Abzu is a relaxing dive, balancing the lack of gameplay diversity with its beautiful design. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3506720411 https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3506353984

Abzu is a very calming game. The exploration is great, and the visuals are stunning. I really enjoyed it! My only complaint is the length. It felt very short.

Love the game. I wish there was more of a way to tell either not I'm going the right way. Kind of all over the place. I don't even know what level I'm on or even if there are levels. Lol Going from one "dimension" back to ours was pretty cool. I thought it was going to be more sharks going after you inviting you. But it's chill and you could just pick it up whenever. I wish there was more clear to find levels and ways you can go

It was just okay. Maybe it just wasn't my thing but it was just a bit boring. A lot of the same thing. If super chilled out games is your thing you'll like this, but not for me :)

You can't change game volume. How can an almost 9 year old game not have such a basic feature?

One of the best relaxing game for sure. The music, ambience, sfx is so good. The graphic? Even if its polygon, its definitely still beautiful, enough to captivate you relax gamers. A nice and simple story without any voice overs, its an art work thats open for interpretation. No glitches, its a clean game overall. 100% the game takes time though, but its nothing hard The only cons is the camera left-right senstivity, to me sometimes its kinda slow, and there is no settings to change it. There is also no audio settings, but it doesnt bother me as the ambience is really good

Heya everyone, this game is just incredible. If you love the ocean and are in search of something like Subnautica where you travel a vast ocean, see and play with all the creatures that are in the sea, Then this is for you. You like a linear story that has a conclusion, simple mechanics, is relaxing to the point that it is meditative, a very goosebumping orchestral soundtrack and enjoy environmental story telling without using a single word. Then this game is for you. If you are searching for breath taking realistic graphics. You wont find it here. The cell shading graphics and the colour palette is gorgeous. Conclusio: Its short, meditative a blast to play there is no game that hardly scratches the itch for a mediative underwater game.... also there are friggin Nautilae in the game!!!!

A simple, calm, blue world to swim through. Smooth graphics, soft music. Played it with my niece — quiet, beautiful fun.

I recommend this game for someone who is looking for something that doesn't use alot of brain power. it's pretty straight forward, though if you dont use a controller to play get ready to struggle since keyboard controls are shaky at best so i highly rec a controller. Wait for it to go on sale before buying, it goes n sale often and for the content i wouldnt label this game worthy of $20 when you could buy something that takes more than a few hours to 100%. overall, its cute but clearly made to show off the art rather than to focus on actual gameplay

Firstly, everyone at Giant Squid and Publisher 505 Games...thank you all for giving us this wonderful piece of art. I feel as though I am in the a giant canvas in motion when playing this utter work. When going on land for the first time to then going to the dark depths of the ocean to find ancient species. Truly, I cannot thank you all enough for this composition.

Abzu is a relaxing and beautiful game that takes you on an adventure to the depths of the sea and explores many types of reefs and sunken cities. This game has no combat; just exploring the depths and finding many types of sea creatures. This game is all about the vibes and has a beautiful art style. If you enjoy games that take you on a ride, check out this game.

A very beautiful, enjoyable game. Graphics really do hold up for being as old as it is and if you like undersea life, have an interest in marine biology, or just like artistic more 'experience' based games, you'll probably like this. It's meant to be relaxing and atmospheric; there is no oxygen meter. I will say, as somebody who played Journey first, this game was less impactful because of that. I won't say it's not as good as Journey; I think it holds up and stands out on its own, but it definitely has similar vibes and noticeably borrowed concepts and level set pieces/ideas. It is fairly short and easy to 100 percent, so the price tag might come across as high to some. Still, I think it's worth a try.

i found myself sighing a lot, i get it, we're swimming with lots of fish looking around and it's all magical and stuff - but the scenes where you are not swimming actually are too long imo. maybe it's just not my thing.

I was blown away by the fluid animation, stylized marine life, and use of color and light. It’s not just a game — it’s an underwater meditation. There’s no combat, no pressure — just exploration, beauty, and a soundtrack that carries you through a dreamlike ocean. It’s SHORT, but UNFORGETTABLE.

You feed well my autism, the game is beautiful, a real masterclass. A little pity for the design of blue whales. But, many different species and unknown by amateur. This game is a dream come true, with water, fish and the passion to play. A wonderful universe where you can simply swim through your favorite species. Btw, the music fit perfectly with the atmosphere. Thank you, it was amazing and I am absolutely not disappointed.

I can definitely see why this game earned some awards, the art direction is amazing, stunning, awe-inspiring. And a soundtrack to match that is a feast for the ears too. Swimming through beautiful and colorful underwater worlds in this game is such a smooth relaxing experience, you can totally lose yourself in it for a few hours. People with Thalassophobia *might* get a little queasy, but having absolutely no danger in it might help as a starting point for exposure therapy, certainly a much more inviting world than Subnautica from that perspective ;-) It is a pretty short experience but all of it is great, total completion is about 3-4 hours, maybe just a little longer if you search all collectibles yourself. It is worth full price? Eh, maybe, depends on what is important to you in a game. I certainly had a blast and would buy it full price just to support the dev studio, they did a really great job. From technical standpoint I have nothing negative to say, it is using Unreal Engine 4 (when it was still a good engine *cough cough*). Rock solid performance with max settings @ 1440p with 144 FPS. If your PC isn't a complete potato you'll be able to enjoy this game! Full recommend!

