Everything in the game feels intentional and purposeful. Resource and production chains, even when they are complicated, make sense. Jobs are logically assigned and carried out. Needs from villagers make sense. If you're into simulations that actually simulate real life, you'll find it here. The graphics aren't mind-blowing (this is a one-person studio in a country at war, after all), but animations are entertaining, it renders really well even as your city and your geographic footprint expands, and the balance of textures and tones adds to the semi-cozy vibe. Updates are frequent, the creator is a regular and vocal presence in the community, and I have a high degree of confidence that whatever his eventual roadmap is, Ostriv will reach those goals. I was a Kickstarter supporter of Banished many years ago, and Ostriv is what Banished could have been if it had a theme to tie it together and ten more years worth of engaging technical progressions. It's worthy of your time, and the dev is worthy of our support. Slava Ukrayini!

There is so much potential for this game! I have been loving what the devs have put out so far and cant wait for more. If you like colony sims, especially the historical ones like I do, this is absolutley a game you want to get your hands on. I am really excited to see where the devs take this and I think opening up a modding feature would be a great step for more content. More advanced buildings, more customization and more maps are all things I suggest as well. :)

great game to chill out and watch a youtube video too. complex enough to keep me engaged, but chill enough to where if I get up to go to the bathroom with the game running everything's still good. It's a slower paced gamed (with pause, 2x & 3x speed) and I really enjoy that most decorations don't cost anything so I can use that time to make the place pretty. I dream of more decorations in the future. 9/10
