I've been a player of SimCity since it came out and this has all the best elements of the series, and so much more! I've completely moved over. Thanks!

Steam deck badge of shame. This has the green badge, and yet again it's just plain wrong. The controls for this game are simply not setup for the steam deck. Devs are pleased to take your money, but can't be bothered to follow through on steam deck compatibility. This is a trend for the steam deck. Really disappointed in the blatant lies. To be verified, ALL game mechanics should be functional, and buttons should be identified visually in the menus and interface. It does NOT meet this requirement.

Very neat little city builder! I'm especially in love with how the buildings (especially the houses) "evolve" based on what you place in the neighborhood. For example, you may start with simple wooden huts, which will grow into village houses once there's enough of them, then if you place some parks, a market area/store and a bar nearby they will grow into lovely wealthy village houses. But then if you build a school nearby, the village houses around it will turn into suburbs! But what if you build a nice dock near the river and then start placing housing tiles along the shore, close to the docks? They will become fisherman houses! And if you start placing housing near your iron mine, you will see a bunch of miner houses pop up. But what if you want to have some nice villas in your city? Just place some housing tiles some distance away from your residental areas and plant some parks nearby, and you'll see some homes for the wealthy pop up! And so on and so forth - you will actually see various areas of your city develop its own personality based on what's going on in the neighbourhood, and that's something really cool to me - in other city builder games you'd have to be a bit creative to go "I want some houses for the farmers there, and a industrial suburb for my factory workers, a fishing village there, and over there will be some nice seaside houses close to my tourism area", but in Urbek various city blocks will develop their own character on their own depending on what you build nearby. It did give me a sense of wonder that I think has been lacking in the citybuilding genre for a while. I also enjoy the economy side of the game - rather than using money or something, you're instead producing various resources - wood, iron, energy, food, labour etc and making sure that you're producing enough to satisfy the rapidly growing demand of your city. Simple, but effective. Recommend!

Its like the Anno series - light. Without the logistics of moving resources around. I might like it more because of it. Wish it had multiplayer.
