This is an interesting game. Once you understand the mechanics the battles are fun. My first attempt I wasn't paying enough attention in the tutorial and missed a few things and didn't like the game because of it. My second try at the game I didn't miss the mechanics and am having a lot of fun with it now. Great soundtrack.

It is a good game for sometime, but eventually it became really easy and repetative. It has nice estetics and music. But it also has unfriendly interface, rudimentary exploring and very basic and unpredictable text encounters. Fights are allright for some time, but they are slugish at first and later you becoming too overpowered and it makes them easy and there is lack of variety to it. If you like estetics and don`t mind repetitivness you should deninetly try this one out. But try to finish this game faster before it begins to bore you out.

It pains me to vote no, because there are many things to love about this game. The atmosphere is incredible; great soundtrack and sound design; solid graphics. If you love 40k, this game absolutely nails the vibe. Unfortunately, the gameplay itself is just mediocre. It's pretty damn fun for a few missions while you learn the mechanics; but then you keep grinding through the same missions for hours on end. Mission and enemy variety is disappointing, and your tactics never really get any more advanced. My other major complaint is that the animations are just so slow. Watching a Necron Warrior menacingly approach before raising his gauss rifle to blast you is great... the first few times. The 100th time, not so much. And every animation, both squad and enemy, is just as slow. For about the last 5 hours of gampley, I found myself asking "Is this actually fun?". And when the answer is "No", I just stopped playing.

The beginning few hours were horrible and it is quite possibly my fault for not understanding the game well enough. After a few tries you start to click with the game play and being more strategic with your moves, making the game much more enjoyable. I would not recommend this game for someone who is not into 40K but if you are even mildly interested you will have fun. I wish the game had animated cut scenes as a lot of the game looks and feels like it was made for cell phones

10/10 soundtrack, the ost is what got me into the game. Otherwise, the gameplay can feel repetitive if you're not into these types of games. Lots of customisation, weapons and augments to choose from. Solid game, 9/10.

Really wanted to like this game but I just can't get into it. Either I'm just that bad or something isn't clicking for me. The tombs always wake up way to fast. I low roll on every attack shot. In the short amount of time I played, the game failed to leave an impression on me that made me wanna push through the early game bs. Yeah I'm aware that probably after mission 100 you finally start doing damage and winning but dude I don't have the fucking patience or time for that. Its a well designed game and they did a good job on it but I can't get into it.

At first i was having a hard time playing the game cause its not ur generic turn based tactic game. every move/action/attack/skills that you make need this little action point called Cognition (CP) and you collect it within the battlefield and also there are enemies that is racing you first to the cp statue then collect it. but as i have continued to play the game and unlocked some skills/upgrades it makes the gameplay so good and not really hard compared when i first started in the early game. so if you are having a hard time playing the game its okay cause its only for a few levels after that you will enjoy it as much as i do.

I feel like the balancing needs to be done better, but overall I feel like this game is very fun!

Soundtrack is 10/10 techno/orchestral. No, really, it's that good. Gameplay is pretty good. There's a lot of fun character upgrades/builds, and the dialog is enjoyable. Overall it's fun, but the longer the game goes on the looser the balancing gets. You're better off either finishing the game with as little side content as possible, or raising the difficulty regularly throughout the campaign. The difficulty is customizable though, which is neat (mostly to people who've already beaten the game however...). I think most people will enjoy the game for ~50% of it's runtime then either move on to something else, or drag along until the ending. At which point they'll fell comfortable cranking the difficulty up now that they know what's expected of them. I'd give it a B+, definitely a gem with a couple glaring flaws that need polishing out.

The campain is very well thought out. I think it has a lot of replayability. I just wish they didn't include so much prayer stuff in the interactive aspect of the game but at least its avoidable.

The music alone is worth the price. Really enjoyed the dialogue and imagery. Combat was fun and very challenging to nail down with the technology tree progressing as it does. I'd recommend it to anyone. Extremely culty feel with cool baddies.

