Victoria II

Amazing game, simple, unadulterated, political shenanigans everything you'd want in a historical grand strategy game.

very god game, with extense mechanics who keep being intresting to this date, especially in the world of RTS game. Pretty much one of the best games of paradox out there, especially if you are into the history of economics and social changes of the 19th century. None the less its still have his problems, maybe is my opinion but i would like more spice in the vanilla, i feel so restringed with the infamy system, i get is trying to recreate this entanglement with the big powers that was happening at that time, but come on paradox is still a game, let me do a full conquest of europe plis.

...my computer is too weak to micromanage an economy for a 100 years in vic 3 so instead I play this game and watch as the 14 crisis over Greece and the Ottomans over Thessaloniki (It's 1857)

Would reccomend as your first paradox game. Although it seems overwhelming at first, in just 3 days of playing started to understand mechanics and correct army compostions. Would reccomend to get you in the genre

it is indeed a good game, way better than hoi4 (cuz of the dlcs). you can have much fun even without the dlcs, but having them makes the experience even better (i dont have). Sadly they are a little expensive for a game that dont receive updates anymore. a solid 8/9

love the game i cant find anything else like it. im not interested in the 3rd one seems lame. but this one please paradox re-release this game with an update for windows 11 i try playing it with windows 7 option and it wants to crash. i play vanilla so no mods. but please have it updated.

Good game but Eu4 is better. Vicky 2 just has too limited a time span and not much to do with even the great powers beyond being op prussia op great britain etc. CK2, Eu4, took the ideas of this game and improved upon them significantly.

Last great game made by Paradox. Everything else is either ok (eu iv), good (ck2), and terrible/insulting (vic3)

A good game, don't get me wrong. But unless you've got a super low-end PC, almost any other PDX game blows it out of the water. And EU5 looks set to obsolete V2 completely

Victoria 2 is the kind of game where it said you can go any pathway you want but unless you follow a very specific guide you 9 times out of 10 going to be defeated by everyone else, by that point you might as make it into a story driven game. I don't understand why people find this game so enjoyable even ranking it higher than heart of iron 4, when by comparison Heart of iron is a more polished and is a much more enjoyable experience.