This is a beautiful game with a beautiful soundtrack, and, importantly, real musicians. Admittedly, the game doesn't have particularly exciting gameplay, but the sense of exploration and the fascinating (and sometimes breathtaking) scenery made it worthwhile. This game is a work of art.

I don't normally write reviews, but this game was SO amazing. The graphics, the interactions with fish of all kinds. If you're a fan of the ocean and fish, this game would be perfect for you! You basically revive the ocean and unlock different runes to release ocean animals. The Great White Shark is very friendly and you follow him. Eventually you form a close bond by saving it. It's like an interactive movie where you can swim with fish like orcas, manatees, all kinds of different fish. Even the corals are interactive! It's also kind of educational. They can say what kind of fish there is when you "mediate".. You go from river like water, to coral reef, to the deepest depths of the ocean. It is NOT scary. It's very peaceful and calming. I am very ill from a chronic illness we're trying to figure out what it is and this game really helped me decompress and relax. I can't play a ton of games because I just don't feel well. I want to sit back, relax, and enjoy peaceful music. This was the perfect game. I highly recommend.

One of the best soundtracks i have ever listened. What a masterpiece. Deserves every penny just for that. Pure symphonic and orchestral high level compositions. The game itself is beauiful and pacific, and the controls allows you to move fluenfly underwater and to dance around the fauna. A joy to play

This is not really a game but an absolutely breathtaking adventure. Adventure doesn't always need to include battle. Adventure is finding out about and discovering the unknown (could be a personal adventure or mankind adventure). Kudos and lovely game! If you like great soundtracks, breath taking scenes, and moments that spark emotion and inspiration, play this title! Also, please don't count my recorded time played on here. I played this on another platform, as well.

A Serene and Beautiful Journey Beneath the Waves 🌊 ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ | 🕹️ Great on Steam Deck! ABZÛ is a peaceful and visually stunning experience. At first, I wasn’t quite sure what the objective was, but once I let go and simply went with the flow, the mystery slowly unfolded. The world pulled me in with its gorgeous underwater visuals and immersive soundtrack. One of the highlights was interacting with the marine life and meditating on the statues. Watching the natural behaviors of the sea creatures, the subtle circle of life, and the quiet beauty of it all was incredibly calming. As the story progressed, the discovery of a lost civilization added just the right amount of intrigue. The pacing, puzzles, and game length were perfect, any longer and it might have overstayed its welcome. Overall, this is a must-play if you're looking for something relaxing, artistic, and thought-provoking. Solid 4 out of 5 and great game on the Steam Deck if you have one.

It was incredible, and, for an animal lover like me, and absolutely heartwrenching experience, for good and bad. The graphics were not bad, even adding to the charm, and every creature I met i wondered aboout. Learned a lot about marine animals, and the plot kept you going, and on your toes. Or, you could relax vwith your little robot and chill with the dolphins. A plus!

This game impresses you right away with absolutely majestic and captivating underwater nature and ancient ruins reclaimed by the ocean. I also like how these ruins can later be seen in this studio's next game The Pathless, sort of building this narrative line running through both games.

Beautiful little game, but very short and simple. I recommend getting it on sale. Expect no dialogue or instruction. It's very similar to games like Sky: Children of the Light. If you like games for visual appeal, this could be for you. But don't expect much of a challenge. The choral music and graphics make it worthwhile for a short time commitment. Completed in 2hrs.

Swimming with the magnificent blue whales was such a breathtaking experience in this game! They're such beautiful creatures. I'm not gonna lie, I got a bit teary eyed because the ocean can be so beautiful and docile but yet can also be dark and dangerous. It was such a relaxing game to play and the sounds and visuals were incredible. There is a story to it, without any actual story telling but only going forward through the different chapters and knowing exactly what is going on.
ABZÛ – 100% Completion Review
Playtime: 4 hours – All achievements earned Recommended ABZÛ is less a game, more a guided dive through a living painting. It asks nothing of you but presence — no combat, no fail states — just movement, curiosity, and reflection. You explore vibrant underwater ecosystems, uncover ancient ruins, and awaken life across the ocean floor. Every moment is art-directed to perfection. Kelp forests sway with the current, shoals part around you, and deeper zones feel eerie in the best way. There is a story here, told entirely through visuals and music. It’s abstract, but emotionally resonant — especially in the final act. If you liked Journey or Flower, this is right up your alley. Gameplay is light. You swim, meditate, and interact with marine life. There’s no challenge, but finding every hidden shell and unlocking the full fish bestiary was genuinely rewarding from a completionist perspective. The soundtrack by Austin Wintory is outstanding. It doesn’t just accompany the visuals — it elevates them. Without it, ABZÛ would be beautiful. With it, it becomes unforgettable.
Short, serene, and soul-soothing — a perfect break between heavier games. If you value atmosphere over mechanics, ABZÛ is well worth your time.
