The story and character sprites are very amateurish, but this game was clearly made with a lot of love. If you love Final Fantasy Tactics, then this game is the closest I have found to reliving that feeling. In fact, I think the game's systems are better than FFT. The Ability Point grind is very friendly - you get a bunch for completing story missions, patrols, hunts, it spills over to your entire roster, you can idle grind AP/items/GP from the missions and monsters DLC - perfect for a gamer who doesn't have a lot of time. There is enough depth in the combat to make you think about your builds and what you are doing (at least, until you get Warmage afaik...), and even on the easy difficulty setting, if you play recklessly, you will get punished! Environmental hazards are meaningful and to be taken advantage of (or to get abused by...) Tons of improvements over FFT as well. Look at the map as you deploy. Re-equip and re-assign your units to counterpick before you deploy! No random encounters - you either want it and activate it, or you don't. The music is surprisingly good, considering my negative judgment of the story and character sprites. I cannot recommend this game enough if you like strategy tactical RPGs.

Fell Seal nails the classic tactical RPG formula with a modern polish. The deep build and character customization system is a dream... Addictive and rewarding, especially with its well-paced grind and varied strategies to tackle battles. The hand-drawn backgrounds are soothing and give the game a refreshing look. While the story isn't groundbreaking, it’s engaging enough to keep you invested in the world and lore. The DLC adds even more depth, and smart quality-of-life features make the whole experience smooth and satisfying. A must-play for strategy RPG fans. One of my favorite games I played in recent years.

A fun tactical RPG with an old school feel. I would definitely recommend it for folks who like games like Final Fantasy Tactics or Ogre Tactics.

This is deeply influenced if not copying many parts of final fantasy tactics. Almost done with 1st act, it is solid. Not mind blowing but I am enjoying grinding a game that mimics a game I played 20+ years ago, I'd say that is a good sign.

My favourite Fantasy Tactical RPG. The classes and combat systems are super interesting and fun to discover. You don't need to worry too much about items, going once evrey couple missions to a shop is enough, which for me is fantastic. The music is a great company and the story is good enough to keep you playing, but neither is outstanding. Overall a GREAT game, specially at this price.

Did you ever play Final Fantasy Tactics? Did you like that game? If so, you'll Fell Seal. It's got a different art style and different naming conventions, but the guts of FFT were definitely beloved by this developer. I've had a ton of fun playing this game so far and a good deal of the same strategies from FFT work here as well. Aside from copying FFT really well, this game has its own unique story, setting, and universe. I don't think it's quite as deep as FFT's universe and story, but it's entertaining on its own, kind of like the different between "The Lord of the Rings" and a good Fantasy Anime. The Lord of the Rings is sweeping, epic, and deep, but a good Fantasy Anime may not create its own language for elves and go deep into themes, but it could still be filled action, adventure, and fun. That's Fell Seal: it's not breaking the mold on its fantasy, but it's not a bad story and combined with the FFT gameplay, it's fun. And as a really, really big plus, the game has a developer console you can enable. I see this is a MASSIVE pro for the game, because if you don't have time to grind or you want try all the classes and all the gear without feeling like you're losing your mind, you can have anything you need with a couple button pushes. I loved FFT, but damn, it took a LONG TIME to get heroes fully built up, but here, I knew what I wanted from FFT here and was able to make it no time. I'm 12 hours in and definitely recommend it.

I think this game disappoints me more than anything. Tactical RPGs are my favorite and the execution here just feels poor. Progression feels slow, exacerbated by real-time mission deployments, and all-too-often fights just feel slow and weighted against you regardless of difficulty settings. In all honesty Fell Seal just feels like a poor imitation of games like Final Fantasy Tactics and Tactics Ogre. It's not explicitly bad but what it does isn't particularly good either.

The game has some decent gameplay .... It kind of scratched my FFT or Tactics Ogre Reborn itch. However, the art style looks like the flash games you got in trouble for playing in highschool in computer class. It is so bad and the characters are so lame and forgettable that i dont think i can play anymore . I really wanted to like this but it is not worth it even on sale in my opinion. Wait for September for the remake of Final Fantasy Tactics.

Wears its Final Fantasy Tactics influences on its sleeve. You can see the bones of an RPGM game buried in there, but that's okay. The graphics suit the gameplay, the combat loop is mostly fun (apart from when enemies just keep healing/reviving, over and over), and there's enough depth to it. The story is solid, but not mindblowing, and you do grow attached to your little party.

Love playing it. The story is nice, and there is plenty of nostalgia from Final Fantasy Tactics in here, especially with the DLC. The art style of the maps I really liked, but from the character movement felt a bit unnatural and took a bit getting used to nothing too serious.

The gameplay reminds me of Final Fantasy Tactics with a couple of modern updated systems. The graphics are growing on me and the story is interesting so far. Can't beat it at the price on the summer sale.

FFT minus the FF. Tactics Ogre without the Ogre. You get the idea. This is the best Tactics clone on Steam. Tons of options to dial in difficulty to your liking. Lots of familiar gameplay and classes. A good enough story. 100% worth it at full price but often on sale for dirt cheap when it's an absolute steal.
