This is my favorite RLDB game in the genre. 9/10. I have played others like Slay the spire and across the obelisk but the way this game works is incredible. The way defending against damage happens on the next turn, purging cards for more energy, power cards feel really impactful and build enabling like they should. I think the only thing I have experienced with this game that I wish was different, and the reason why I give this a 9 instead of 10, is I wish you had the option to choose a card from the entire classes deck to master instead of the couple options they provide you with. Being able to start every run on your favorite class with the card that enables the build you want to play would be incredible. I would definitely say, of the RLDB i have played, this one is by far my favorite for the control you have during combat and while navigating each floor planning your path based on which cards u want to add to your deck and then organizing your deck accordingly, and even enhancing your cards with gems to make good cards even better. This game cannot be overlooked or passed up on if you are a fan of the deck building genre. Worth every dollar.

Vault of the Void is a deckbuilding roguelike that offers a fresh take on the genre by combining strategic card play with tactical positioning and squad management. Developed by Galvanic Games, it challenges players to build powerful decks, craft synergies, and survive increasingly difficult battles in a mysterious, dark fantasy world. The core of Vault of the Void lies in constructing your deck from a wide array of cards that represent attacks, defenses, and unique abilities. What sets it apart is how you manage a small team of units on a grid-based battlefield, positioning them to maximize damage and protect vulnerable allies. This mix of deckbuilding and tactical combat creates a layered and engaging experience. Each run is unique thanks to procedurally generated encounters and a variety of cards and relics to discover. The game encourages thoughtful planning, rewarding players who adapt their strategies based on the cards they draw and the enemies they face. The art style is dark and atmospheric, fitting perfectly with the game’s mysterious theme. Card designs are clear and visually appealing, making it easy to understand your options even during complex battles. The soundtrack and sound effects add tension and immersion, enhancing the overall mood. What Could Be Better: -Some players might find the difficulty curve steep at first. -The UI can feel a bit cluttered when managing multiple units and cards. -More variety in enemy types and encounters could improve replayability. Vault of the Void is a compelling deckbuilder that combines card strategy with tactical squad combat in a unique way. It’s perfect for players looking for a challenging, thoughtful roguelike that rewards smart decisions and adaptability. If you enjoy games like Slay the Spire but want something with more tactical depth, this one’s worth checking out. Rating: 8/10

Very decent game. It has Slay the Spire vibes, but also its own charm, and does many things differently. For me it's really enjoyable and challenging (on Impossible difficulty). Fun thing is, I almost refunded it in the first hour. I tried the tutorial, got really confused and disappointed because it didn't make sense to me. Now it does. Just give it some time, it's good. By the way, I tried many roguelike deckbuilders. Most of them are.. bad. UPD: Well, this game is not easy. I+21 currently. It's hard, but in a different way than Slay the Spire is. Also, The Hidden for me is unplayable, I lose even on Impossible. The Tempest is the most stable character for me.

Nice card game, much like Slay the Spire.

Like Slay the Spire but with way more control. You can purge cards to get more energy, you can save cards in your hand for later, add void stones to cards for more effects, plan ahead and change your deck before a fight (which is fixed to 20 normal cards, but you can have more if you get an affliction card; basically curses). I think there's way more variety when it comes to builds, not only due to the amount of cards in the game (almost 500), but also due to the amount of relics (around 390), potions and their mechanics, abilities, and card effects. There's a lot of keywords you have to learn at first and the learning curve is steep, but it's really not that bad. It only took me 2-3 runs to learn them all, and it's way more satisfying to win in this game than in StS, honestly. Though, runs tend to last a little longer than ones in StS due to the complexity and decision making (around 1-1.5 hours more). Overall, very fun and satisfying, highly recommend if you like turn-based card battles with lots of variation and decision making. After playing for 30 hours, I've only discovered around 45% of cards and 19% of relics. That's insane.
