a few main areas, game play is pretty limited to investigating, no combat besides a few quick time events. It is a big departure from the first game, Sherlock Holmes Chapter One, but still a great story, and seeing as it was developed during the war in Ukraine, I'd say it's a huge accomplishment this game was published at all. Frogwares really delivered on what I had hoped for for a Sherlock and Cthulhu cross over, I only wish it was a longer game. I know it's a bit far fetched and ill fitting of the character, but I'd love to see Sherlock and Watson take on more of the paranormal.
