It's quite dynamic! the enemy is constantly adapting to your moves forcing you to do the same, it gets challenging. On top of that, the artwork is superb and the music is lovely. While the main Rivals of Aether usually sounds similar to Megaman X (which sounds super good, give that a listen too if you haven't) this game's OST will remind you of the Sega Genesis/Megadrive, more specifically Shining Force, OST super recommended too :D Don't let the dice fool you, luck won't get you too far. Victory is up to you!!

A fun little tactics game worth checking out if you get the itch. I'm impressed that this game was made by a studio known for its platform fighters. I doubt they'll come back to this genre any time soon, but I'd love more content.

Visually very beautiful (pixel art in the vein of Rivals of Aether) and the soundtrack is made by Flashygoodness 👍 I loved the complexity of the gameplay. Between the dice that add a dose of strategy and chance, the objects and artifacts to collect that will influence the outcome of battles, and the management of inventory/town, there’s plenty to make us think. The characters are unique, with an evolution that makes each run unique and addictive. It’s a well-thought-out rogue-like, with a depth that kept me glued for hours. Only downside, the game is rather short, even though I played directly in hard mode and wrapped up the adventure in 18 hours. It offers “ranked runs” to extend the fun (not tested). In short, a super title for fans of pixel art and dice. 7.5/10

this game is that good kind of difficulty; played through on adv. mode out of hubris, got peak gameplay instead

This game is really fun for fans of the Rivals of Aether series, newcomers, fans of rogue games, and in my humble opinion, everyone else. Long term fans of the series will see easter eggs from the main plat fighter games, but won't be overwhelmed and confused as an easy to understand story is presented, with understandable characters and motivations. In addition, the combat system with rolling dice is easy to understand, but offers variability and enjoyment because of how different characters play. My favorite is Slade the shark, who has very little defense, but with his high speed is able to dodge attacks at a cost of stamina. Plus, the rogue mechanics really help out a lot, because if you're having difficulty you can use items, and even if you die, you keep items, which honestly incentivizes players to fight all enemies and fully explore maps for hidden items (every floor has them :). Overall, it's a really fun, well designed game and I hope everyone plays it

Slade is hot, if you don't like hot fish men, I wouldn't recommend it.
