If I had a nickel for every time I ignored the love interests in a dating sim to win friendship with a cat, I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's delightful that it's happened twice.

Great concept, the worldbuilding is so intriguing and I appreciate the non-binary and polyamory friendly elements. But it plays like it's half finished. The literal coverboy for the game, has a no win storyline where the character never grows past his intimacy issues (even though there feel like there are so many hints that there was supposed to be more to his story and the vampire lore in general?). He breaks up with you no matter what and then still shows up to events and acts like a friend. The rep...leaves something to be desired. The only Enby characters are a college student that acts like an actual child (one of your dates is teaching them to cook grilled cheese), and a witch who is so out there that it isn't even comedic, they just come off as a complete weirdo. Which is too bad because their fashion is rad and a scythe weapon in a dungeon crawl is always cool. The combat is clunky too. I've played through about twice on easymode and still have never defeated the final monster. Dodging is on a slight delay after pressing the button, and Zines have the worst aiming of any game I've played. Zines are also supposed to be your Ace card, so powerful you only get 3 uses at a time, but they don't do a ton of damage or crowd control effectively. I am so close to loving the heck out of this game. It could have been the kind of thing that I play over and over, and scoured for secrets. Especially with something like a TTRPG spin off (which is rushed, and rife with typos). But in it's current state? the game feels half baked. Worth waiting for them to finish if that were going to happen. But in it's current state, I'd wait for a sale or give it a pass altogether. It needs a solid 3-5yrs expansion and polish, that the developers at this point don't show any signs of giving it. which is a real bummer.

Sooo I picked this game up and 100%ed it in just over 10 hrs, but I was moving quite fast because I really, really like the game (sounds strange, wouldn't I want to take my time and savor it then, but maybe I'll just replay it later :P) This game felt like it was built in a lab to appeal to me: -The characters are so fun! And different from each other! They're all so charming and even ones I wasn't sure about, I still loved the arc of eventually. I do just wish we got more time to breathe in the storyline (and got to spend more time with each of them). This especially became an issue when it became really easy to grind affection and I would just be blowing through like 5 dates at a time. -Nice, simple weapon progression. I like my complex, heavily skill driven dungeon crawlers and roguelites, but it's nice to just sit down and get decently satisfying combat. I didn't blow through everything in one go (though I'm sure a careful player could), but I also never got stuck. Loved that there wasn't like any grinding. -Clean art and music (animations especially gorgeous and personal). Not much to say about this, it's artistically consistent! -It felt like something my friends and I would want to make in a really good way. Like I saw the zines and the bubble tea as part of the combat mechanics and was frothing at the mouth. These small, but really cute, flavor choices just really sold the game to me. Did not love grinding that flutterbug minigame but it's gone and out of my life now. Overall, the game has its rough edges, but I don't love it any less. I would take a lot more of this any day of the week!

It's a fun visual novel/RPG and while I won't spoil the ending, if you enjoy fun but fast combat games, you'll probably enjoy this too. The game isn't very long, I'd recommend even with DLC that it's great for when you're on the bus, train or flying for long periods, it can help scratch a gaming itch you may have during long journeys. Also works pretty well on older hardware + linux once Proton is enabled, so if you're looking for games to fill your 'gaming laptop' you got for 50 quid on Ebay and you don't have a SSD , I can definitely recommend this, it's fun, looks great and it'll play great too.

Very fun game! I love being able to explore the world on my time and do things when I want to. I also really like the companion system; being able to level up weapons as you further relationships. Additionally, I love how the game doesn't force you into relationships with the weapons, that way if you don't like the person or the fighting style of the weapon, you don't have to level/go out with them.

This game is like a dating sim meets dungeon crawl! Super fun, you wield people turned weapons (think like the anime soul eater) and you fight and gain abilities the further you progress in the dungeons and dating. I wish there were more women in the game (I know it's called boyfriend dungeon) but they have a couple of great options. I also wish you could be more friends with other weapons if you don't necessarily want to date but use the weapon. All in all, I love this game so much!

a goofy, charming, short dating sim. the gimmick is fun. the dungeons get a bit bland though.

I waited for this to go on sale and I would say it's definitely worth the 8.50 i spent. I had a super fun time with the combat and I don't usually play dungeon bullet hell like games. The romance was endearing and there was a good cast to choose from. The weapon types were fun to experiment with and the story of Verona beach was engaging. I accidently speed ran that game and I could've taken longer to complete it but I was having so much fun grinding out dates with the cast.

Overall, a very enjoyable dating simulator. For anyone who would prefer to not be dating, it provides a friend option too. I like that the roguelite and dating simulator mechanics contribute towards a common narrative. It's nice to switch between the two. I kind of have fallen into the trap of trying to max out all weapon relationships in one go. I do not recommend that approach: the conversations get a bit tedious after a while. Your character also ends up with 20 jobs which is unrealistic in this climate. Please, do pay attention to trigger warnings. I was not massively affected by anything mentioned but I see how many players would be.

Really really good! It takes an approach to storytelling I think is very grounded and realistic while also being fun! I love swords and I love men, so...

Equal parts hack-and-slash and dating sim with a colorful cast of characters who all happen to be able to transform into weapons. You also don't have to strictly-speaking 'date' any of them, although I find myself picking the romantic dialogue options more often than not because the platonic options all feel very standoffish, and I kinda feel like an asshole for choosing not to become romantically involved with the cast.