This is a fresh and easy to digest game, even if you are new to this type of gameplay, for it was an amazing experience that got me interested into the Warhammer 40k lore. I wish there was more difficulty settings for the challenge other than the permadeath and increased battles in every mission, but game is very entertaining and relaxing.

Finally got around to finishing this after 5 odd years. Overall, enjoyable for the amount I played. This game is brimming with character. The score is phenomenal, the intro cutscene is sublime and a lot of care has been taken by the devs to stay true to the source material. There are also many nice nods to the wider setting throughout the game. The atmosphere in my opinion is on point too. I'm a big fan of the twist on the usual turn based tactics formula with the inclusion of cognition - i.e. a character can do as many actions as they want as long as they have cognition points and skills / weapons available to use. Things can get quite nutty quite quickly which leads me into the difficulty. This game on the normal setting which I think I played on (I started the save years ago so have forgotten) is an absolute doddle past the first 5 - 10 hours. The power of the Techpriests and the auxiliary troops far outshines that of the Necrons to the point where everything largely becomes a stomp. Hell, I mowed down the final boss within two turns after he talked such a big game before the battle. Fights just ended up being very anti climactic as a result. If i were to play the game again I'd definitely crank the difficulty up and I'd recommend going with hard as a first playthrough too. Would recommend and definitely looking forward to Mechanicus II when it releases.

I don't really wanna play this anymore, so I can't recommend it either. It's a turn-based squad game, sort of like X-com, but with some rather special mechanics. You need these action points to do most actions during combat, and you have to do various things to gain those (which consist mostly of standing in range of these obelisks). It's different from anything I have seen before, but I can't say that I care for it. You start with 2 squaddies and you can get more as you progress, but the fillers are these generic soldiers with no special abilities. Due to this the game just comes off as a lot less tactical than say X-Com, where all your squaddies have several abilities, that depend on their class. In this game your squaddies also have different classes with different abilities. The majority of your pieces are just the generic soldiers. I should also note that the difficulty seems to be quite high, for those where that matters. I'm a pretty bit fan of Warhammer 40k, but I am still going to move on. The soundtrack however is terrific.

I have finished the game and all the subquests I could find in about 46 hours. I had quite a lot of fun although there are some negative points (especially lack of quality of life aspects in the interface that I think should be standard in a game that came out in the last decade) Pro - Humorous dialogues and details, the writing is succinct but perfectly shows the dark grim humour of the 40k universe and the Admech lore. - First third of the campaign is challenging and rewards good thinking of risk/reward dynamic - Enemies are quite varied and fun, despite being basically all Necrons (the exception is the Heretek expansion) - the music and artwork are on point and perfectly give the right vibe and atmosphere Cons - randomly generated encounters and maps sometimes don;t make sense (I had one where the final objective was just one step away from the entrance door, making the rest of the level completely useless) - Techpriests become completely overpowered after 60% of the Necrons awakening bar. If you manage to unlock all 6 the challenge becomes annihilating all enemies within one round and without taking any damage... and you can very often succeed. This is probably balanced if you start an ironman or higher difficulty playthrough. - About events during missions: I have found that not knowing what a choice will give you in terms of rewards or drawbacks loses the roleplay fun pretty fast (at least for me) and simply adds a lot of choices that you can't make strategically. Often there is no hint at all of what can happen and that feels too random. I would have preferred to be able to see at least generally what I choice would do (affect initiative, heal/damage, Necron awakening) and have every choice give you a boon and a drawback at the same time, and you can decide what you want to do either based on roleplay or strategy what you want to do. I hope they will change this completely in Mechanicus 2 - being able to movement stat of a techpriest, enemy or unit and the area of damage of a weapon in advance would be great especially for cone energy weapons. I was left sometimes to guess where top position a techpriest and hoping I would hit the right tiles (you can see it after you moved but not before). Maybe I got spoiled by Tachtical breach wizards, but I was frustrated by this. - the equip menu needs to be sorted, in this case all weapons just piled in the same box without possibility to sort and filter. Mind, these are minor cons compared to the overall quality of this game, I recommend it dearly to all genre or 40k fans, especially if you find it on discount.

