Grab your trench coat, tune your sixth sense and join the Darkside Division as they investigate the outright bizarre, the downright dangerous and the confusing cases of Twin Lakes. Flesh-hungry tentacles, mafian zombies, and the occasional missing sock are no match for The Darkside Detective.

What a highly enjoyable game! It's a classic pixel point and click game, with funny humour and a great soundtrack. The cases that you need to solve all have a fun mystery, interesting/quirky characters, and the main characters themselves provide fun commentary on whatever you're investigating. While there are puzzles in this game, they are quite easy, and if you have logical problem solving skills, you won't need to think too hard on how to get from A to B. The relatively easy puzzles are fine, because what makes this game shine is definitely the writing. I played through all of the cases twice for the achievements, and found myself enjoying the dialogue for the second time. Highly recommended if you've enjoyed something like the X-files or Buffy and have a soft spot for goofy spookiness mystery solving!

Nine bite-sized stories, riddles that are usually solvable with a little logic, funny dialogue with load of references to the classics. What's there not to like? I played it with my son, and it gave us an opportunity to have fun together.

This game is very short and silly. It made me laugh a lot. I love dad jokes though, so your mileage may vary. The puzzles aren't difficult. They're just enough to make you feel like you're accomplishing something while you read the silly jokes. I'm enjoying it.

Funny dialogue, interesting premises, cool clues scattered all over the place. The world building and music added to the somewhat spooky atmosphere. Would recommend!

If you're a fan of point and click detective games, I think you'll enjoy this. The humor leans on the corny side, so if you don't find that kind of thing charming, you might not enjoy it after all lol but I've loved the experience so far. I've been rationing the cases for myself but I recently got the sequel so I might update this once I finish the game with the playtime that took.

As a huge fan of Thimbleweed Park, I was on the hunt for games that capture its unique retro charm, and The Darkside Detective delivered exactly what I was looking for. This point-and-click adventure game nails the nostalgic vibe with pixel-art graphics, atmospheric sound effects, and intuitive mechanics that echo the classic style of Thimbleweed Park. However, it sets itself apart with bite-sized, self-contained cases that keep the pacing snappy and engaging. Each case is packed with quirky humor, clever puzzles, and supernatural twists that blend seamlessly with the retro aesthetic. While the shorter case structure might leave you wanting more if you prefer sprawling narratives, it’s perfect for players who enjoy concise, well-crafted stories that don’t overstay their welcome. The game’s witty dialogue and lovable characters, like Detective Francis McQueen and his sidekick Officer Dooley, add a delightful layer of charm. The Darkside Detective isn’t trying to reinvent the genre or compete with the depth of heavyweights like Thimbleweed Park, but it doesn’t need to. It’s a polished, lighthearted romp that nails the retro point-and-click experience. If you’re craving a dose of nostalgic adventure with a supernatural twist, this game is a must-play. Highly recommended for fans of the genre looking for a fun, compact experience!

Good music. Heavy on the puns, so if that's not your style you might not appreciate it. Puzzles aren't necessarily the most difficult, but they've stumped me a few times! A bit short if you manage to blast through these, but otherwise enjoyable and doesn't overstay its welcome.
