Lost Eidolons is a fantastic strategy game in the vein of Fire Emblem, with a bunch of engaging character progression between skills, classes, and rapport building. The mission structures were unique and exciting, particularly in the back third of the game. It's not a AAA game, but the story was a very solid war based one and the characters grew on me considerably. I thought that I was going to like this one, but I ended up really liking it! Review scores seem to be lower than they should be as people didn't like the camp dialogue and side quest stuff? I actually liked that part the best, being similar to Midnight Suns or Valkyria Chronicles. Also, you can teleport directly to any character you want to speak to at will and skip the dialogue if you really want, so I don't see the downside here. You end up with a lot of characters to manage and the battles take a while, but I really got into all of the upgrades and equipment, so actually enjoyed spending time tinkering around. I can't wait to try out the sequel!

Great tactical SRPG, or tactical RPG. Think medieval gritty Fire Emblem and your most of the way to what this game is. If you like Fire Emblem, FFT, Tactics Ogre or Fell Seal I think you'd like this game. I give it a 9/10 for being a different theme game in a genre that can be hard to succeed in.

There's two types of Fire Emblem genre games: the old school 16 bit pixel type and then the more modern version. This falls in the latter category, and if you prefer more modern type graphics, this is probably the best Fire emblem type strategy game out there, other than of course Fire Emblem itself. Now, obviously this has nowhere near the same production values, the cutscenes and faces are odd and jarring at times. But the strategy and customization is deep where it counts. I also thought the voice acting was well done, even if the cutscenes and dialogue left a lot to be desired. Personally, I prefer the 16bit style Fire Emblem type games, so I would recommend the Vestaria Saga and Dark Diety series.