Turn based combat in a warhammer game? Sign me up. Before the sequel drops, why not try the original? Mechanicus is a rewarding game where you outfit an increasing team of tech priests and Skitari troops to delay the awakening of the necrons on the planet Silva Tenebris. Initial levels can be trickier with low level limited troops, but gets better if you can push through these early stages. In the skill tree, movement is helpful, as is the increase range damage in the dominus tree. Later on, it can feel a little repetitive, but despite that, it's still an excellent time. This game is great... it got me into WH40k so there is that... I wasn't sold ont the brand at all upfront. The ambiance, the playstyle, the mechanics... It just works really well for a turn base not too stressfull game. Can't wait for the 2!

Incredibly fascinating combination of a roguelike and turn-based strategy with RPG character progression. Great visuals, even better music and sound design. One of the best WH40K games out there.

It's strange to say but I really don't vibe with that game. Ultimately, I think it's more of a "meh" than outright "no" in regards to recommending this game. I saw so many positive reviews and played similar games - but I find it quite boring to say the least. Which isn't good since people said that the best part of this game was at the beginning vs the end game

So, I just dumped 11 straight hours into this, and, after some effort, i found a balance that made me love this game to death. Mechanicus is a turn-based, top-down tactical squad control game. the story follows an Ark Mechanicus Explorator fleet, following a trail of previous discoveries on a planet covered in Underground Xenos Tombs for you to violently purge of all life, and discover artifacts deep within. I have a very big problem with most other turn-based tactics games: the developers are almost always under the delusion that the game has to stomp all over you for it to be "fun". Xcom, Mordheim, and even Wartales to a certain degree all do this constantly. Mechanicus succeeded to satisfy me where they have failed. The first thing, i was delighted to see, was the option to tweak the game settings to make it easier. After the game ate me alive on casual(im not very talented at TBT games), i went back and cracked the settings down to the easiest possible setting. and it was actually too easy. Im OVERJOYED at this. Bulwark studios gave me options! Real, valid options that i can change and tweak to my heart's content. but i digress. i started over again and i tweaked the settings to be halfway between what i had it on originally, and all the way down. not quite "story" difficulty, but definitely easier than casual. and then i just couldnt stop for the next 10 hours, except to make dinner. Now, theres alot more to the game than the difficulty. there are no miss percentages, you hit what you aim at, unless your target has specialized actions like dodges. and certain units can be customized to an insane degree. The other units you have make great strategy tools and cannon fodder. Enemies have a decent variety, and you have all kinds of little bonuses and abilities that you can activate to give you whatever edge you need. onto what i am not happy about so far: there is a mission where you fight a group of enemies that are just... hot trash. in said mission, about half of the enemies start out as untargetable, and the moment they BECOME targetable, they take a dodge action that has a 100% success rate. you spend 2 whole rounds of combat pretty much waiting and taking damage, because there isnt much you can do to prevent it. it was just.... unpleasant. the second thing i was kinda disappointed in was the gameplay loop. in between missions, when youre on the ship, there isnt really any engaging content. you just level up your troops. and 2-3 minutes later, its on to another mission. your time on the ship needs more. thats all i really got though. aside from those two complaints, the game does a wonderful job at being more fun than any other turn based tactics game since final fantasy tactics advance. 8/10, 100% worth full the full 43 bucks. As always, i say buy it on sale though! But thats just one mission. so far, at least, and the rest of the game has been enjoyable and engaging.

