If you love the zombie genre, you'll love this game.
I thought it would be a good time to review this now since Rocketcat Games' Space Dingus was announced, which I very much look forward to playing because of how great this game was.
DRtC is a action roguelite where you have to take a car with 4 people to the great border of Canada. During that trip you will come across events, weirdos, interesting maps and the likes. You also have to take care of resource management in order to increase your chance for survival. Each run is extremely fun, being unique every time and there's lot of customizability. The pixel graphics are very fitting with the arcade theme going on here and everything else too nails the walking dead-esque aesthetic. You can also play with friends locally.
My only negative was that there isn't more common content for you to scrounge through by the time you're trying to come across the few rare ones while getting the hag's inn again and again. However, the next game seems to be taking all the negatives into account alongside getting workshop support. There have already been many attempts to mod this game, but it didn't get off the ground for the lack of support. If this game would've had workshop, it would've fixed that gap in lack of more content. I can see Space Dingus easily being the next Rimworld/DD. Also no online co-op, that was kind of a bummer.
I don't give ratings, but I'll say I've had a lot of fun playing this game and will likely boot it up in the future again. The custom characters alone have been bringing me back time and time again, being able to make all kind of weirdos and just ask "what if they were in a zombie apocalypse?" and acting that out.
