The game has interesting backstory and good graphics, though there are quite a lot of visual glitches especially with skeletal animations, which is either funny or uncanny valley. There are some problems with climbing as the hitboxes seem quite off from the visuals, especially early on. My main problem with this game are the characters: Every single one of them is an emotional bitch made of glass waiting to fall and break. It is quite infuriating seeing that every character that is supposed to be an astronaut lvl genius is just a glass full of emotions and they tiptoe around each other not to break. It screams of what kind of writer is behind this game and while I do not say that they are a bad writer, I say they are completly not made for this kind of writing. They should be writing romance, not sci-fi, because they do not understand how very smart people think/behave.

Not as good as the first game (Deliver us the Moon), but stands on its own to make for a compelling story, albeit one that's weakened by some flaws. If you're looking for a fun way to kill 6 hours, this game is definitely worth it. First, the good stuff: the game's story, characters, and dialogue are well-written. The gameplay is actually fun, but don't come in expecting Nathan Drake or Lara Croft. It's a more humble affair with some light puzzling and (thankfully) no combat. The not-so-good stuff is what the studio tried to expand on from the first game. The character models and textures are just not there. They look grotesque and out of place. The animation work is solid, but it can't save the dead-eyes you get from the cast. It really takes you out of it, especially when an ungodly amount of time is spent in cutscenes. Ironically, the studio's trademark "marionette" hologram cutscenes are the most compelling, because they let the dialogue and writing come through without distraction. Overall, I enjoyed it and had a good time. I am a bit peeved that Rolph (the protagonist of the first game) only got a portrait and not much more acknowledgment in the story - I think it would have benefited to connect the dots a bit more.

the plot: dumb, such a mix of overused tropes and bad writing that i honestly wanted everyone dead and gone. the design: terrible terrible uncanny valley faces, awful attempts at hair that were just a crime against the characters. some good landscape design, but the levels were very basic and lacked purpose other than elongating your traversal time to make the game worth the original price. character animations were also very bad and lacked even a smidge of polish the gameplay: the climbing mechanic felt like i was being punished for playing this game. again something created to make the game longer, not more immersive or enjoyable in the slightest. honorable mention to whoever programmed the ASEs to block the 3rd person camera 80% of the time to make the game unplayable. overall: this was a sad attempt for a great series to try and become a triple A contender. the first game was incredible and the studio was so creative in the execution and how were were immersed in the story. this just seemed like a badly recycled and regurgitated plot surrounding badly written characters and the most simplistic story moonlighting as some kind of epic. i finished the game because i was past the 2 hours and needed to get my moneys worth. but frankly i shouldve just taken the loss and not wasted my time. this was an utter dissappointment on almost every front.

This is a great game. Great story, voice acting, and animations. With the cliffhanger ending I cant wait for the next game. This I do not really like is that is can be a little hard to know where to go next (i just spent 15min running on the mars surface trying to figure out where to go. The hair also bothered me as well as the facial expressions. I was hoping Issac would die but he didnt.

There's a lot to love about Deliver Us Mars. A great story, unique game play, and a lack of open world nonsense. The only thing not to like? Performance. You'll often find points where the video stalls and you just have to take your hands off the controls and wait for it load. Sometimes the audio loops too. But it eventually clears up. In another genre or different places this would be game endingly bad, but I've found it generally occurs during environment transitions and never during anything where you'll die or experience gameplay issues. Also had it crash a few times on me when all settings were set to Epic, but turning them down to High fixed that.

I'ts better in every way from deliver us the moon. I started this morning, and played it trough in 1 sitting. It reminds me of Dr who, more than American sci fi in the sense that its messier but pulls on the heartstrings a lot more. The story is good and kept me going, loved the 3rd act, don't look anything up just play it. The faces are a bit messy and old looking and i was not too fond of the climbing. But well worth it in solving the mystery. I'd say buy it, support indie games, its a labour of love. Ik hou van je, je bent sterker dan je denkt.

Engaging game play and well written story. Some wonky game mechanics related to climbing but overall no deal breaking issues.

I tried on several different occasions to enjoy this game, but I just can't. The first game was an atomspheric masterpiece. But this one is a clunky, awkward slog. Disappointing.

If you played Deliver Us The Moon, you will be sorely disappointed. Gameplay in Deliver Us Mars doesnt have the same sense of urgency compared to Deliver Us The Moon. Graphics is terrible, cutscenes are too long and characters look terrible.

Wow, what a story! The graphics were great, ray tracing could benefit from some optimisation though. My system is no slouch (10900k, 64gb, rtx4070) and at points I was reduced to SPF rather than FPS. In the end I disabled all ray tracing though dropping to 1440 or 1080p could possibly have saved it. Either way, I loved my time with this game, highly recommended if you're a sucker for a damn good story like myself.