"One of the good ones". - Warhammer is plagued by a lot of low-effort potato-budget cash grab games, but this is not one of them. Mechanicus is a fairly straightforward turn-based RPG whose defining mechanic is the CP system. Dotted around stages are various terminals that, when moved adjacent to, give you points that can be spent on attacks and extra moves. These terminals refresh every round. So battles become about how to maneuver your squad in such a way that you maximize CP generation and take as many actions as possible before the enemy. While the first 4-6 missions are brutal as your power level is noticeably behind the enemy's, once you cross over that hump you massively break ahead of the power curve to the point where it is not difficult to end most battles in a single round, even at the very late-game. Aside from that, the visuals are decent, albeit a little too... table-top, for my tastes anywho. The sound effects are satisfyingly chunky, and the music sets the tone very well. The tone of the game in general is laid out extremely well in fact. Games focused on the Adeptus Mechanicus or Necrons are quite rare, so fans of this specific subset of Warhammer are in for a treat. A single playthrough will probably take you anywhere from 25-40 hours depending on how proficient you are (there is a time limit that ticks down between missions based on how many actions you took to clear the previous one, but it is generous and, if you clear missions quickly and efficiently enough, can effectively be stalled multiple times).

Summary: TOTALLY NOT BALANCED PIECE OF SHIT NEVER BUY IT BEFORE HUGE, SIGNIFICANT RE-BALANCE!!! NEVER!!! My first introduction to the game was very surprising, I thought that found a dimond and was happier then ever. I choose to play on Very Hard with IronMan and Permadeath mods on... I choose to play significantly difficult strategy game with hard decision and my brain turned on for 150%. Only this could give you true emotions, and true happiness from playing. And it was very very close to it (I thought it was) because my first game I loose because of bad decision made by me, I had no enough cognition points and I underestimate my enemy so I loose. It was fantastic, the end video part of the game tell me the story of lost to Necrons civilization of future humankind, all galaxy was swarmed with Necrons and I as a commander lead to it. It was entirely fantastic feeling. It was exactly what I need, to try hard and be punished for my frivolity. The second try was also lost. I forgot that I choose Permadeath and I lost one of my Tech-Priest (a hero in this world), that's why I had not enough fire-power in my next mission and I loose. Again. The End video part of the game recalled me that all of that is my fault. The third try I was totally focused. I was scared of every new type of enemy warriors (because you don't know the abilities of new enemies, you should find them out), I was totally in the game and that what I need, that what I choose! But, after I pass first approximately 10 missions all of this just gone. My heroes became overpower pieces of shit. I just "hit and run" all of future missions without any strategy. Every new enemy I was really careful, but it wasn't needed. I gathered many of many items, but use only a few ones that best fit to any situation while other ones is not needed at all. Why you add that items to the game? What the hell? Why don't play and don't get well tested your own game? Why??? WHY??? Why it is looks like noone never play it before? Why my first BIG BOSS was like easy walk and I win it with only my left hand in use and a couple of clicks???? What is that the shit? Why you did so much work, add so much items and other possibilities, but I can't use them, because there is only a couple of good combination of that items and abilities? Why the game that was so fantastic at the beggining become so miserable? All abilities lasts one round... ohhh, that looks like they just add something to be and it doesn't matter what, all of it will last one round, will be imbalanced at all and so on. Oh and I forget the ultimate abilities of each tech-priests and so called Canticles... you can just anything at any time. You can develop the ability to use any Canticle twice... you just can make an overpower shit... ohhh, what the pain is that. You can heal all of your tech-priests in one time, just all healed... ohhh, what a shit. This game for now is like something that no one never played and tested before release. Very Hard = "hit and run"... so stupid.

Text walls like a free mobile game, then difficulty like they don't want anybody having fun. What does it prove to kill the player off in the tutorial, then again in the first mission, cruelly mislabeled easy? You win. Just wish I could get my money back.

It starts off as initially interesting but it gets so repetitive so quickly. No matter what the actual mission title is most of the time it's kill all enemies or escape. Customising your tech priests and balancing with troops who can be sacrificed to keep them alive is good but I'm really struggling to get enthused for another kill 'em all mission and I'm only about 40% of the way through when the enemy variety is so bad.

