Random map generator has been removed from game. If you have had this game in the past, it is no longer the same game. Wish I was warned before I purchased.

A classic game but do not buy this version of the game. This is just the base Heroes of Might and Magic 3. It does not include either of the expansions. Go to GoG and buy the version from there which is Heroes of Might and Magic 3 Complete. From there, you can download mods to get HD graphics as well as gain access to some fan-created expansions for the game as well.

No random map generator, no expansions. Just get the GoG version instead. It's much, MUCH better.

One of those classic PC strategy games from the past with some technical upgrades to support higher resolutions of modern PCs. Of course you should buy it, considering the original content appears unedited. The newer Heroes of Might & Magic games lack the aesthetic appeal of this game, the great soundtrack, etc. The art style and soundtracks are much better in Heroes of Might & Magic 2 and Heroes of Might & Magic 3, and the series is widely recognized to have gone downhill fast after those two games. The only downside is it crashes a LOT. Thankfully it has autosave.. lol.

This is a game from my childhood that I have always remembered fondly. Now as an adult and finding it to play here on Steam was super exciting. This is the game that introduced me to turn based/conqueror/explorer type games. The graphics are a bit outdated, but that is the only drawback in my opinion. This game is still top notch. I was very pleased to be able to share it to my husband and children and watch as they enjoyed it. Being able for us all to play against/with each other is fantastic! Being able to drown in the nostalgia this game provides is super amazing. I love this game and have for over 20 years. 110% recommend if you like older style turn based games. You wont be disappointed!

An old but fun game. The graphics hold up ok, and the gameplay is enjoyable.

One of the best turn-based games every created. I bought the game way back in the days so the steam hours do not reflect the total time I spent playing this game (which is easily above 1000 hours). If you are into turn-based games and haven't played this, I do recommend it (despite its age). It's a classic and it will always remain a staple of turn-based strategy as far as I am concerned.

Been playing this version almost since it came out: I never got Armageddon's Blade and Shadow of Death when I was younger, though I bought the GOG version with both of these expansion packs. While some of the mechanics of the expansion packs felt missed in this base game (particularly the artifact combinations and the five spare artifact slots), the graphical improvements of this version are noticeable, and the campaigns of this version feel more strategic and... immersive, maybe? I feel some of the campaigns of the expansion packs really test your technical ability of the game, at the loss of some "realism", that still exists within this version. I might just be a noob though. Overall, for those wanting to experience the nostalgia of this game with upgraded graphics and no modding hassle, this is a perfect pick to dip your toes back into. If you're interested in the vibrant multiplayer scene, which relies on the fan made Horns of the Abyss expansion pack, look elsewhere, probably to GOG.

I used to play this game when I was a child, and now that I've started playing it again, it still brings back that nostalgic feeling. It's a perfect game

"Heroes of Might and Magic III: HD Edition – Chess, But Everyone’s Armed and on a Horse" Ah, Heroes III. The game where diplomacy means sending an army of dragons to politely burn down someone’s castle. And now, it's in HD—so you can clearly see the fear in your enemy's pixels as you approach with 38 Archangels and zero remorse. You pick a hero. You build a town. You collect every shiny object on the map like a medieval raccoon on steroids. Then you realize you’ve forgotten to upgrade your castle walls and get obliterated by a necromancer riding a skeleton horse with 70 liches behind him casually throwing skull bombs. The HD Edition doesn’t mess with perfection. It just makes everything prettier while still refusing to balance the game. Because Tower players must suffer and Dungeon mains are chaos incarnate. Highlights include: Every turn starting with “just five more minutes” and ending four hours later in shame. The AI heroes somehow knowing exactly where your weakest town is and showing up uninvited like fantasy debt collectors. Gold running out immediately after you build the marketplace instead of something useful. Losing because your friend got the "Town Portal" spell on week 2 and is now teleporting around the map like Gandalf on meth. Creatures you’ll love to hate: Gremlins: weak, annoying, somehow still essential. Skeletons: They never stop multiplying. It's a bony plague. Arch Devils: No retaliation. All red. All rage. Behemoths: Just angry bears with skin issues. And of course, the soundtrack still slaps so hard it should be illegal in 14 kingdoms. Every battle theme sounds like you’re about to duel your childhood rival with honor, even though you just attacked a neutral stack of halberdiers for EXP. The game is old. The graphics are updated. The suffering is eternal. 10/10. Would hoard resources for a week just to build a Capitol and then immediately get attacked by 900 skeletons again.