Excellent soundtrack that captures the atmosphere and vibe of the Adeptus Mechanicus. Even if this type of game is not for you, the soundtrack is something that can be enjoyed by all. The full OST can be found on YouTube and Spotify, and probably most other music/video platforms. II. Excellent use of the Warhammer 40k IP. The lore, artwork, and writing for this game are all very well crafted and really bring you into the world of 40k. If you are a fan of either of the factions involved, the Mechanicus or the Necrons, then this game will provide a great and enjoyable experience for you. Even if you aren't a fan of these factions, it is still a great 40k experience that might change your perspective on and give you a newfound appreciation for them. III. For the type of game this is, turn-based tactics in the same vein as XCOM, it is extremely fun and has some unique mechanics inspired by the setting. It is not super rng heavy. The most important variable for success is not chance but player choice, such as your upgrades/augments, positioning, unit selection, etc. IV. Good amount of replay-ability due to the way that the campaign is structured. There are a lot of sectors with varying enemy types and events, but since you are under a hard time limit to explore the Tomb World before it awakens, you may not get to all the places you want to explore before your time is up. There are also a lot of story decisions and missions that you can choose to play one way or another, and there are two Tech-Priests that want you to take certain actions which benefit their cause of either exterminating Xenos technology or studying and adopting it. So you end up never really experiencing everything in one playthrough, and depending on what missions you prioritize you can get different endings. Ultimately this gives the game enough variety to feel fresh for a few playthroughs. There are also a lot of different ways to play based on the troops you use and the augments you give them.
Malefits
I. The gameplay can be a bit repetitive. Although there are a lot of different storylines, events, choices, and playstyles that make it fun to replay, when it comes down to the simple reality of 'select unit and shoot at robot mummy man,' it can feel a bit samey when you get further into the game. It is still an enjoyable experience, but this is something to keep in mind. II. In my personal experience of the game I find it can be a bit choppy and run slow. Originally I played a crappy dell laptop with integrated graphics, and surprisingly the game actually ran on that. Of course it performing poorly on that laptop is not the game's fault, however I have upgraded to a 2080 and although it performs much better, I still encounter some choppiness and graphical bugs which I think are generally on the game's end. It is also true that a lot of the actual animations for units and stuff can take a while to complete, not due to lag but just as part of the game design, which can slow down the overall experience. Some things to consider perhaps, though it should run well on most systems, and apparently even if you have a crappy laptop you should still be able to play. III. Graphics are decent but not the best. Some of the textures are not very detailed especially when you are customizing your Tech-Priests. Nonetheless it is a pretty game and though it might not have the highest graphical quality the art style, effects, and level design are still really great. IV. The game's difficulty can be inconsistent. Sometimes the game is super easy, and I imagine especially for those who are veterans of the genre. At the same time certain sections can be unreasonably challenging, and for new players, with the added confusion of figuring out the mechanics, this is likely doubly the case. It gets particularly easy endgame once you have maxed out your Priests, to the point that a lot of the bosses are trivial. Luckily the game has difficulty settings that you can change at any time during your playthrough, so it is easy enough to adjust them to make the game more of a challenge, or if you are struggling you can of course decrease the difficulty in a variety of ways.
Conspectus
Overall Mechanicus is a great game. I have thoroughly enjoyed it as a longtime fan of the Adeptus Mechanicus, and the soundtrack in particular I have listened to for hours on end. The gameplay is fun and brings some unique mechanics to the genre. The art style is fantastic, alongside the writing, and although the game's graphics aren't the best and it can get a bit choppy at times, it is still a great experience that really brings you into the world of Warhammer 40k. One of the better games to come out of the franchise. Although I one hundred percent recommend this game, I will say that you should consider whether or not this specific genre of games is for you. Although I enjoy turn-based tactical strategy games, that may not be for everyone, especially those who are maybe looking for something with more action. So as with all things keep in mind what is fun for you and what you would like to spend your time on. For those who like this genre and are fans of or interested in 40k, I can say you will not be disappointed. <(Φ)>π.ΟΜΝΗ.54686520466c657368206973205765616b2c20746865204d616368696e6520697320457465726e616c.ΟΜΝΗ.π<(Φ)>
<REPORT = END>
PER DEPARTMENTO GRADIO : NSEPR.001.D1S.GIVLMCASSIVS.2544025.M41
